[Music] i want to change his blue eyes to a brown color as i think it would complement the fair colors better i first cut a glue stick in half and lit a tea lighter at the end of it [Music] i then pressed the hot glue stick under the furby's iris [Music] i decided not to put him in the freezer because he is a working furby and i didn't want to do anything that could possibly ruin his mechanisms so i left him overnight instead the next morning i tried to remove the eye chips by twisting and pulling the glue sticks but it was completely unsuccessful instead i just ended up cutting the glue sticks off and changing them later by a different method i went ahead and de-skinned him by cutting through the black mesh base then snipping the cable tie with pliers mine had screws holding the fur onto the face plate so i unscrewed them as well as all the other screws keeping the outer shell together [Music] because i failed miserably in pulling the eye chips out with the glue sticks i'm having to dismantle part of the mechanism so i can take the eyes out that way i poked out the cylinder running through the eyepiece then removed the tiny screw in the back [Music] i had to pull the face piece forward pulled the eyes and eyelid pieces out the side without breaking anything once they were out i used a small pointy tool to push the eye chips out from the back they were really stuck in there quite strong so there's no wonder i couldn't pull them out earlier with the glue sticks [Music] the glass domes i ordered to make his new eye chips hadn't arrived yet so i just reassembled him as is i was worried i had damaged his mechanics by this point so i put some batteries in him and luckily he survived the surgery next i removed the plastic face mold then began to pick the threading separating the different parts of the fur i drew around the shapes remaining to make templates for my new furby skin [Music] i chose a beautiful dusky brownish pink fur for his chest and a black mongolian long pile fur for the main body these fabrics were quite expensive but they are so soft and such good quality they were definitely worth the price with my template as a guide i cut four strips of the main black fabric this would be used to make two back pieces and two side pieces using my chalk i drew around the templates at the top of each strip of fabric and trimmed away the excess [Music] [Music] [Music] i pinned each front piece to its correct back piece then carefully hand sewed the very top part of the fabric and tried it on for size i watched a nook freya's amazing long furby video where she completely rewired the battery pack so you could get to it easily from the bottom of the furby but i'm too scared of the mechanisms dying that i don't want to do anything that could possibly disturb them so instead i had a pretty good idea of placing a concealed zipper just below the furby's battery pack so you could open it up nice and wide and easily insert or remove the batteries to do this i need to separate the long back piece of fabric into two i marked out and cut a little bit below the base of the furby being careful to cut the backing of the fabric only and not snip right through the long fur i used my sewing machine to connect each front piece with their corresponding back piece then i connected the two back pieces [Music] together [Music] next i used my template again as a guide to mark and cut out a long strip of fabric for his front piece the zipper that i want to sew in would only be on the furby's black fur so unlike the back i need to keep the front pink fabric in one piece i used my machine again to sew the pink front piece and black back piece together but made sure i left ample excess brown fabric at the top so i could fix it onto the furby later on i have an armature spine to go inside the furby to help pose him so i'm going to make two frame supports for each end of it in theory this should keep it in place and secure when you move him in different positions i found a chunky piece of scrap frame which was perfect so i drew around the bottom of the furby two times cut them out then pierced a hole in the center of each one for the spine to fit i then cut out four circles from a cardboard box and cut holes in the center of two of them i glued these onto each side of the foam pieces then gorilla glued the spine into one of them i'd wait till later to glue the other side in as it would be easier to stuff it before i do so [Music] i decided to make my long furby a demon so i'm going to make him some horns i used two screw-on spike studs as a base and then fashioned two horns on them using milliput [Music] it took me a couple of layers to build them up to the size and shape that i wanted them on the final layer i carved lines in them to give them some texture when the miller part was completely dry i gave them a few coats of black paint [Music] and then a couple of coats of matte varnish to protect them and give them a good finish now my two horns are ready i pierced two tiny holes where i wanted them on the furby and screwed them into place [Music] i decided to make a little heart put into his body [Music] i cut two slits in the back of the heart and threaded a black ribbon through it before stuffing it [Music] then i tied it securely around the armature spine [Music] now's the time to start putting him all together i just used hot glue to attach the fur fabric onto the furby shell being super careful not to let any drip through and get anywhere that it shouldn't [Music] it ended up being a bit too fiddly to film but i sewed one half of the zipper onto the main body piece i inserted the spine armature and positioned the foam support just under the zip i then created a felt circle the circumference of the base of the furby i sadly lost the footage but sewed this just below the zip so it was covering the top of the foam support i glued the top of the chest piece on with a stronger glue and used a scrunchie to hold it in place until it was dry [Music] i then hand sewed the side of the chest piece to the back piece [Music] my new eye chips had arrived in the post so i drew around them and used my faber castle colour pencils to draw in his new irises if that was so the best conductors would be those who played fastest and there would be composers who wrote only finales people go to con just hear one crashing chord because that's the end [Music] [Music] [Music] same way you're dancing you don't aim at a particular spot in the room that's where you should arrive the whole point of the dancing is with us for the people who live to retire put those savings away and then when they're 65 i applied to thinly spread super tiny amount of clear dry and matte glue to the glass dome and stuck it to my iris drawings i cut the excess paper off carefully and the eyes were complete i used a small brush to apply a thin even layer of glue on each eye and then snapped my iris chips in place the size of the chips i got fit so perfectly i probably could have gotten away with popping them in without using glue next i made a template for the earpieces then cut two pieces from each type of fabric i sewed two of the sides together leaving the bottom side open [Music] i turned the fabric the right way around then used a pin to pull the long fur through the scene [Music] i then sewed the bottom part together leaving a gap so i could slide the piece onto the furby's ear stick after trying them on for size i sewed a few stitches each side so the ears would still move when the furby is turned on [Music] i then stuffed him being careful to place the stuffing around the spine so it stays in the middle [Music] once i got to the end i added a second support that i made earlier then sewed a round piece of the pink fabric over the top [Music] [Music] [Music] to finish him off i made him some feet i found the super soft black faux rabbit fur and this brown faux suede i made templates from his original feet then traced them onto the black fur and cut them out i sewed them together so i now had two black feet i made my own templates for the pore pads and cut them out of the brown [Music] fabric [Music] i sewed each piece on with a small amount of stuffing in [Music] i was left with two very soft and squishy paw pads which i simply hand sewed at the base of his body [Music] do [Music] and there we are one majestic human-sized furby comment below and let me know what you think i love making weird things and have several other projects on the go to subscribe if you're interested and a special thank you goes out to strange aeons for introducing me into the wonderful world of long furbies it's truly changed my life [Music] you
