HOW TO MAKE HALLOWEEN MASKS FOR KIDS | Create a Halloween Paper Craft with Bri Reads

[Music] it's me free reads hi friends it's me bree today let's create some halloween masks like this [Music] today i'm making character masks for my song what will you be if you'd like to create with me you can find this printable page on my website linked below now let's get started today i'm making a cat a ghost a witch a bat and a pumpkin i'm starting with my template then i'll need scissors glue my favorite beeswax crayons i'll put a link in the description box different colors of paper to add decorations and sticks i'm using skewers you can also use chopsticks or even popsicle sticks now i printed my template from the computer the paper is quite flimsy so i'm going to glue it to a hard piece of cardstock this will give it the support we need to wear it as a mask there nice and strong now i'm going to cut out the mask shapes i'll teach you how i cut out the eyes i go to the center of the eyeball and bend slightly not a full fold down nope just a gentle bend then i take my scissors and make a small cut right in the middle [Music] i do the same on this side bend and snip then i'll use my scissors to go in the cut and all the way around the eye hole notice how my scissors stay in the same position it's my hand that's moving the paper around in a circle [Music] i'll repeat these steps on the next mask shape even though this one's shaped differently the method is the same snip a little hole go in and cut around now you can repeat this process as many times as you'd like to get your desired number of masks i made a variety of circle eyes and cat eyes speaking of cats my first design will be a cat face i'm creating with this bright orange color around the eye and a lighter orange underneath [Music] then i go in with gray to make lines for the eyebrows and on the forehead [Music] next i'm going to be adding some extra paper this is for my cat's ears i line it up with the mask to make sure the size is about right i fold my paper in half that way my two ears will turn out exactly the same now that's two ears i make sure i like it and then i move on to the inside of the ear again fold the paper cut it out until you've got two pieces [Music] i'll glue those together and with one last color a lighter orange i'm going to fold and make another design this will be a furry spot inside the ears glue down [Music] and next i made a nose with this lighter orange color [Music] i put the nose onto black paper and cut around a shape i like next it was time to color the mask in my halloween cat is black i added some yellow stars and sparkles and then filled in the rest [Music] next it was time to glue on my nose and ears [Music] the last step is to turn it around and tape on my stick this is what i'll use to hold the mask at my eyes now let's sing what will you be what will you be what will you be for halloween i want to be a cat meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow ing purring with delight scratching and hissing what a fright many characters you can be what will you be for halloween now let's make another character i want to be a ghost for my ghost design i'll be using a mask with a round eye shape i'm drawing a orange circle and then a black circle around each eye then another black circle in the middle these black circles will really be the letter o we're spelling the word boom [Music] i'll add some yellow stars and sparkles then color in the top of the mask with a light orange color next i'm going to create some extra letters a b on this side i'll use my black crayon to make a letter about the same size as the o i'll add some shadows and color in the paper to be the same as the mask then i'll add one more letter o at the end [Music] and color everything in [Music] next i add my shadows where i want them finish coloring the mask and cut out my new letters once they're glued on it's time to add my stick [Music] all done i want to be a ghost boo [Music] booing swooping through the air my favorite pastime is to scare boo so many characters you can be what will you be for halloween now how about a character who cackles i want to be a witch my witch mask will have a cat eye shape [Music] i'm creating the eyes with purple on the bottom and black on the top [Music] next i'm using a purple crayon to create stars and sparkles then i'll go in with classic witch green and color the whole mask but my witch is missing something my witch needs a hat i'll line it up with this black paper and draw the outline of the hat size i like cut it out make sure it fits and now i'm going to add some details i put an orange band cutting off the extra [Music] with a kind of sash or tail and last i'm using this white paper to make a kind of buckle on the top [Music] [Music] i glue everything down and add some decorations [Music] now this mask is ready for its stick all done will you try singing with me this time let's try ready go what will you be what will you be what will you be for halloween good i want to be a witch stirring mix a brew take to the night sky with my broom so many characters you can be what will you be for halloween now i want to fly what character can fly and says i want to be a bat my bat mask also has cat eyes i'm creating a kind of reddish orangish under eye with gray lines on the top and underneath each eye that go out like this next i'll color in the whole thing black now with some extra black paper i'm going to draw the outline of some bat wings fold the paper in half and when you cut it out you'll have two sides that are the same i realized i need to cut out some eye holes then glue on my mask cut off the extra and add a bat head [Music] this bat will have bright green eyes i'm using my folding trick again so i just have to draw one eye cut it out and they'll be the same next a red mouth this bat is happy some stars and sparkles [Music] and the last step let's tape on the stick tada now let's flap our wings like a bat and sing i want to be a bat spend all night flying around sleep all day upside down so many characters you can be what will you be for halloween now there's just one character left i want to be a character whose face you can carve and change what is it i want to be a pumpkin i started my pumpkin mask with two shades of orange then a ring of orange around each eye a triangle nose some pumpkin lines and a black triangle on top next i used a black piece of paper to trace a stem for my pumpkin [Music] cut it out and got more extra paper for some leaves a larger open leaf and a smaller curling leaf i cut them out found just the right spot and glued everything down [Music] and of course i'll add my stick to finish it off [Music] all ready now let's sing again ready go what will you be what will you be what will you be for halloween i want to be a pumpkin boing boing boing boing boing boing pick me ripe right off the vine carve my face the way you like sad glad awfully mad so many characters you can be what will you be for halloween what will you be what will you be what will you be for halloween great now let's sing that song one more time all together what will you be what will you be what will you be what will you be
