How to Remove Video Background in Canva

how to remove the video background in canva with just one click let's get straight to it here we are in my canva dashboard and let's go ahead and create a new project here on the top right and let's make it a video so I'm gonna show you two examples so you can understand how to use this functionality right I already uploaded both of them here on the left sidebar under uploads and then you go to videos so let's go ahead and do the first one right here so as you can see this is a very clean shot of a woman against a clean background it's only one color so in order to remove this you just go here under edit video on the top left and then you click on this button under Tools that says background remover this is a pro functionality so as you can see here with this icon this is only available in canva Pro and it's not available on the free plan unfortunately this is a very Advanced tool it's going to take you know a couple of seconds maybe up to a minute because it it does some incredible calculations behind the scenes and yeah let's uh let's see the results I'm gonna fast forward right now all right and we are back so let's have a look at the video and see what we have as you can see this oops this is a pretty clean job this is actually very impressive it took like I don't know 30 45 seconds to process this and let's just actually change the background color of this entire slide to see that it did a really really good job and as you can see super super clean background removal now I want to show you another example so you can understand how this tool actually works and how you can feed it good videos in order to be able to actually remove the background properly and do a very clean job so let's import this other sort of talking head video of myself and as you can see the background for this one is a little bit more complicated it has Furniture it's not very even it's not very clear so let's see how it does that so go ahead to edit video background remover again and I'm going to fast forward this as it processes the background removal all right and we are back let's uh play the video and see how well it worked I don't know if you can notice this on YouTube but there are a couple of errors here around the edges of the uh of the head right and honestly this is because the background wasn't very clean it wasn't a clear simple one color wall like we had in this case right here but to be fair it's very hard to actually notice any issues but if you want if you want a super clean perfect job which you know some of you might you need to make sure you feed it very good video input which means you want to record yourself against the simple background usually a wall and preferably of a collar that looks a little bit different than what you're wearing or your skin tone so that you can actually have a lot of contrast between the subject and the background which is this case here on on the right with this uh with this video while here on the left it wasn't that obvious so there was like Furniture there's like a lot of objects behind so the background removal didn't work that well it was not perfect I mean let's maybe you can see it right here like it removes a little bit of the ear sometimes um so nothing too crazy but it's just not always perfect I mean I think this is still usable no problem at all you can just easily crop this like this put it somewhere in a corner let's say here and I think it works super super well nobody will really notice and nobody will really care but I'm just showing you two examples of what's possible all right so this is how you remove the background from a video in canva hope you enjoyed it if you would like access to a library of professionally animated gif images that you can use directly in canva with drag and drop Simplicity to build engaging and dynamic explainer animation videos make sure to visit videoplasty.com the world's only animation first stock platform
