How to Make Buzz Coil Game and 1hr of DIY Science Experiments for kids!

hey guys today i'm playing my favorite video game pac-man oh no oh i'm running away running away no i lost that was so easy how did i lose hmm i'm gonna ask daddy for help daddy what is it ryan i'm playing pac-man but i keep losing ah that's because lack of your focus i used to have the same problem when i was little okay but what did you do to gain focus actually peck the penguin trained me to focus why don't you ask pick for help okay i'm gonna go ask back for help pep peck are you there i need help whoa hey ryan i just woke up from a map what can i help you with so i've been trying to play this game but i keep losing and daddy said that i have lack of focus so i need to train it somehow can you help me oh of course how about a buzzwire super challenge focusing game to help you train okay pack all righty i'm gonna go ask bree for some help on this experiment meanwhile you should practice focusing and meditate okay pack you rang oh good now that you're here you can build the ultimate buzzwire game challenge buzz wire game using a simple circuit we're going to build a game of focus and concentration that sounds like a great idea but first i think we should learn how to make a circuit let's go a simple circuit consists of four main parts a conductor an energy source an electrical load and a switch to make a completed circuit the conductor wire needs to connect the negative side of the energy source or battery to the negative side of the electrical load which in our experiment is a light bulb and buzzer then the conductor wire needs to connect the positive side of our battery to the switch and the switch to our light bulb and buzzer now all that it takes is for the switch to close the circuit and bam we have power this works because the energy flows from the negative side of the battery through the wire and to the light bulb and buzzer some of the energy is converted to power the wrist flows through the wire and the switch back to the positive side of the battery when the switch is turned off the circuit is broken and there's no power because there's a break in the flow of electricity let's see on off on off all right now that you know how it works let's start our build all right now the four main parts of our circuit is this wire which is going to be our conductor this battery which is going to be our energy source the light bulb and the buzzer which is going to be our electrical load and this wire which we're going to use as our switch now pat is doing his midday meditation right now so we are going to go ahead and get started with the face and the structure of our build we are going to use hot glue and cardboard meditating [Music] so we're going to start by plotting out all of our cardboard pieces to make our base and our structure the first part is going to be the main part of our base that's why it's going to be so big because we have to put everything on it and then we're going to make a little stand for our base using these two skinny pieces and lastly we're going to make the walls for the outside [Music] so now that we have all of our pieces bright and colorful it's time to start our assembly we are gonna stick everything together with hot glue now if you're gonna use hot glue make sure to ask an adult for help it's really hot i mean that's in the name i wonder if free is doing okay the first thing we're gonna glue together is the base for our game now we are gonna take these yellow strips and glue them on the back side like this now we're just gonna hold it in place while the glue dries one side down one more to go uh-oh we're getting glue everywhere this is why it's important to ask an adult for help now that that is good and dry we have our base built now all that's left is to add the walls everything is nice and dry which means our base is built now it's time to build our circuit so we're gonna start by connecting our two positive wires that's gonna run from our battery to our light bulb now we need a good tight secure connection so we're gonna twist and twist and twist and twist until it's nice and secure let's check it oh that is really nice and secure now we're going to route our combined positive wires into the positive section of the light bulb and carefully twist it around the screw there we go bend it around now that we have it bent around our screw we're going to tighten our screw to secure that connection in place after that's tightened we should have a really nice secure connection let's test it yep that feels good so now we have our positive wires connected to the positive side of the light bulb now we're going to take the positive wire that we connected to our light bulb and we're going to connect it to the positive wire from our buzzer to do this we're going to have to do the same thing twist and twist and twist and twist and twist some more until we get a nice secure connection now that that is secure we're gonna fold it in half just to make it extra secure and then we are going to make it extra extra secure with some electrical tape so we're going to wrap it nice and tight to help hold our connection in place next we're going to take our negative wire from the buzzer and attach it to you guessed it the negative side of the light bulb we're gonna do the exact same thing thread it around the screw and now we tighten up our screw to secure our connection once that's nice and secure we're ready to attach it to our board so now we have our circuit wired up we've got our energy source our electrical load we have our conductor which is the positive and negative wires connecting it all together all that's left is a switch to turn it on so if we take this wire and we use it as a switch and connect it the circuit is complete now let's take our circuit and stick it to the base all right everything looks good but this circuit is definitely not going to help us improve our focus but you know what will adding lots of twists and turns right in the middle of our circuit [Music] you know what in order to make this thing ultimate this is going to take a while uh maybe come back later one hour later i have finished all of these twists and turns and ups and downs to create the ultimate focus challenge buzz wire game this bad boy is going to take some big focus to get through as you can see i post little holes in the wall for the wire to go through now we're gonna make our switch now for this switch we're gonna use a straw and copper wire so we're gonna start by cutting our copper wire remember kids ask an adult for help especially when working with wire and things like that now i'm going to use this glue stick to make a perfect little loop we're just using it to shape our switch there you go that looks like a circle now we're going to twist and twist and twist and twist and twist and twist and perfect there we go so now that we have our loop we're going to thread it through our handle which is this straw and [Music] all that's left is to bend the end up and secure it in place now we have i switch now we're going to put our switch in place just like that now that our switch is in place we've bent the wire using pliers and we're hot gluing it to keep everything in place [Music] now let's connect our coil to our circuit we're gonna use a negative wire to connect to the end of our coil once we have it connected and looped around we're gonna hold it in place with some electrical tape so after we have our wire nice and secure here we need to secure our two negative wires from the battery and the coil together so we are going to twist and twist and twist and twist and twist some more and [Music] make sure that connection is nice and secure we're gonna use more electrical tape to wrap around the beginning of our coil this will allow for breaking the circuit and the start of our game [Music] now for my favorite part decoration the decorations are done we added a start line we added a focus meter which shows being not at all focused all the way to focused and then we finished it off with the finish line all that's left now is to complete our circuit using these alligator clips hello alligator what's going on bro so first we're going to take our alligator clip and connect it to the negative side of the light make sure it's nice and secure that's not going anywhere and then we're gonna connect our alligator clip to the bottom of our switch making sure that it has good contact with the metal just like that and now it is complete oh gosh i'm so radiant focused are we ready to start i think we're ready to test it out all right let's test it out that means it's time to get focused okay let's see extreme focus to the max buzzer works well i'm obviously not very focused but i think it's safe to say that this works and it is ready to go to ryan excellent the machine is ready to go let's zap it over three two one whoa whoa i really hope that that helps ryan learn to focus yeah hey ryan it's back here you still there yeah i've been waiting this whole time okay well the experiment was a success and now it's on its way here it comes okay whoa this is so cool i'm gonna ask my daddy to train with me peck the penguin is a penguin so she should be an expert on ice peg can you make it a meltable ice for me gosh hi ryan what's up so i've been trying to play with these ices to cool off from outside but they keep melting do you know a way to make an unmeltable ice according to my research that's pretty hard but i have some ideas that just might work thank you oh boy i can't wait to test out my hypothesis first we need a bowl now to pour in some of these ice cubes look whoa and the special bucket will stop them from melting now we wait hey pack what you got going on wait a second are you doing the science experiment without me uh yeah i'm doing an experiment for ryan trying to see if i can get this ice to stop melting hmm well let's see what you got going on wait uh peck [Music] i don't think this is working very well oh gosh i guess it didn't really work out [Music] wait if you're looking to make hot ice i know how to make that and we have everything we need back at the lab really let's go teleport we made it to the lab now let's start in this amazing experiment so what do we do first well first we need to get our ingredients ingredients hooray what are these awesome ingredients all right well the ingredients are baking soda and vinegar what baking soda and vinegar those sound like normal ingredients i thought they were going to be awesome heck these are awesome because you can make a really cool science experiment with just these household objects hmm whoa okay the process must be pretty cool and complicated then what do we need brie actually all we need is just a cooktop and a pot well ryan is expecting something pretty cool i might just go uh test out another experiment be back later bree bye peg good luck while he's doing that we can get started of course with the help of an adult like me so the first step is four cups of vinegar into the pot so we're gonna count together ready guys one two three and four next we're gonna add four tablespoons of baking soda one [Music] all right all the baking soda is dissolved that means we can add our second tablespoon now we have to be very slow with the baking soda because if we add too much at once we're gonna get a huge eruption like a baking soda and vinegar volcano so it's been about one hour and we're just now starting to see the skin forming on top of our solution so that means it is time to take it off of the heat and put it in our container [Music] now we need to cover it up and seal it off nice and tight breathe breathe all right your experiment is ready uh well actually we have to wait for this to cool to room temperature before we can test it out which is gonna take about 30 minutes in the refrigerator sorry pack 30 minutes see you back in 30. no wait 30 minutes later it's been 30 minutes that's right that means it's finally time to test out our hot ice let's get started first we've got to collect some crystals from the inside of our pot now these were left after we got finished boiling our solution now we're going to take our crystals and put them on our plate crystals are you guys ready for the fun part okay we have to be very careful in taking off our cover make sure we don't disturb our solution and then we're gonna attempt to pour it all right on top of our crystals but wait the liquid is becoming ice that's spectacular whoa the ice is starting to stack upwards vice is taking over the beaker now that we've tested our experiment let's take a look at the science behind these amazing crystals that make hot ice we can get a really close look with pecto vision when we mix baking soda and vinegar something special happens the baking soda breaks down to help form sodium acetate you know it's working because the co2 leaves us bubbles but then all that's left is a lot of water and sodium acetate so we gotta slowly boil the water and watch it evaporate the crystals forming on the top let us know that just enough water had evaporated that means we just made a super saturation solution once most of the water leaves we then pull the liquid that's left and it becomes a super cool liquid it really wants to be icy and solid but it isn't ready yet with the help of some crystals an exothermic reaction can happen and that makes hot eyes experiment was great and that's how you make hot ice ryan and the really cool thing is is after you make it you can just reheat it in the microwave and test it over and over and over again oh gosh let's do another test you got it peck [Music] ready [Music] whoa peck i didn't know such things existed that is so cool lemon juice that looks sour maple syrup man i wish i had some pancakes oh that looks delicious next is orange juice this reminds me of breakfast i'm starting to think you were hungry when you put this together now it's the apple juice wait so we're putting apple juice on apples all right so now that we've got all our liquids poured in we just gotta wait until tomorrow to see what happens but before that which one do you think's gonna do the best i think it's gonna be the oil because it's already really shiny and it looks good to me oh good guess i'm going with chocolate syrup cause it's my super dried up it's also a little bit brown and this is the one i put in the wrapper see look it's not even a little bit brown but the best one is the one that i put in the fridge it's barely brown based on the experiment i did when apples touch air it turns brown so the one that i put in the wrap it doesn't look brown because it was wrapped and the one i put in the fridge it wasn't brown because it was cold not dry combo what was your results again safety first so breeze putting on gloves because these apples might be gross okay i've been waiting all night are you ready to see the results free i've been waiting all night let's do this okay so let's check out the control apple first ah that one's really brown come on it's all dried up yeah now let's check out the vegetable oil let's check out the next one now we got my pick the chocolate oh ah chocolate syrup that is definitely brown chocolate syrup is tasty but it's not good at keeping apples from turning brown let's go on to the next one lemon juice this one looks really good i don't see any brown you're right that one does look really good we might have a winner here but let's keep going let's check out the maple syrup one now okay this one is not looking that good very dry now let's look at the orange juice oh now this one has quite a bit of mold growing on it okay let's use freshly squeezed orange juice next time this one has some mold on it too but not as bad as the orange juice oh no it's like what happened to the orange juice wow that was really fun even if it was a little gross at times but which liquid do you think did the best i think definitely the lemon juice because there was no brown on that apple at all i agree my assistant you guys at home can also try this too there's so many other liquids and places you can experiment with and other fruits you can try too but be sure to ask your parents to help you out good finding combo yay we did it we learned how to keep an apple from step in building our brushy bot is to wire the battery pack to the motor creating a circuit since we're at the lob we happen to have these parts just lying around but they can also be found online or at most hobby stores building these bots can be difficult and dangerous so make sure that you ask an adult for help wiring the motor is the most important step in powering our bot we are going to connect the positive or red wire to the positive side of the motor and make sure that that is nice and secure then we are going to connect the black or negative wire to the negative side of the motor just like that now we are going to wrap everything together with a piece of electrical tape to keep our connections nice and secure first we're going to grab our brush next we're going to secure the battery pack and the motor bracket to the back of the brush using hot glue once again make sure to ask an adult for help especially when using things like hot glue now i'm using electrical tape to secure the extra wires so that they don't get caught up under the brush or in the motor now we are going to hot glue our cork to the post on the motor it is important that the cork is attached off-balance or lopsided so that when it rotates it creates vibration now this vibration is gonna make our bot move all that's left now is to add batteries now that we have everything built all that's left is to flip this switch and complete the circuit look at him go whoa whoa easy there okay yay first spot completed actually pack we're not quite done with the spot are you kidding me this guy needs a face [Music] this bot sure is neat but you know what what pack he could use a friend ah that is a great idea a friend i have a great idea we are gonna use this cup so just like the other bot we're gonna start by connecting our positive wire and our negative wire there we go that looks good and secure let's test it out sounds good next we're going to cut a hole in the top make sure you ask an adult for help now we're going to attach our motor and our battery pack so starting with the motor we have to be very careful as we glue this into place the glue might take a while to dry so we have to be very careful not to burn ourselves and we need to make sure the motor sits in very straight now we're going to glue our battery pack in place i used plenty of glue so that it sticks really well let's put it right here where we can still turn on our lever there we go now i'm going to secure the motor extra extra extra with some tape plus it adds some fun color so for our counterbalance we're gonna use this clothes pin and clip it just like that ryan found us three markers we've got orange blue and purple so we are going to tape them to our cup let's do the blue first there we go and then we're gonna do orange [Music] and then the last one is gonna be purple there we go and ready to draw oh i might add a few more finishing touches and now we decorate ta-da look at all that color all righty brie i laid out some paper for us to color on coloring good thing i go everywhere with my colors i think i'm to start with maybe a house oh wait sorry bree not for us for the bot to color on okay well i guess i mean this guy does look pretty cool and i'm excited to see what kind of picture he makes hopefully some purple first thing we have to do to start coloring is take off the caps [Music] there we go look at those colors now we just have to flip it on and now we draw [Music] oh whoa whoa fancy coloring but it's making circles oh no he's falling off the table let's see i think we need some more color here perfect whoa look at these circles it's making it kind of reminds me of a spirograph and we need some color over here all right guys now to color the rest of our paper [Music] whoa look he's moving look at this cool pattern he's making and done wow that was awesome it was fun watching the bug make its doodles but but can we make one more but brie well we do have some straws and some toilet paper perfect that'll be great for our next pot if you say so okay bree we have all our materials let's make a race car box well if you're asking me my first answer is always the same let's decorate first thing we have to do is fix this toilet paper roll [Music] now that looks like a race car next up these wheels need some bling now look at that all ready to go now we are gonna give this race car some wheels first thing we're gonna do is assemble our axles now we're gonna use these beads and glue them in the center of each wheel this is going to hold our axle in place now our axle is actually going to be made out of the sticks and the straws so we need to cut the axles one size and the straw is just a little bit shorter this is going to allow for our wheels to roll now that we have everything cut to size all that's left is to glue it all in place and put it underneath our car once everything is dry the straw should spin like this now all we gotta do is build a second axle and once that's dry put it under our car all right now we're gonna stick it to the bottom side of our car using duct tape we have to be really really careful to make sure we stick the axles on straight and in the middle so that our car will go straight now is the tricky part we are going to use this on off switch to turn our car on and off so in order to do that the first step we're gonna have to do is to lengthen our positive wire because it's too short to run all the way through the car to the back to do this we're gonna cut our wire in half and then using wire strippers we're going to take the coating off of both sides so that we can thread them together now we're going to take the two ends of exposed wire and we are going to twist and twist and twist nice and tight and then cover it with tape for safety now that that is nice and secure it's time to put in our switch we're going to take two positive sides and thread it through each side of the switch we're gonna fend over the wire to make little loops and then secure that with more tape now that we have our switch in place and that looks nice and secure it's time to wire up the motor we are gonna start by attaching the negative side to the negative side bending over the wire so it's nice and secure now that we're done taping the negative side let's connect and tape up our positive side and there we go hopefully we can get this nice and tight with some tape so now that we have our circuit connected with our motor our on and off switch and our battery pack we need power aka battery so if we connect this then we hit our on off switch it turns on like that next step is to install our finished circuit inside of our race car we're gonna put it in here so that way it can go zoom the first step is making sure our motor is attached in the front with enough space for our propeller now that that's in place we need to make sure our battery pack is nice and secure in the back all that's left is to attach the switch [Music] now we have our circuit installed i put the on off switch in the back so it's easy to turn on and off we've got the battery all the cables and the motor up front the last thing that we need to do is to put on our propeller and done let's go for a test drive you heard the penguin let's go go race car go this boat is spectacular that was so much fun i think it's time we send these over to ryan as much as i would love to play with them i think you're right teleporting the bots over to ryan bye bots hey ryan what are you doing i'm waiting for peck to send me his latest you're gonna need some baking soda so we have to put it into the funnel inside your water bottle okay next you're gonna put your food coloring into your vinegar and i choose red a little bit more okay know that you can make a volcano out of paper what you care of course you can i'll go make one for you okay i'm gonna build a lego robot it's gonna be my best friend all i need is the last piece for the head and oh it's so cute park what are you doing here we got a new science experiment for ryan it's gonna be a giant volcano a giant volcano well uh what do we need for that first thing we will need is a giant box a giant box there's definitely one around here let's see [Music] oh over there by combo hey combo pass the big box huh oh this box you got it bree hiya i'm a little teacup shortened [Music] yeah perfect this place doesn't seem too familiar that looks like there's a volcano nearby let's go investigate whoa this box is huge and it is gonna be the perfect base for our volcano don't you think that where did peck go oh well let's get started so first thing we need to do is cut this box down so i finished marking my line where we need to cut it's about four inches high which i think is going to be a good height to keep all the lava inside so now all we need to do is cut and once we cut the box it should look like and there it is ah that is the perfect size for our base look how big it is now to make sure that our base is good and strong we're gonna use duct tape well the box looks great but how do i build a volcano incoming oh there you are i just got back from gathering research data first we're gonna need these a bottle and a cup i think we can use this for the center of our volcano precisely so this bottle is gonna be perfect to put all of our ingredients in for the lava but i think it's a little too short that's why we have this cup i think that might be a little too tall we can work on this [Music] oh that is the perfect uh maybe we should glue it in place okay just a little bit more glue and i think that should do it i don't think it's going anywhere okay our bottle's not going anywhere but we don't need this cap it doesn't really look like a volcano we need something i don't know what we have to build the body i know what'll work okay [Music] trash paper that's a great idea so we're making the shape of our volcano it's kind of a mess right now so we're going to use tape to hold all of this together now to form the body of the volcano with some tape [Music] more paper oh wow peck you found a lot of paper this is gonna be perfect so the first thing that we need to do to start paper machine this giant volcano is we need to take all of this paper and tear it into pieces that we can actually use so something about like that but we're gonna need a lot this guy is very big so yeah this ought to do the trick rip the paper whoa peck great job this is a lot of paper what else do you mean ah well to make paper mache we need paper which we already have and then we need a bowl some water and the most important part glue so this glue is way too thick so the first thing we're gonna do is add glue then we're gonna add water and stir it all together to try to thin it out so we can put it on our paper now we do easter [Music] or agitate agitate agitate and when you're done it should look something like this now we're all ready for the fun part it's going to be a little messy so if you're wearing sleeves roll them up first you dunk it in the glue and then you just clean off all the extra make sure the paper is good and kind of soft and then you just slap it on the volcano [Music] slimy now the hardest part we have to wait for this to dry the volcano will take a while to dry let's go wash our hands let's get started [Music] all right we just finished all of this painting this volcano is huge it took forever peck how does it look it kind of looks just like a mountain it could use some lava some lava oh yeah awesome lava i'm gonna head back now it's getting a little hot over here okay well we'll see in a bit peck now i have a great idea for the lava what better than hot glue i mean it kind of looks like lava right maybe all right let's see so we're gonna try to build it up and see if we can get it to look like some big giant lava trails whoa that looks so cool all right now we're gonna use some orange and some yellow to give this lava some color oh just a little bit more lava paint and i think i hear pack made it just in time oh hi peck so we just finished our volcano and what do you think about it i think our volcano is complete looks like the real deal huh looks like the one i saw earlier let's teleport it to ryan yay the last thing we have to do is to get this onto our for you and then the apple will go to the winner okay peck i can't wait to see how this machine you're talking about is gonna look like hey yeah we have to wait whoa with this color and how shiny it is this thing has got to be worth so much money [Music] we got another experiment to build pack wait what about an experiment it's time to build a rock paper scissors machine a paper rock scissors machine hmm it's rock paper scissors but yeah do you know how to build one hmm well paper rock scissors machine could be pretty cool but we're going to need a lot of materials so we're gonna need things like cardboard glue rubber bands sticks and straight lines are always fun so we definitely need a ruler that's a really long list of stuff where are we gonna get all this from oh that's everything we need that's convenient yeah i got all the stuff now what do we do whoa great job peck now to get started we are gonna use this box we'll get that later now we're gonna cut up our cardboard which will give us something flat like this and with this we're going to trace and cut out all of our shapes first we're going to measure and draw all the pieces that make up the outside of our machine once we finish that we have to draw all the little ones that go on the inside now it's time to punch out all of our parts let's see well it's kind of working pink pink pink pink and one last one well let's start gluing the pieces down hmm you will need an adult's help for this park it looks really good but now we need the little spinny tubey thingies oh those are called the reels but you know i think i have the perfect idea for the spinny toobie thingies i think we could use this roll of paper towels it's already pretty much shaped like it but i'm gonna get all these paper towels off [Music] look at it we want our reels to be the exact same size so we're gonna measure very carefully and we're gonna make sure we cut straight now that that's done we just have to make our circles i found this cap lying around and it's the perfect size oops all right well we have all four of our circles now we just have to put them in here and then we're just gonna glue it into place that looks good and dry it's nice and strong but we need something to help our reel spin like that i have the perfect idea we're gonna use this really pretty border paper we're gonna wrap it around like this and i think that's gonna help a lot let's get started we need to measure and cut our border paper once we cut it nice and straight then all we have to do is wrap it around our reel and glue it in place we have to glue up the orange gears so they can become extra sturdy all right now everything is nice and dry our fingers aren't sticking to it it's nice and hard we're gonna take our stick and we're gonna try our best to get it all the way through now we just set it in place in our machine put the other side here to hold it in and we just glue this guy together now this part can be very tricky you need to leave enough space for your reels to spin but not too much space or they'll fall off so after everything is glued into place you should be able to do something like this haha yes soon my plans will be complete i'll be finally able to win at rock paper scissors for generations our family has only been able to throw paper but with your smart pack i think you'll be the one to be able to change your fate [Music] looks like all the glue is dry and it's spinning great looks like it could use a lever to help make it spin these giant popsicle sticks are gonna work great thanks to peck think we need to add some color yeah color powder whoa magic pink now we're gonna make the part that spins the reel all we need is a circle cut into four pieces and then we're gonna make it 3d kind of like a piece of pie once we have that all hot glued and dried we are gonna put the same border paper that we put on our reels once we get that glued into place we're gonna stiffen it with super glue and it should look something like this [Music] this looks complicated whoa and that's why you have an adult's pec all right pex so we got our levers in place we used just little sticks to hold them in place now is gonna be the tricky part we're gonna have to attach these little tiny gears to the lever so when you pick the lever up it spins the reel like that [Music] now this rubber band has a very important job and our machine wouldn't work without it it puts a lot of tension on the lever when you pull it down so when you let it go it spins the reel the levers are in place and they're working to yay what's next bree oh well all we have left to do is just build the cover conveniently i have it all drawn out here so we just gotta pop it out and here we go now this one has a lot of holes in it so we gotta punch him out there you go so now that we have our cover put on we can just put this whole thing together wait a second before we can put the cover on we have to turn this into paper rock scissors that's where these guys come in handy we've got rock paper and scissors so we're just gonna glue them on like this the most important part about this step is to make sure that your hands are facing each other otherwise who are you playing now we're just going to glue the outside pieces of our machine and the front cover wow it's really coming together and we cannot forget rock paper and scissors [Music] the rock paper scissors machine is complete now let's decorate some decorations my favorite part there it is we have red versus blue hey um before we give it to ryan i should um people coming in okay daddy i have a great idea what i can use those cans to make a homemade draw that's a great idea ryan i would help you thank you okay guys we gathered a bunch of other things that we need to make the trunk all right so we gather balloons very colorful and a lot of different colored duct tapes and stickers to decorate the drums yeah and we also got light up chopsticks so we can use it as the drumsticks first we're gonna use the balloons to cover the drums that's right ryan what color of the balloons you want so many the colors it is all right what's the next color i want purple purple it is all right so we chose these two colors now you have to cut out the balloon so it will fit over this container this looks like a swimming head cap right over here you can also use rubber bands to hold the balloon in place so now it looks like drums and now for the other drum all right it's a special one it's golden all right it's done now we're gonna cut off the extra balloon pieces [Music] next we're going to put tape around the kitchens to do decoration all right let's go all around ryan can you just turn turn turn turn good job good job now let's finish the rest [Music] yeah i know that sounds great peck uh but we should we should probably get going like an instrument that uses strings but we we can go find these things how about one that you have to blow into which you'll make it a winner i think i'm i'm just gonna go okay oh gosh where did we go i gotta go get supplies too man what a hard day of work it's time for my snack and it's cheez-its here we go cheese it's all over my plate now tea this was my trusty spoon wait wait what happened where's my cheez-its i can use that too oh no where'd my spoon go oh well at least i see long grain and rice rice wait where did my rice go so while peck is doing whatever it is that he's doing i know the perfect place to start come on come on come on okay we have this whole shelf full of all sorts of arts and crafts and things like that there has to be some good stuff in here so let's see oh first of all we need tape and this is so bright and fun okay maybe we could use some rubber bands i mean you can do anything with rubber bands let's get all of those definitely some colorful paper i think that's a great idea and oh i wonder what's in here oh look how brilliant sparkly everything is i don't know what we're gonna use this for but we're definitely taking this with us jingle bells that's pretty much an instrument already eggs i don't think somebody put this back in the right spot but i think we could use these too what else do we have wait a second thumbtacks well they're bright and colorful i think we can use those too the last thing we need i know what wrapping paper this is perfect i have everything i need i wonder what peck is doing what do we have here ah i can use that yeah that was silly [Music] just going to borrow this toilet paper roll and there we go yeah oh hey peck wait where's all the toilet paper sorry daniel peck it's the world's tiniest instrument oh my god pack i found some things that we can use for instruments ep toilet paper what if you started with a tambourine one of my favorite percussion instruments that's a great idea peck and it looks like we have everything we need for starters we can use this plate to be the base but it's kind of white and plain so we can paint it maybe some bright pretty colors i don't know how that's gonna work but i believe in you bree oh i have the perfect idea what is more colorful than a rainbow so we need all the colors of the rainbow which is roy g biv so it starts with red and then orange yellow green blue indigo and violet violet of course i kind of forgot your color pack sorry whoa looks like a rainbow noodle cool so the next thing we need to do is try to fold this up like a taco so we have only half a plate we have a rainbow let's see if we can make it work look at that we have a rainbow wow now i think we need to glue it together all the glue we need lots of glue for this because this has got to hold tight three two one and we're smashing it together oh it's a little hot this is why you need an adult for help okay because hot glue can get really hot there we go look at that taco all right hole puncher we need one hole for every jingle bell and last one that was a lot of work now we're ready for the jingle bells we put each belt on a string now we're just going to take the string and tie it to each one of these little holes like that [Music] and done now once you have them all tied up guess what you have [Applause] a tambourine cool now let's make some maracas yeah okay so for maracas we can use these eggs that we found some spoons and we can use your long grain enriched rice pack of course the long grain enriched rice so the first thing we're gonna do is we're gonna put some rice in these eggs i think i'm gonna make a mess but it's okay that's part of crafting so we need some rice to make some noises okay i'm making a lot of mess there we go now we're gonna put the lids on and see if it's on oh that's so cool all right number two now we need to make sure these don't open so we don't get rice everywhere so maybe we should use some tape whoa seal it up nice and tight that ought to be good and sturdy sounds good to me all right so now we're gonna glue the spoons like this to make a handle gotta be careful with the hot glue and oh there we go handle number one handle number two all right there we go next we're gonna tape it up and then decorate all right taping taping taping taping perfect last rep and done with that i think we could use some decorations though i mean they have to be festive right pack yeah time for the fun tape oh it's so cute look at all those bright colors super festive there we go [Music] maracas spectacular yes i mean the festive tape is definitely what made the maracas so listen to that okay well next we can use the toilet paper roll for something you know what peck i actually have an idea for the toilet paper roll but it's gonna be a surprise so you're just gonna have to wait and see what it is we're gonna start with this super shiny sparkly tape okay so just because we don't want it to look like something that came from the bathroom we're gonna wrap it in this super shiny tape oh that's so pretty all right let's cover this other end there we go we're gonna take the tissue paper crinkle crinkle crinkle and put it on the edge of this with a rubber band ready the science of rubber banding things together super technical there you go well now we can't really see our kazoo so maybe we should trim this up some oh that looks so much better now we can actually see our kazoo [Music] we're catching a little bit of air here so i think i have the perfect thing to help us out we just need to make a little air hole oops backwards pink let's see if that works [Applause] [Laughter] it works so good since this is already shiny and we have these shiny jewels why not just decorate it a little bit you know for some extra credit we got all our jewels on pack what's next the last one will be tricky guitar i have the perfect body for that guitar what about this that'll work so we're gonna start with the neck of the guitar which we can actually use the wrapping paper roll that we found uh this is a little long so we're definitely gonna have to shorten it and then we have our body which is this box we have strings to pluck and play with and i think we even have little tuning knobs that we can use perfect length what a coincidence so now we just need to cut a hole so we can stick this guy through it perfect hole so we're gonna use these pieces of cardboard as string holders to hold our strings on in place all right while we're waiting for the glue to dry right here which this is what's going to hold our strings in place let's put some little tuning knobs of course they're not going to work but i think it'll really help it look like a guitar so we need six of them total one two three awesome and then the other side there we go that way when it goes out of tune you can just tune it up just like that so we sealed up the ends that way you can't get poked by any of the thumbtacks and now i think we're just ready for the strings all we have to do is put the strings on the guitar very carefully make sure we don't pop any there's five and our final string string number six you wanna see how it plays you recognize that song right twinkle twinkle little star oh whoa thank you so much pep those to get rid of the dirt oh that is a great idea but how are you to make a filter i think we can use everyday household items oh i think i know some stuff that we could use me too let's get to it let's go hmm something to use as a filter maybe something in the dryer let's see oh here we go the sock so we really need to find something that we can put all of our things in and something to hold it all together but i don't know what do you guys see anything oh of course there's probably something in here let's check no not that oh no not that oh my goodness this is perfect it's gonna work great oh hey daniel is that sand you're playing with oh hey peg yeah i'm making some sand castles do you want to play with me um no i'm actually here doing a science experiment but i could use the sand yeah of course here take some gee thanks daniel don't mind if i do thanks for your contribution to science what oh okay fine i guess take it all i mean i wasn't using it or anything so i got my bottle but we need things to build the actual filter so what could we use what can we i got it we can use these rocks they're perfect there's so many of them man this is gonna work so good oh a shiny bag of fish gravel i can totally use this to help filter out the dirt too here we go well we're in the kitchen right now and there's gotta be really good stuff that we can use as a filter so let's see of course paper towels that should work pretty good i wonder if there's anything else um [Music] no coffee filters i think these items are great but let's see what pex got we gathered all the needed materials and an adult what do we do now so the first thing we need to do is to make the outside of our container or our filter by cutting up this water bottle oh that's looking so good there we go it's perfect now the really cool part about using a bottle is we could use the bottom part to catch all of our water but i found this cup here and i really like it because of how tall it is and i think we're going to be able to see our results really well on this oh i see now that we finished our first bottle all we need is two and [Music] three bottles that is perfect for our experiment let's get started how would you do that i must be seeing things all right now we're gonna start with our three different filter bases so paper towels is our first one this dirty old sock is number two and coffee filters is our third one we can hold them into place with these really strong rubber bands okay rubber bands one two three nice and secure hey peck could you pass me the sand one bowl of sand coming right up whoa that looks like fun next we need oh gravel here's some gravely gravel last thing that we need is rocks big rocks whoa that's perfect all right starting with the sand well we have to make sure it goes all the way down to the bottom so this kinetic sand is nice it doesn't get messy next up is the gravel this is gonna be so pretty i love the colors i think that looks pretty good so now we need these big heavy rocks looking good hey can i borrow one of those pebbles later there you go that looks pretty good now that we have our first one built all the way we just have to do the same for two and three oh now you can use my special blaster to get the job done whoa that is incredible oh shucks it was nothing okay here's a moment of truth let's see if our filters work i can see the water filling up and the little pieces of dirt swimming around like fish i'm getting a little hungry now we're already starting to get some water coming out whoa look at that it looks like a lot of the dirt is getting caught by these rocks and maybe some of the smaller dirt by these smaller rocks the sand looks like it's doing a lot of work too four times speed whoa all right let's see how the paper towel does whoa that rubber band sure is doing its job and the last one is the coffee filter i mean it is a filter on the end of a filter whoa so this one looks like it's already coming out more clear than the other two brilliant deduction bree [Music] now that we have all of our water filtered let's take a look let's compare them okay so we're just gonna take these guys out and put them in here oh gosh be careful there we go and last but not least the coffee filter yay well these two i don't think they did as well it worked a lot there's obviously no dirt in there but they look pretty cloudy and i can't really see through them that well now the coffee filter whoa that is so clear look at that i can see straight through it it's time to review the results for ryan okay so i think the results show us that the rocks and the gravel in the sand do a really good job of getting all the dirt out but the coffee filter is the only one that can get all those little teeny tiny parts out which makes it clear like that i think it's safe to say the coffee filter definitely did the best but it does look better back to you ryan [Music] whoa it's clean heck how did you do it and what did you use sending it to you right now okay [Music] whoa you use this coffee filter wow whoa i can't believe this coffee filter works the best out of all the three and guys you can not drink science
