How to Set Up a MongoDB Atlas Account | Step-by-Step Guide

hello and welcome to my channel and in this video I will be telling you how to set up your mongodb Atlas account so first open your Google and what you will write there is mongodb atlas and clicking on the first link this is the mongod Atlas homepage so you will click on start free then I here I'm signing up with Google itself if you want you can sign up with the other details now that you have signed up you need to click and accept the privacy policy and it is your account into their Cloud database you need to select what is your primary goal so as of now we will select building a new project and let's select we are new to mongod DV I will be using for mostly Java but you can choose other languages as well it does not matter which language you over here then you will click on finish here it will ask you whether you want to deploy it onto a server or not so for our case we will be going for the free version over here and click on create once you have created the account you will be seeing a username and a password on your screen make sure you copy paste that username and password and keep it safe with you once you have create a user it will ask you to select for my local environment and it will ask you to add your current IP as well uh so by default it automatically adds your current IP and wherever you are accessing your application for you will need to add their IP addresses to give the access on finish and close now here it is it has created your entire mongodb cluster over here so now now what you can do is we'll go back to overview and we will create a connect as well now you have multiple options to connect it for from what we will choose is we'll choose mongodb Atlas I have mongodb at list on install in my PC and here you will get a copy string over here that is useful and this string will be used across each and every application you will be building and it will have your username and the password that you copied from the earliest copy this entire thing and click on now what you need to do is open your mongodb compass and copy paste the URL that you have created while creating your username and adding your password as well and click on connect it will take a minute for you to connect to your mongodb atas cluster that is hosted on a cloud here you can see that there are different databases created uh but we won't be using any of these database so what you need to do is click on the plus button create a new database uh we will name it Dev as of now and we'll make the first collection as user and we'll click on the create database so now you can see that this database has been created and you have successfully created and set up your mongodb Atlas account stay tuned for the next video where will save this data into the cloud [Music] TV
