my own spicy chicken sandwich and I'm so excited to do
this because this whole spicy chicken sandwich
trend that's been going on. First of all I was already
a lover of spicy chicken sandwiches, but what pushed
me today to do this video, was the thought that
I really stood in line forever in the drive thru
trying to get this spicy chicken sandwich that everybody's
was talking about. I aint gonna say no
names, Popeye's Popeye's. (hand smacks) Just to get up there and they say that they don't have anymore. And I'm like why didn't y'all
put a sold out sign, why? We gonna make make our own
spicy chicken sandwiches. I want y'all to know that y'all
don't gotta stand in line. Y'all aint gotta hop on board
with all this extra ness. Make it at home. - Obviously what you'll need
first, is the chicken breast. You want to make sure that
it's boneless chicken breast. And you want to make
sure that it's not thin but not too thick. But it doesn't matter if it is too thick, because we gonna be
banging these things out. (pan banging) I aint have anything else
and this is what I found, which is like dang what
this thing been through? (pan banging) Go ahead and bang these things. (pan banging) This one feels really good, but this one, I don't know, it's a
little fat around here. Bang this thing. (pan banging) So first I'm gonna pour some
pickle juice in a container, and were going to make a, I
believe they call it a brine. It's basically like a marinade. (dramatic music) But anyways, now I'm gonna
put them in pickle juice and I'm gonna let them marinate, brine whatever you want to call it. I'm gonna let them marinate
in this pickle juice for about 30 minutes, or
you can do it for 24 hours, of course the longer the better but we only got 30 minutes today hun. So in a container add in your flour. This is of course what
you're gonna need to fry it. I'm gonna add in a generous
amount of cayenne pepper. Might do a little bit more 'cause it's suppose to be
spicy so this is all up to you. Now don't add too much if
you ain't ready for it sis. Some black pepper. This black pepper is
the course black pepper, so its black pepper that
you're going to be able to see and taste of course. Get some salts. (upbeat music) Give this a good little mix. I'm gonna say two eggs. Well I'll know how many eggs
to put in it when I mix it. By the way that's the stickers. I hate when they stick
stickers on things like this because it is very hard to get off, like ugh it's what it is. I'm gonna add some buttermilk in this. I'm gonna add a little bit more. This is probably more then what I need just to keep it real, but that happens a lot
when you're frying food. Were adding pepper in this too. Woo you can really see this pepper. I'm surprised I haven't sneezed yet. Last thing were gonna
add in here is hot sauce. You already know you can't
do this without hot sauce. One thing that you do
want to do is make sure that you're setting up you're station. You don't it to be all sloppy, so make sure you kinda have
a little lineup going on. I have my flour. I have my egg batter, and
of course I have my pan where I'm going to be frying the chicken. So put the oil in. I'm going to be using peanut oil. That's what I'm using to fry this. You can use whatever oil
you want, but peanut oil has just a good taste for
fried chicken, in my opinion, but its up to you. Thirty minutes is up, now
I'm gonna take these out and I'm gonna pat them
dry with a paper towel. By the way some of you
are probably cringing because I don't have on gloves. If you feel comfortable wearing
gloves when touching raw meat then go ahead, go ahead. And if you're not good
at washing your hands wear gloves, go ahead, go ahead. But me personally, I feel confident enough about my hygiene, that I
can touch this raw meat and know that I'm not going to get sick. I will say having gloves,
it does make it like, just easier to get things rolling instead of having to wash your
hands every little moment. So I do understand wearing
gloves, and honestly, I should consider it more because it does get a little tedious
to have to constantly wash your hands after
touching it all the time. There's my chicken all nice and dry. It's important to dry your chicken off. Pat it dry at least before frying it because water doesn't mix well with oil, even though you could, it's
just not the thing to do okay. Patting off your chicken
also allows the batter to stick to it better. So for the fun part, I'm
gonna take the chicken, ooh Trinity, ugh, I'm so messy. I'm gonna take your
chicken, you're gonna put it in the flour first. Give it a nice dry canvas and
then you're gonna put it in the uh the uh the uh egg batter, and then you're going to
put it back into the flour. All right shake it off one more good time, and lay this baby in, ooh. Egg batter, back in the flour. Woo! While that's frying go
ahead and get your tomatoes, and your lettuce ready. I like my spicy chicken sandwiches with tomato and lettuce
unless its from Chick-Fil-A, I can kind of do without it. Woo, look at that. This is potato bread. That's my favorite type of bread. I don't eat it all the time
because its not the healthiest bread, but this oh yeah potato bread. I'm gonna go ahead and
toast these a little bit, actually no I'm not going to toast them because I actually like the bread soft especially if the chicken is crunchy. And when I toast them it kind
of takes away the softness so I'm not gonna toast it this time. I do like a little bit of mayo on it. Gonna add my lettuce. You gotta make sure that its balanced like every bite just has enough lettuce, just enough tomato and that's
what a lot of these places lack except Chick-Fil-A,
for the simple fact that they only put pickles on it, but other places I hate when they just be, this is what the other places be doing. That's it, that's all the
lettuce they give you. Why why? Some tomato, I love tomato
because it adds more juices to the sandwich. Now for the big dog. Woo this thing is big! Look at that, you know what? You know what? I'm actually gonna switch it out. Okay, can't have a spicy
chicken sandwich without fries. Look at that, woo, mm-mm! Here I have my homemade spicy
chicken sandwich with fries. Ooh look at this. Lord please bless this food
and let it be nourishment to my body in Jesus name we pray, amen. I felt that. Somethings telling me that's
the Lord's about to do something in my life right now. Ooh, yes and its so perfect,
just enough is peaking out the bun, just enough. You know what, let's, let's start it with a fry. All right, first bite. Hopefully this camera in focus. Whew, mm! - Mm chicken! - Mm, mm.
