welcome back to my channel tops toolbox today we're going to fix a very common issue in toilet so my toilet moves see and there's leakage I've tightened those bolts before there's one on either side I did not fix my issue so that means the wax o-ring that connects to the floor and it's the seal so you don't have this leakage and wax o-ring is bad so if your toilet is loose tighten it might fix the issue if it doesn't then you have a battle ring and today we're going to show how to change that tools you will need adjustable wrench just a set of pliers extra hands first things first shut off your water turn this to the right water's off disconnect this by hand to the left bend it out of the way strip the water out onto your towel whatever you may have just stays like that next are these bolts okay your adjustable wrench get it the size to the left let's say this whole bolt is spinning you're gonna take your extra set of pliers grab the top and same thing Lefty once it's loose enough you can always just go by hand like this to look up do the same to the other side once both your bolts are removed and take the toilet and lift so straight up bring it to the side this part's for another girl to start I'm gonna grab the old wax flange pull it up I put my hand inside of a bag that way I need to take it turn the bag inside out your gloves and then just clean off all that old wax pretty much how you want to look no wax left on the top just want a good seal I got this newer non-wax gasket very simple to install we'll go over that cost me 15 bucks at the hardware store two ways to install this type of gasket so if you are above the floor like me you're just going to need a blue piece you are even with the floor below the floor it comes with this and you'll need this spacer so take your new brass bolts put it in this way and then uh angle slide it in and it twists into place and just leave it there foreign slide it into place this one comes with these fancy plastic washers that'll keep those bolts tight anyway slide them on push them down and pull up at the same time stays nice and up and on both take your blue gasket and these Loops will reach Bolt just like that nice and simple and just pick your toilet back up and put it back on relax o-ring push it in shimmy it in sit on it tighten up the bolts do you blind it up you can take your washer metal washer put it on the bolt on the nut sorry same thing on this side washer nut make sure you tighten both of these down pretty good and that needle back this put it back on and ready tidy turn your water back on to the left here let it fill up for a minute flush it a couple times once you're here stop running give it a flush and there we go no leaks thanks for watching another one of my videos be sure to like And subscribe God bless
