Unless you’re a collector This is by far one of the more important thing to consider It can either make or break your space’s aesthetic The furniture choice reflects your personality in your space However, each piece should serve a purpose first Try your best not to get a furniture that you don’t really need I'm guilty of this... Creating a mood board was incredibly helpful for me This can be applied to any style you like I use mainly Pinterest and Instagram for inspirations Personally, I go for mid century pieces as they are truly timeless Don’t be afraid to blend different furniture styles together This includes experimenting with different colours as long as there's a common element For example, I use chrome a lot It's the element that creates a seamless look You can also experiment with various shapes It can break away from a monotonous look One thing that helped me a lot when picking a certain piece is using a floor planner app In this case its the free version of floorplanner.com It helps me visualise the size and style before purchasing anything This takes more effort but its worth it if the furniture is going to be with you for a long time Especially if its expensive! Open shelving has become a popular choice, and for good reason Apart from its functionality, it's an artful way to elevate the aesthetics of your space Like a canvas to show your personal style Closed cabinets can make a room appear smaller By removing the visual barriers of closed cabinets, it creates an illusion of openness And its usually more affordable too Items on open shelves are easily accessible and visible, making it easy to grab without the need to open cabinet doors But a caution: if done wrong, it can hinder the look and make it look messy Wall colour can may be the quickest way transform your space It sets the tone and overall mood of your space Choose a colour that matches the mood you are going for Contrasting colours can make a statement I chose beige and black for that reason Beige provides warmth, while black brings depth and sophistication Contrasting walls may seem bold at first, but if you carefully pair it with furniture, it can be visually pleasing Wall decor can also create an aesthetic finish It showcases your personality, making your space truly unique Try experimenting with objects, clocks signages prints It's your chance to get creative!
