[Music] [Music] was that me guys Daenerys from zebrano wood craft and welcome back to my workshop where you are always more than welcome it's been a while since I filmed and uploaded anything I'm sorry I've just been mega busy so if you are ever worried that I've disappeared then basically just come on follow me that's my love wood craft on Instagram as I'm on there pretty much most days and you can keep up with my day-to-day activities but I decided to film this video because I woke up last night after having a nightmare and that nightmare was that I forgot my girlfriend's birthday it's the busiest time of year but I've got just a few days to make her a lovely present so I thought I'd rack up the silversmiths and stuff and get the camera out because we're gonna make her a lovely spinner ring [Music] so here are the ingredients for the ring first up coffee lots of coffee in this lovely alien mug which is the most appetizing thing you could see in the morning secondly I've got the scrap piece of silver this is about 10 mill wide I think this is the perfect width and I should just have enough to make the base of my spinner ring for the actual spinny bits I've got some of this 1.6 mill square silver wire and I've done some calculating calculating she's a size 9.5 now there's gonna be a 10 mil wide ring so I've just figured out basically how much silver I'll need to use using this equation so I'm about to treat you to a lovely sewing montage and then we'll get this baby ready for some solder in one of the most satisfying bits of working with the sheet silver is actually peeling this plastic off I don't know it's so satisfying alright so we've got our bit of sheet cut and I think that should be enough to make the room now we need to get ready to solder this piece of metal has already been annealed so it's really soft all I've got to do is just kind of preform it around this socket so I'll get it ready to salt [Music] groovy so after the soldiering I've got this which looks like an absolute freakin mess but now we're gonna make this into a ring shape actually before I do any like hammering or anything like that I'm actually gonna stick this into a pickling solution which will like clean off any odd nasty oxidization and a few bits of the solder PQ first up let's make it round with better hammering not looking to wring shape right now but now we can fit it onto the mandrel [Applause] [Music] [Music] all right here's the ring after a few grits of Emery paper I wanted to kind of hide the seam on the inside so you can't see that and I hide the seam on the outside but what I'm gonna do now is just whip over this with a few polishing compounds - polishing compounds Tripoli and Rouge and then we'll do some texturing I'm gonna take this ball-peen hammer use this edge here to put some texture on the outside of the Ring I love the way that that works out looks so cool already lovely family texture I'll probably go over and I'll clean up the inside again and do polish it again a bit later on but for now this make the outside spinors all right so those two little spinner bits they've gone into the pickle and eventually they'll look something a bit lag this mm-hmm so it's just a really thin hammered version of the the ring that you seen before so now we're gonna try and flare out the edges of the ring I've uh kneeled this that's why it looks all dirty and weird and basically gonna try and flare out this edge of the ring so that we can put on the outdoor spinners most people are sensible people all would do this with a rounded a pin block but I don't have one so I'm gonna try to use the end of this mandrel there's metal aluminium mandrel and hopefully fingers crossed it's gonna work let's give it a try yeah looks pretty flared out to me probably good idea of me to polish this outside before huh for a to the other flag all right everything fits on there nicely this flare up this other side [Music] nice whoa well that was a really fun project in the end I polished everything with two polishing compounds so Tripoli first then Rouge did that just with the rotary tool and this came out really cool spot on on size then you go like a cool spinning action so now I'm just gonna go and take some nice photos and give this the Danny tomorrow and hopefully she'll like it if you liked the video give it a thumbs up and subscribe and share it and all the other normal YouTube malarkey and I'll see you in the next one
