call me who texts me and who leave me emails and say Scott you're confusing me I am folks for the beginners a lot of us professional Detailers on youtubes a lot of us professional detail is that hang out on forums we will argue back and forth with other professional detailer sometimes below the comments section in my videos you'll see some of us more advanced users but go Scott you can't use this you should use that for the beginners stop listening to us will only confuse you where we're all just trying to figure it out trying to bash each other up it's it's so stupid it's so silly for the beginner I want to get you in here and get over the fear of polishing paint and I think I have something that's gonna be very easy for you to understand when it comes to what is the best compound for a beginner what is the best polish I want to simplify your life and I want to make you a guarantee if you follow everything I tell you I will I will promise you you will get amazing results what I have in my hand folks it's not men's erna it's not just car it's not the last cut it's not sewn ax cut max its grils complete compound this compound here you can buy it autozone one of the reasons why I love it one of the reasons why I will recommend it is because all of you can get your hands on it you can walk into autozone buy a twelve dollar bottle go home and get ready to get your feet wet when it comes to pain correction you got to get over this hump a lot of gets a lot of you tell me you're scared I get it I honor your fear I was afraid to okay what we're gonna do I'm gonna quickly tell you how versatile this product is okay breo's complete compound once you become more advanced as a beginner as a beginner you typically want to stay with foam pads these aren't all that aggressive you're not going to burn through clear coat okay guys but once you've mastered your foam pads and you're like Scott I think I want to go after deep deep deeper defects here is a wool pad that goes on a da Rio's complete compound put on a wolf head is really nice you can go after deep defects what's really nice about wool versus microfiber it will keep the paint cooler through the buffing cycle which is really important we'll talk about that in a you know a future video griot is complete compound with the Maguire's cutting disc is really an amazing kind of winner especially on really hard clear code I did a job not too long ago for one of my clients yes I used this professionally I used the microfiber disc but griot is complete compound on a very hard clear coat on a Chevy Corvette I was able to one-step the paint pull off some pretty nasty defects and had tremendous shining gloss after where I did not have to polish pretty versatile I loved it great product for a beginner now I'm going to talk about the foam pads that are on the market doesn't matter which ones you like maybe you like lay country maybe you like buff and shine I'm going to show you the Americana pads you don't have to buy them but I'm just gonna use them as a demo the yellow pad is a lot like the color coat is a lot like with Chemical Guys right they have the yellow pad which is their most aggressive cut when it comes to a foam pad americana global yellow pad with Rio's complete compound can go after some really nice defects and finish out really well you decide whether or not you even have to polish after that's a really nice effect for most paints out there then we have the orange pad right everybody has these grilles has them Chemical Guys has the buff and shine has them this is americanas this is a medium cut for the beginner out there that wants to do a one-step on most paint systems as a beginner if you team up breo's complete compound with the orange pad you can go around your car one step back and go holy crap I think I'm a pro guess what guys you're almost there it really is that simple stop listening to us pros as beginner stop listening to us we will confuse you will tell you this one's better than that I don't want you to get caught up in that rat race we're creating as pros I'm not doing you any favors as a pro on YouTube I want to get you in here and cut and paint I want to get your feet wet I want to cut your teeth and I want to do it the s way possible that gives you the greatest experience and gets you moving there's a black finish pad on this paint or on this panel Scott why do you have a black finish pad don't you use a finish polish with it I'll tell you a trick with grills complete compound the compound within this bottle can be used on a black finished pad with no pressure on the machine speed for and lightly go with the goal over the panel you can get really nice shiny gloss it can be like a double punch for you it can be your compound and your polish totally up to you you don't even have to go out and get another polish if you don't have if you don't want to what I'm gonna do folks is just show my beginners I'm gonna work in a small 18 by 18 area I'm gonna use the Americana global aggressive foam pad I'm gonna put it on my grills machine the grills machine is great for beginners this is the griot 6-inch orbital polisher I happen to have a five-inch backing plate on it that's cool we'll talk about that another time but you can buy these things at autozone great for a beginner right you can get the compound and the polish or compound and the machine at autozone if you don't have the money for this go to Harbor Freight get a small get the six inch dual action polisher amazing bang for your buck you'll get the same results now what I'm gonna do for my beginners I want you to shake up the compound always make sure you shake it up if it's been sitting for a while okay I'm gonna take the cello pad and I'm gonna put four little pea-sized drops for the beginners I want you to put four pea-sized drops this product here has got really nice lubrication you can do eight section passes with it nine section passes it's gonna get you through the buffing cycle but all I want my beginners to do is work in an eighteen by eighteen area do not work in a 2x2 area this might be too big for the beginner keep the polisher within your body you want to control the polisher you don't want the polisher controlling you okay I'm working on a junkyard hood I'm not gonna worry about the court but typically you would put the court over your shoulder what I'm gonna do is spread the product out on speed too and then after that after that I'm gonna go to speed five I'll talk to you in a second so now I have the product spread out on speed 2 I'm gonna work that small little area now I'm going to go to speed 5 a lot of people say to me Scott as a beginner how much pressure should I apply on the machine I'm gonna make it really simple for you guys use use ten pounds of pressure use 15 pounds of pressure for a beginner I want you to think about this it's gonna be very silly when you go into a hotel room and you go I wonder how soft the pillow is and you put pressure on the pillow that's the same amount of pressure I want you to put on this polisher as a beginner you don't have to put 10 pounds 15 pounds don't overthink it just like pressure now what I'm gonna do on speed 5 with light pressure like I'm checking the pillow in the hotel how silly is that right now with speed 5 I'm gonna do five section passes I may just go left and right all the way down and then I may do left and rights all the way back up you can do cross hatch patterns whatever you want just make sure you have even distribution of the product in that 18 by 18 area and you've hit all areas of the panel we tell you to do cross hatch patterns left and right and up and down just so that we can guarantee you that you've covered all the areas in that in that 18 by 18 area but here I go four to five section passes light pressure speed five [Music] plenty of lubrication throughout the buffing cycles in a five section pass you notice I went left to right and I did a little down one then over just get uniform coverage all over that 18 by 18 area very little to no dusting with this product that's why it's great for a beginner you won't be chasing your tail trying to clean up after yourself as you do pain correction always make sure when you're running the polisher keep the pan as flat as you can on the surface of the pain very little pressure as a beginner okay now what I'm gonna do is wipe up this product one of the reasons why I like this product for a beginner is not only because it's so user friendly to use on the surface of the paint with plenty of lubrication and some really nice results it's easy to wipe off the panel you're just gonna go in here lightly buff off this paint and you have removed that compound it's very easy and not gonna be sitting here forever trying to fight that compound off the paint very nice user experience okay that is going to give you amazing results for a beginner yes maybe in the future you want to get into Jeff's car maybe you want to get into all this other fancy stuff cause pros argue about but don't overthink it don't listen to us we're just making it worse for you now if you wanted to if you looked at the paint and said boy I want a little bit more shine and gloss you can take a black finishing pad put it on your dual action polisher right you're gonna put three or four dots on this pad and then when you go in here you're gonna work that same 18 by 18 area tap your product out but now you want to run on speed 4 you don't need speed 5 now you need no pressure at all just work that polish over and force in that 4 section passes in that 18 by 18 area and then wipe off the panel and you'll be you'll be amazed of what you can do as a beginner folks as a professional detailer another pro detail is on YouTube well wet sand the panel will allow you with removing wet sanding marks folks wet sanding marks for a bit for the beginner even for some of you more advanced users or maybe you adults go wow that's amazing he removed 1500 grit 2,000 grit let me tell you something compounds when it comes to removing wet sandy marks it's not that difficult wet sandy marks are very uniform than pattern it's a very uniform scratch pattern they're very flat on the surface removing wet sandy marks doesn't give you the true picture of what any compound or polish can do it can give you an indicator of what it can do but there's stuff on the panels like the brids compression scratches straight lines sharp scratches just because the compound can remove 1,500 or 2,000 grit sanding marks does not mean it's going to remove some of those deeper defects on the paint there's no reason to wow a beginner I just want you to get in here and cut your teeth these pads you pick the ones that you like as you get more advanced you feel more comfortable you can start to go with more aggressive pads with this compound folks it is a really great way for the beginner to learn paint correction you're not gonna burn through clear code follow those simple steps the only way you're gonna burn through clear code is if you had an aggressive pad and you sat in one area for minutes at a time none of you would do it most of you beginners are afraid to even go in here and just lightly go across the paint just get it out of your head okay I promise you you're not gonna burn through clear code especially with a foam pad and a compound like Rios complete compound but it really can't be that simple folks okay I love all my beginners I love all my weekend warriors Scott you're confusing us is it just car is its own axis is the last cut which one I need to know don't listen to us we're making it worse for you just follow these simple simple instructions with this compound get going and then I want to have a conversation with you in a couple months and you go Scott I think I'm ready for something else cool we all have to start somewhere I was afraid as a beginner somebody helped me through it I want to help you I love you all
