hello everybody in today's video I'll be showing you guys how to rig and blender rigging is how to deform your mtle and make it pose and stuff so I got my player model I deleted the rig to show how the the rig it um mine does have tail yours may not mine has feet yours probably doesn't but uh I'm sure that's fine I'm sure you'll get the basic principles in here so um we got our model you you and we're going to make sure we're in object mode here we're going to add an Armature or you could do shift a that's what I usually do shift a Armature and click that I don't think it's at the center so I'm going to Center this one yours maybe um now we can't see it um unless it's in front of our model so we're going to click this little running guy we're going to put in front if you want you can put names but I'm not going to do that now it's in front but I don't really like the way the this one looks the triangles or whatever so I usually do stick some reason why it's not on the center that's probably because the design I inan my model but uh I'm going to Center mine you don't have but uh uh that looks about good and um we centered on model it's in the center the the rig that's what I meant and so we're going to go in edit mode and you could like click on the little points and it'll move it and it works like anything else so if you click e and move it out and it makes a new butt that's the method of doing this most of the time um we're going to pull up to like about the neck area go bring it back just a little bit um about around the neck area we're going to extrude again and we're going to make the head this is going to define the head and um I don't usually mirror it but uh a lot of people do I just I never got to it so um uh we're going to extrud pull this little part out and we're going to sh it again and you like um go to a wireframe and select like um somewhere around here not like a like in between face it that's going to break it like put um put like I'll put mine like right here put it like on an edge so it bends better so you may have to move it to be in the center and then uh we're going to extrude the other one other thing uh and this is going to be the this the arm and uh I'm going to do the same thing my fingers I'm just going to do uh three [Music] joints [Music] um I do see Jo for the thumb it just better now if we go from any other perspective we'll see that this is um not um centered so I'm going to select these I'm going to pull them up to be um in their Center like uh like actually on the finger and we're just going to I'm just going to line these up be on the actual finger and stuff this looks like about good but these extra these extra faces that we don't need these extra bones they uh get in the way most of the time when you're trying to uh actually sign the bones so click X and dissolve and I mean just click bones don't click disolve and see that's still parented to here so if I uh go to posee mode and I rotate everything's so that's going to follow all that and so I'm going to do the same for um these uh those parts of the bone and then we got a I got the finger rig we got um the arm rig your model may not have a tail but um I'm going to rig a tail so I want to do the same thing a gun wireframe so oh never mind my topology sucks so uh we're just going to extrude this out delete that and uh only problem is the Bone's not uh the uh Tail's not parented to the rig but that's fine we don't need to parent it but if you want to you click uh contrl p and keep offet and um it it uh makes it uh easier so when you turn all this uh it's on an offset and um oh yeah I made my model on the Y position usually you should make your model on the X position so I can't mirr it but I'll probably Show an example later how to mirr it but um we're going to use I'm going to do the same thing I'm just going to cut it out now we have a this little rig now we're going to parent it to the um actual uh model so we going to select the rig then click a make sure the rig's like a brighter color click contrl P automatic weights now this is the automatic approach so stuff is going to be broken 100% I turn this wait what uh but my head oh no what oh well I guess uh we could fix some stuff up so we're going to click the rig we're going to click the body we're going to click white paint it'll be blue and click control and then click and you'll see the weight position and we're just going to I'm going to fix up and click subtract over here and get rid of the blue spots on the body you may not want these or just clean it up as much as you can it's really hard too sometimes my uh arm and body is joined so [Music] and I click add uh add stuff back that's the best I'm going to actually no I can fix up some stuff we going to click the head we're going to fix some P there that's looking good good and the detail looks about right now um when we turn it there'll be less deformation still sucks but this is just a tutorial so and then there's obviously some on the head that I'm going to fix right now uh we're going to click the head we're going to click add and we're just going to paint over completely we're going click everything else and just subtract we want the head to have 100% control on um our player model this is looking uh good so now when we turn it that works and that has no control for that this is a um basic rigging tutour I'm not going to use this R for my game because it's uh pretty dooky and I already have a decent one but um hopefully this uh this teaches you uh how to rig more
