so I have an interview that I shot here on a DSLR and I have the audio recorded on the on-board microphone here that's what we're seeing on our waveform and this audio is just not the best audio and maybe more and then so what I did was I recorded with a lavalier microphone attached to my subject to an external audio recorder so I have that audio file here you'll see it's labeled lavalier mic so I'm gonna put that down here and now the problem is it's not synchronized with my I'm gonna have to manually synchronize this with a clip so one quick way to do that is you can eyeball the waveform I have both of the waveforms opened up here and I had my subject clap now I could simply drag this over and try to eyeball the waveforms but there's a much faster way so what you can do is select both of the clips and go to clip and choose synchronize and this dialog box gives you quite a plethora of options with which to synchronize so we can synchronize by timecode the start point or end point we could synchronize two markers if I had markers set up here or we can just synchronize to the audio which if I select this Premiere is going to listen to both of my tracks here and then try to figure out exactly how to sync it up if I select ok you can see it shifted and if we zoom in on our waveform it looks like it's pretty in sync so let's have a listen tell parents I mean any field you could ever wish you okay it sounded pretty good that usually when it's not NSYNC you'll either hear a little bit of an echo or it'll sound completely out of sync so I'm gonna solo the lavalier audio track here so now let's have a look a kid would be would go into they're gonna do better at it if they can be a problem-solver and an outside okay so now that's all in good let me show you one other quick thing that we can do so now we have this but it's a little clunky to work with on our timeline we could group these together but there's a much better way we don't we don't want these to fall back out of sync so what I want to do is I want to merge this video here with this audio clip and kind of get rid of our reference audio so to do that I'm gonna hold alt grab my reference audio and delete it and then I'm going to select these two clips and then I'm gonna go to clip merge clips and now I can rename the clip just call it let's just call it interview merged I guess select okay and now if we look over in the project panel you'll see we have a new clip called interview merged and now I can drag this in and everything's linked up it actually gives us two audio tracks here they're going to do better at it if they can be a problem-solver and and outside the box thinker so and there we go that's how you can synchronize audio to video in Adobe Premiere Pro you
