how's it going guys double wide six here got a Husqvarna 41 chainsaw and today we're going to be sharpening the chain first thing you want to do is you want to take that bar and get it locked up there in your vise and you want to make sure that when you clamp it in the vise you lock the vise on the middle of the bar and not by the edges so I'm try and stay in the middle Snug it up nice and tight so it doesn't move alright if we take a close look at the chain saw chain you'll notice that some of the teeth are pointing away and some of the teeth are pointing in the opposite direction towards us the teeth that are pointing towards us those are the ones that we're going to sharpen first then we're going to flip around the chain saw and the vise and get the other teeth so right here is where I'm going to start in my hand I'm holding a marker pen paint marker thing and what I'm going to do is I'm going to mark this link with a little bit of white paint you can use whiteout you can use you know a marker or some form of paint like that that way you know where to begin and then you'll know where to end here's a look at the file that we're going to be using this is a 5/32 chainsaw sharpening file these are available at Home Depot Lowe's any place that sells chainsaws should carry this and you can also get them online you need to get the exact size for the size kerf that you have in your chainsaw chain so I have a 5/32 kerf and then my chain so this is what I need so to sharpen the chain what you want to do is you want to put your file right inside the tooth and you're going to go at the exact same angle that the chains already on and basically you're going to feed it through there one two three four passes and you want to make sure that you count how many times do it so I'm going to do four passes on each tooth if you do something for some to some seven what's going to happen is your chains not going to cut straight so you're trying to cut with the chainsaw and it'll go on an angle so I'm going to make four passes on each tooth so the next thing I need to do is grab the chain and we're going to move it forward until we get to the next link that's facing us in the right direction and what we're going to do is we're going to take that file and once again we're going to go one two three four and we're just trying to follow the cut that was there previously so we're going to go all the way around the chain and do the one side of it so once you have one side complete you're going to grab your soul we're going to flip it over lock it in there the same way just in the opposite direction don't over tighten it just snug it up and now once again teeth that are facing you in the right direction those are the ones that you want to get and I'm going to remark the stall with my paint marker
