How to pack for 7 days using carry on luggage with the help of packing compression cubes.

hey guys welcome to the channel today we're gonna try and figure out how we're gonna fit all of this into a carry-on welcome back now so welcome back guys and uh all right shoot this dark sucks man huh this is harder than i thought it was this is really hard welcome back my name is carrie of batman travels and if you're interested in travel related content you found the right place if you're not i have a new video so that you don't miss out you know anyways on today's video i'll pretty much be trying to figure out how to fit seven days worth of clothing in a carry-on let's tell you what the items are that we're trying to fit in this carry-on luggage we have two shoes nine underwear nine shirts six socks four hats two swim trunks three shorts one sweatpants one dress pant two jeans we're gonna try and fit that into a standard carry-on luggage first thing we're gonna go into is the products that i will use to help this process of packing a checked bag for one week what's the thing called shoe compression packing tubes not compression packing tubes but compression packing tubes so hard compression packing cubes this is a company called tripped i'm going to have all the information about these products um i'm going to leave them right near the what is that section called down there you know what it's all about and then we have this one right here by pete design this is my favorite this is a beauty okay it's a little bit more expensive than these but it's worth it and then i have these templates right here um i will show you what i do with these it'll make sense later so all the stuff i listed earlier they're all going to fit in this bag here it's called e-bags pretty standard carry-on but i really like this bag and i'll show you once i start packing the stuff why is that i really like this bag let's just dive right into it and start packing this bag so let's talk about these templates first okay so i created this template based on the interior size of the packing tube it's shaved off probably about two inches on each side what am i going to use this thing so i'm going to use this template to fold my clothes all right as tightly as i can which will keep the shape right that will fit directly into the packing cube once i'm done so i'm gonna show you i align this so you can see right here with the edge all right give me enough space here where i can fold this over so i fold that over right tug on this a little bit to keep it really nice and tight then fold this end over as well all right you might have this little thing here if you have that you can just tuck that under because you want to have this thing conform to the shape of the packing cube you have the next shorts and secondly guys these shorts here they're lightweight the lighter the shorts are the better it is for you if you have the big denim carver jeans or reach don't pass your knee it's too much fabric it's too thick and you should probably purchase some and these are cheap you know these are cheap i think i paid like 20 bucks for these anyways let's keep it going right nice and tight usually i go for the t-shirts next and you want to start with a smaller size t-shirt and then work your way up to the bigger one usually i'll flip this bad boy over all right and i'll put it in the middle right make sure it is equal sides length on each side then we fold it over right you get that first fold and then you want to pull this real tight you know so what we're doing here is we're using the clothes themselves to form compression [Music] to get all the air out as much as the air out as possible actually so you want to pull this as tight as possible okay fold this over like you're swaddling this stuff like a baby you understand so you keep going until it's super tight and the good thing about this guys is that this keeps your clothes nice and wrinkle free so this is what it looks like it's looking like thus far i don't know how many t-shirts i've gone already but i got a few more to go i'm island this is how i make i'm an island boy i'm actually a island boy i'm from kingston jamaica so i don't know why anybody hating on them dudes man they figured out a way to make it let them live we're just going along strolling along beautiful beautiful now some people might think that the rolling technique is best i don't because when you roll you know you might roll up a pair of jeans or thick jeans or a pair of shorts or some t-shirts and they all roll into different sizes then when you try and stuff that into uh your packing tube it's not uniform like this is see it's uniform all the way around it's lumps you know what i mean and then those rolls creates air pockets and you're you're just really not utilizing space as well it's way better than any other technique in my opinion y'all could try let me know what you think in the comments that's what they be saying on youtube let me know what you think in the comments so i guess that's what i to say too i just want to state that this is a little bit different from men than it is for women women fitting clothes should be easier because their garments are usually smaller you know lighter weight you know they got like little chiffon dresses sundress that they'd be wearing that'd be blowing in the wind looking so beautiful on them stuff like that thongs you know they could pack like 100 thongs in a suitcase and it could fit in your sneakers now on the other hand use a little bit more fabric definitely not dogs well not all men [Music] ah look at that look at that behemoth it looks like a beautiful pillow and uh by the way guys if you feel as though i'm giving you valuable information here please like and share this video please do it helps out my struggling channel quite a bit all right so we're finished with the shirts we have made a beautiful pillow it is super compact what are we gonna do next i'm gonna start with this these pants right here so make sure i'm gonna show you on this side uh that the edge of this is the pants is lined up with the edge off i'm gonna call it the pillow from that way and you pull this over okay then you you you pull that taut nice and tight i'm going to add another jeans to the mix excuse me i got coated so i'm supposed to go to ghana tomorrow and uh i can't go because i got the vid we gotta we gotta get this real taut so we we're gonna push this in put it real tight and that's that now the next pants i'm gonna do it this way look at these bad boys oh and i put these on so ladies love it we're gonna line up look at the tv right here the edge see that camera man with that i don't have another camera there i just have another camera but it sounds good all right here we go ha [Music] ha ha beautiful very nice i saved these pants for last they're very elastic right and i use this as a final compression layer so i'm gonna pull this tight so it squeezes everything all the air out gets everything nice and tight and taut i'm going to show you again on this side that we have it lined up perfectly with the edge right here so what we're going to do is time to stuff this in here now the thing i love about this peat design compression cube it has this fabric right here and you can see it and the fabric when you close and you compress it it allows the air to escape through here and it has a little elasticity as well so if some of your stuff is like poking out then uh it's okay i'm stuffing it in right like a big girl in spandex no matter how big the girl is if it's spandex eventually she'll fit ah it's a little struggle man but i promise you once you get it in we are golden time to zip up there we go all right the beautiful thing is you don't have to go all the way around with the zipper you have two zippers one goes this way the other one goes that way so you have to struggle with it let's go there you go huh and honestly it's not gonna compress any more than this but i'm really od right but if you were to put less stuff in here you could definitely zip that zipper up and compress this really nice and thin on to the next step all right guys so the first step in trying to pack the suitcase is to get the underwear in these bags that have to handle there are ridges in here that store the handles which causes these little channels in here where you can store stuff that's where you should store your underwear that way you're gonna take away from the space in the back so now that you have those in there it doesn't take away from the space of the suitcase because anything you lay on top it will never get in those ridges so it would have been dead space so that's that's beautiful now that the underwear is in we're gonna put that first packing cube in we're gonna put i'm gonna put it right here okay we still have some space here what are we gonna put in there well we're gonna put these sneakers of course now you might say to yourself why are you gonna pack these sneakers why don't you just wear them personally for me i like to be comfortable when i go on a flight i don't like wearing sneakers or shoes because i have to take them off when you go through security i like wearing slides so normally what you're supposed to do is wear your bigger shoes or bulkier shoes that doesn't have any give no play you should wear them on your feet not i but i'm gonna use these shoes as storage as well why because i have socks we're gonna stuff our socks in the shoes dress socks i love these i love colorful i socks we're good on the socks now i have this wonderful company i'ma shout them out they're called actively black and they have some of the dopest activewear and when they ship the stuff they give you these little bags yeah i mean so i use that for my shoes okay let's open our suitcase back up and we're gonna tuck this in like so right trust me it's gonna fit we have a second pair of shoes so we gotta fit into the suitcase as well so here is a tip for you when you're gonna pack your sneakers the sneakers you should pack is these these fabric sneakers that collapse easily right look at that profile once it collapses just so it doesn't have the upper and all that stuff that's going to take up space in your suitcase um these sneakers are actually um these are both legs okay of the yeezys and uh i just i just feel like i like how they look but i'm not trying to spend 300 hours on sneakers so you know i went to china route and i bought these for 50 bucks they worked well for me so here we go again [Music] here we go again and we're gonna put it there let's get this on this side so you can see and this spot right here okay there is a little area right here that i can fold up the swim trunk and put it right there it's not a big deal and that's its spot right there okay and then [Applause] this little area right here i can tuck my swim trunk right here i can top another pair of shorts that i forgot to pack in this but i don't think i'm gonna fit right here let's try and close this thing up is it gonna close let's find out what i forgot to show you guys is that if i need more space i unzip this this is the compression zip that's built in to the suitcase it gives you this little bit more space to work with right now i can easily zip this up and guys i haven't touched the front compartment yet there's a whole compartment in here i'm gonna go ahead and use a compression zip to compress the suitcase excuse me sorry i got covered all right the only things i have left sorry i got covey these right here i have understood i'm a cap loving brown braid so i got caps hats and caps and this one on my head i'm gonna put it in there as well i'm gonna use a compression cube on this as well i have here a template as well here we go to use for this packing cube just like we did with the t-shirts and we fold and we fold and we fold okay and we fold and we do that for the rest of the wide beaders i'm just going to alternate it so we have completed all the undershirts and we're gonna now unzip it or uncompress it so that we have a deeper pocket to push into that was simple this is it uncompressed now let's compress shall we there you go there you go look at that perfect when you look at this because we fold it in this way it's very even as far as you have too many lumps it maintains the same shape this is why i love these packages where are we gonna put them [Applause] so we're gonna go ahead and open this compartment we're going to fit this in this way now you're going to shove it all the way you're trying to use as much every nook and cranny that's in this bag yes yes i'm sweating and everything there [Music] that's pretty compressed and then we have more space over here to fit stuff zip this bad boy up oh hang it i forgot the caps [Music] we're gonna use another compression bag we have here this hat you know guys we'll take this off i'm sweating as hell i'm gonna put that here all right there you go hats cats everything bring this back up here or we can tuck this open this compression strap up holy cow look at that and then that's it all right ah we have fish it all in and the carry-on theory what about
