[Music] hey everybody this is Andre with garage-door guidance today I want to do a quick video on how to set the up and down limits on a lift master garage door opener this is done by pressing these arrows here just a sequence a combination of doing that so I just want to go ahead and show you guys how to do it this will work for Chamberlayne craftsman lift master units anything really that has these arrows here in the back or on the side of the garage door opener itself so I just wanted to zoom out and show you guys exactly how to do this if this was a fresh install or if this is a new unit first thing it's going to want to do is set how high up it goes or the open limit the way you do that is you go over here so you have your top arrow the middle square bottom arrow what you want to do is push and hold the little black rectangle here you'll hear that click and now you have this flashing orange light on the up arrow what it's telling you to do now is to set how high up you need to go with this garage door opener so we're just gonna go ahead and push and hold this just a little lower I'm still holding it if you let go you see that if you let go it stops we want to go all the way up so this is half way roughly I'm gonna bring it up so I press it again bring it up higher not quite usually I go ahead and I do it so that I could see just the jam itself or the header out there so this is about where I want it to stay so this is where where you're gonna press that rectangle again so you get that clip that double flash is saying okay I've stored the up limit now we're gonna want to bring it all the way down to the closed position and the same thing you just push and hold that bottom arrow you'll see I'll usually stop holding it towards the bottom about right there just I don't push too hard so from here you just tap it to get it to the closed position or sometimes I like to push it down a little little bit harder so there you go get a nice nice closure so this is about where I want it in the closed position so you can see that little bottom arrow is still flashing from there all you do is hit that rectangle and that's its up position and the down position are both stored now and so you'll see that up arrow is flashing so what this is wanting to do is just wants to run a full cycle up just so it can set the force because at this point we've already set the up and the down limits now what the motor is going to do by hitting this arrow here it's gonna set how hard it pushes and pulls the door and every spot as it goes along so we'll go ahead and hit that as it and watch it go up so went up no problem so you see that down arrows flashing we're just going to hit that again [Music] see that stop where we wanted it once that's all off you don't have your Wi-Fi connected you won't have that green light like I do but I don't all just telling us that we are all set up we're good to go so from here I'll just use my little Universal Rock door opener that final test with the remote that I just did was just to make sure that it is set in down positions where I wanted it again you don't want to go too high you don't want to crush it down at the bottom too much so usually you just want that nice soft smooth close to the bottom and up at the jambs just so your car can clear the garage door it selves and just past the header itself is where I usually set it you guys got this far in the video I just want to say thanks for watching support my channel we'll see you guys in the next video
