Chad and I have been eating watermelon since they came on this season and we have not had a bad watermelon not yet and I don't know if it's because the Watermelons over here are just the best and I think they are or if it's because Chad knows how to pick a watermelon and I think he does so the pressure is on you right now Chad it's been a little bit of luck I think as well however what what I've seen and talked to some people and they they say what is when you're picking a watermelon you want a heavy one if it fits heavy that means there's a lot of water in it and it's they're they're good and they're they're ready another thing you see a lot of people doing is thumping them or or platinum and I don't know what they're looking for or listening for but maybe it's kind of like a hollow thud um so that that's so if you hear that and if this is a good one that's what you're looking for if it's bad that's what you're not looking for but the other thing that everyone says that you're looking for kind of a yellow spot and that means that it's been sitting and when it ripens that's yellow because it hasn't gotten any sun and so that's a good thing and I always like finding these here and serve you with a little pigtail on with the you know the vine is still there hasn't dried up and fallen off so it's not overly ripe it's been freshly picked yeah it's been freshly picked and the other thing this one here doesn't have a lot of it on it and I think that's just dirt yeah is you're looking for Scruff marks and this one doesn't have any but then we looked for them but this I couldn't find any in this batch I like it they look like this yeah they look like a lot of them but this is just dirt yeah but you're looking for uh kind of deformities or or uh just a break yeah scars on your watermelon and a lot of people look at that say oh no that that's yucky no that's what you want or scars on your Watermelon plus if you find one that has little bits of sap or stickiness on them that's a good thing because bees have been stinging it because they're sweet again this one didn't have any but that's why we're hoping this is going to be a good one it doesn't hurt to have a little dirt on it yeah well it's fun and I was going to say that you see all this dirt on here mud these things are fresh out of the field they're probably picked and brought to the market that you know they're probably less than yeah two or three miles four or five miles from the the market so well now that's see there's dirt all over the cabin right here so that's what I know about picking watermelons plus you need to pick a small one I used to want to pick the great big ones the first one I got was you know the big family size watermelon but I learned real quick those are too heavy to carry very far so we've been getting the smaller ones that this will last Jennifer and I two or three days but Jennifer's going to show you how to cut it up and make it easy to eat well one more thing well one more thing about a whole bunch of things I'm going to tell you but Chad and I need to be eating a watermelon over the next couple days because he and I have been traveling in the car a lot lately I we are off of our routine and I can feel it in my face I can feel us we've been eating junk because we've been in the car sitting and when you're in the car sitting you know you buy stuff you should well we don't just go out in the car and sit and eat jug we've been traveling yeah yeah yes we have so there's the pot s and the yeah garbage yeah just a bunch of garbage so we are going to eat a lot of watermelon over the next few days and see if we can't get our um swelling to go back down watermelon goes through me like like a duck too much too oh the thing that I I bet these watermelons at least ones we've been getting is that these have seeds and I miss watermelons in America that don't have seeds though they seem to be flavorless and not very good these here have black seeds in them and so I'm excited yeah I've noticed that too back home we they they what the big selling point is oh these are seedless watermelons and tasteless yeah seedless and tasteless but yeah and I'm going to show you here I'll just do it just do it just get get after it so Chad and I shop at two specific stores here in in Belgrade we shop at Maxi a lot and we also shop at lidl's and we like both of them for a different reasons Lidl has the the best drinkable yogurt and I think Maxie has well they both have really good vegetables and they're comfortable to lidl's has a parking lot and that is really nice when you're buying watermelons especially you don't have to carry them uh Maxi it's just walkable they don't have a parking lot unless you go to the one with the mall okay so I saw my sister cut a watermelon this way and I have never gone back she just she cuts the ends off okay this watermelon's a little bit pink Chad I don't know if it's going to be ripe enough and she cuts the ends off yep it's kind of pink but we'll see we'll see oh it's good and heavy though foreign instead of cutting it into slices she'll cut the outside right off and with me and The Limited space I have to work with here this is how I like to do it how's it look yep and just cut it as close as you can then you go back and trim off any white sure looks pretty good but I just find that it it's really a clean way and you don't waste you don't waste a lot well and I was gonna say the one of the keys to this is to have a nice sharp knife yeah this is so soft oh you gotta it's really good it's really good you're not going to share you're gonna because it was a little pink not quite as red as they have been that it might not be quite right but this is like Dead on okay so you want to hear that deep thumping Hollow sound then yes please okay what do you think nope it's good huh okay the next the next demonstration on this is debatable because sometimes I'll cut the thing in half like this and um just so I can manage it on this little cutting board and set one to the side oh I'm gonna have to eat that no this looks this looks absolutely fabulous so just make it manageable thank you let me cut it one more time I don't have a lot of working space here my cutting board's really small it's like they're cutting into these little triangles and then I oh I got this really cool um container one of the stores here and I was happy to get it and I bought five of them five or five because we have we we served the missionaries at Zone conference about every six weeks and you'd need a lot of Tupperware and I don't really have Tupperware over here but they did have these and this was pretty cool so I was happy to get that and this is how I do it for the missionaries because then it's all cut up I don't have to uh worry about the Rhine I don't have to have big garbage sacks handy they and they eat it up it doesn't matter if I put two of these or three out they'll eat them all I have a question for you are you team salt or no salt do you like to have salt on your watermelon I think it just makes the watermelon explode we love salt on our watermelon and if you've never tried it with a little bit of salt oh you're missing out I like salt on my watermelon I like salt on my little green apple and I like um salt on my is it salt yeah salt on my grapefruit so Chad and I told you that we have been traveling a lot lately and we have we've we haven't been doing our exercises either sorry coach Chris but we will get back onto those uh anyway we have had a an assignment to go to Slovenia that you've maybe heard on the news all of the terrible floods that they have been experiencing in Slovenia and so we are going to be there for a couple of weeks we've been there we've come back we're waiting for a truckload of of materials to arrive and when we think that it'll show up we'll show up just the day before those materials arrive and help get those distributed but um it's going to be quite uh an adventure for us to be over there and I've got well we've got a lot of Stories We want to tell you about that wonderful place yeah well it's about a five and a half hour drive here from Belgrade to uh Ljubljana and Celia um Slovenia where we've been focusing our efforts on the flood relief but then after two days there we drove back home and turned around the very next day and drove down to Bella palanca here in Serbia to close out a project that us and The Sovereign order of the of Malta did there with the health center we had donated between the two of us we donated a dental chair and a couple of Auto claims for sterilizing dental equipment and then a cauterizing tool for when they're working on gums so it was just a lot of fun to go down there and visit with the mayor and a couple of dignitaries that were invited to that little celebration and dinner a lot of a lot of fun a lot of happy smiles now that will happen because of the the new Dell equipment that they have down there and when he says we donated he means the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who we represent yeah that's it I know it's hot I need watermelon you know what just hearing us talk about it makes me tired it's been a big week that uh hair repeated back I'm like yeah no wonder we're tired yeah we will see you again soon thanks for your love and support we love you guys yeah bye-bye
