if you don't have the time to make traditional canned pickles I'm going to show you how to make quick refrigerator pickles pickling calls for Brine and that starts with vinegar I'm gonna heat some up in a small saucepan to that I'm going to add my salt and enhance the flavor with a few spices the little Mustard Seed is classic for pickles and I'm a spice fanatic so some red pepper flake you just want this on some gentle heat until that salt's dissolved and these flavors are combined well that brine is heating up I'm going to cut my cucumbers and get my jars ready layer my jars with some cucumber some sliced garlic and a little bit of Dill this needs to be diluted with water and cooled but I like to pour it into a bowl speed that process up with some ice this will prevent the pickles from cooking and they'll have a crisper bite and give your brine a little taste to make sure your flavors are on point all that's left to do is fill our jars and add enough brine until all the cucumbers are covered refrigerate these for 24 hours and then they're ready this method isn't for long-term preservation these should last in the refrigerator up to a month
