foreign version of this dancing shoes video using cap cut which is totally free here's the one we'll be making today [Music] so grab your dancing shoes and let's get started [Music] two important things for this you need your shoes and your socks the shoes ideally you want to be taller than running shoes so whatever you have that's tall and the socks have to be a solid color the socks can't be black or white and they have to be taller than the shoes that you're wearing you could also use leggings or pants if they're a solid color and they tuck into the shoes these are my fox socks that I found at the dollar store so if you don't have colored socks you can find them for three dollars you want to set up your camera from a low angle so that you're not looking down on the shoes if you shoot from a high angle when you remove your legs it will look like the back portion of the shoe is missing shooting from a lower angle helps to avoid this issue altogether now we film here just have fun with it and make your shoes dance however you want them to dance just remember that if you're planning to be in the background of the video make sure you stay on one side only now we need to record a video to go in the background of the dancing shoes so if you want just the shoes by themselves you can record a blank background just like this or if you want to spice things up you can film a video of yourself in it reacting to the shoes like this since I filmed the shoes dancing on the left half of the screen I record the reaction on the right side so that they won't overlap now that we have our footage let's get editing open up cap cut select new project and click on your background footage this will either be the blank video or the video with you in it then hit add next we're going to click on overlay add overlay and select the footage of the shoes dancing I'm just going to split the screen in two so it's easier to see use two fingers to expand the image until you see the white liner On the Border that means it's in place now let's scroll forward so you can see the shoes scroll along the bottom and click on cutout there are two options at the bottom there's remove background or customized cutout both of them work pretty well but I found that using a combination of the two is what works best so that's what I'm going to show you how to do so first we're going to go remove background this does exactly what it sounds like it detects your body and then deletes the background behind you perfect now we're going to click on curl McKee in the bottom right this is where the colored socks come in handy just drag the tool over the sock to automatically select it the chroma key doesn't really work with black or white so that's why you have to pick a color now click on intensity and drag the slider until just the socks have disappeared so right about there and you can adjust the shadow as well to bring a little more detail back into the shoes as you can see it's not perfect there's still bits of the shoes missing in the bottoms for sure so we're going to fix that next to get rid of the rest of the body above the socks we go back slide over to mask select split and use one finger on each side to rotate that around so that it's only showing the shoes [Music] so now we're going to go back to beginning add overlay and select the boots again use two fingers to drag it up and let's see now here we're going to go to cut out and select customize cutouts this is the other option you just color in the object that you want it to cut out so in our case the shoes this one takes longer to process so we're just going to skip through it the main difference with this one is that the edges are not as sharp and clear but it does get more coverage in the middle of the shoe than the first method did so that's why I like combining the two together now let's add a mask which go to split mask flip it over and here you can really see the difference between the Edge from the first method versus this one this method still caught a little bit of the sock at the top so I'm just going to start this mask right below the top of the shoes nice so now we need to add back the bottom of the shoe and the reflection on the ground too so we're gonna go out overlay add the boot video again scale it up and this time we're going to go straight to mask click on rectangle this is why if you decide to be in the video you want to make sure that you and the dancing shoes are on two opposite sides not overlapping so you don't have to worry about accidentally cutting yourself off use the double arrow on the bottom of the box to feather it out this will blend out the edges so that's not a harsh line we want to keep this mask just below the top of the shoes so that we don't accidentally add some of the sock back in so right about there now that the Shadow and reflection have been added back in it doesn't look like the boots are floating anymore this looks pretty good and if you're happy with it you can stop here but I'm going to show you a couple more steps to make it look even more realistic the next thing I want to do is get rid of the subtle leg outline that's coming from the shoes we're going to go add overlay and we're going to add the background video in so the video without the boots dancing let's go up to size press and hold and drag that over so it starts at the right time click and we're gonna go mask and create a rectangle mask again smaller so now this is taking part of the background putting it over top so now it's covering the boots safe so we just want it small enough to go right on top to cover up the leg outline because the boots don't move at the exact same time the height is not the same so I can't just put it straight across like this otherwise one of them will be cutting cut off so we're going to do each boot separately start this here and press the keyframe button here now since we've hit the keyframe button once anytime we make an adjustment it'll remember that so the mask will move as the video Moves to go back to mask and move it up because we hit the keyframe it will remember the positions we put it in so it will know that back here it starts down goes up [Music] but again as the boot comes forward so we want to make sure we're covering up the outline but not cutting off the shoe just keep applying this method until you've done it over the entire video it's a little bit time consuming but if you have a few extra minutes it makes it look that much better I'm just going to fast forward through so you don't have to sit there and watch me do it once that's done we're going to go back to the beginning and I just want this piece out of the way when the shoes jump in so that it's not cutting them off so we're just going to split the track right as the shoes are jumping in and delete the first part so we don't have to worry at all about our Square being in the way will the shoes jump in now we're going to create an overlay of the background video again and do the same thing on the other shoe let's go to size there we go now I have all of my mask keyframes in for the second boot two more details I want to do really quick and then we're done the first is cleaning up the jump in you can see we're losing a bit of detail on the boots as they move we're going to click on the custom cutouts layer which is the second one because this effect did a much better job at capturing the shoes in motion we're just going to split this layer right where the shoes land now in the first clip we're going to change the mask to a rectangle then just move it on top of the area where the shoes jump in and that's all now when the boots jump in we're not losing any detail and the last thing we're going to do is tap on the logo that Capcom automatically adds and just hit delete now you can hit the up arrow in the top right corner to export and here's the final result [Music] if you try this out let me know how it goes down in the comments below and I'll see you next time bye [Music]
