what is up homies my name is Felix and today I am bringing you yet another LMS video and today in this video some of you have been requesting for me to make a kind of like a dark girl Travis got kind of creepy scary type beat so essentially what I'm gonna be doing in this video is exactly that making kind of a darker type beat so yeah I'm forced out the video you guys should follow my SoundCloud Instagram if you wish to you and also there's a playlist of songs that I've produced down in the description below at the music Spotify SoundCloud YouTube all that stuff yeah now let's get into the video so the first thing that you kinda want to do is bring this tempo down a little bit lower like probably around anywhere from like 120 years sure like 1 maybe even like 110 like 130 I would say and then we can get rid of a stuffs and now we're gonna pick some drums but we need some drums that kind of slap hard so I'll give you an example of what I'm talking about so basically instead of a clap for this one we're gonna be using a snare and we want a kind of a snare that's gonna hit hard kind of like this one that one hits pretty hard probably destroyed your eardrums right there or like this one that one will work too that one would work too so any of those kind of looking snares are the ones that you want and then for the high hats you're probably gonna want a high hat that's kind of pitched lower so like one of these ones I'm gonna use this smoky one for today but and then you're gonna want to 808 that's kind of it's not too quiet but also is not like too insanely hard because we're not trying to make a super like hard super distorted beat we just want to make it spooky but also have like powerful drums so this one's probably good and then for the kick you want a hard kick but you don't want something that's gonna like be destroying your speakers or anything they're going too hard so I'm just gonna pick this one because it's pretty standard but still slaps pretty hard and then for the percussion I'm gonna use I'm use this one and then for the hi-hat I'm gonna use this one ok so now that we have all the drums and stuff the next thing that you want to do is probably pick a plug-in or a SAN font or you know sound whatever whatever it is you may be using and for this you want to pick be like a piano like a dark piano sound I think that's what I'm gonna do for this one I'm gonna use this creepy piano and then I'm gonna use this red tron and I've used both of these plugins before they're both free plugins both really good and then if I want to add another one down the line I will but for now I think this is good actually I think I'll add 17 Orchestra because it has some nice violin sounds in there and I think the violins might be good okay so now for this beat since it's more of a melodic based beat what I'm gonna do is start off with the melody instead but what I'm do first off is pick a good sound on this group of piano I think this one sounds fine I'm using this one but I might change it later on down the line and then these ones I'll just leave these for now because I'm just gonna start off with the piano so like usual I'm not gonna go too deep into music theory and scales and chords and keys and stuff like that but for this one you're gonna want to use a harmonic minor scale so basically what you can do is you can go to Google and you can search up notes and let's just go with a harmonic minor scale so now that we have this we're gonna know all the notes that are in here so if we go to images this would be good so now we have this showing us all the notes that are in the a harmonic minor scale so what we can do now is we can go back and tell em s and so what are the notes a ABCDE F G sharp a so what we can do is we can go to the a right click and do mark unmarked all corresponding octave semitones so basically for all the people wondering about kind of like a scale highlighting and LMS this is basically how you do it so basically we're gonna go in and since it was abcdefg sharp again we're gonna just mark all those like this whoops sure so now we have all these and this is the a harmonic minor scale I think I did this right so basically now we have the notes highlighted that we can use here and it won't be a problem so what we should do mainly is start off with an a minor chord because the key is in a minor but then again you don't have to do that but that's just generally the way that kind of works so you having to make a melody using only these highlighted notes which is the a harmonic minor scale and then I will be back okay so basically I just made this quick little haunting creepy little melody I just made these chords and then I put these at the bottom and that sounds like this [Music] see I think that sounds pretty good and now I'm going to as usual copy it over and then add some variation so doesn't get your pet ative okay so I finished up this second part of this melody here I added some like way higher notes and now it's going to sound like this [Music] [Music] see I think that sounds nice and ominous and haunting and stuff so now what I'm gonna do is transpose it a little bit and get it to where I like it how it sounds okay so basically I pitch this down an octave and then I put it at F here so basically now it'll be in the key of F harmonic minor but yeah so now we have this and what I'm gonna do here is I'm gonna do copy and paste and I'm gonna go in here get rid of these notes because I want it to just be the like chords and not this extra stuff so just right click and drag over it to get rid of it actually what I can do is just delete this whole thing entirely because I can copy it over and now what I'm gonna do is select these like this and that opes like that there you go and then do control a and then shift click over and then boom we have it but now we have to do is pitch this up and I want this to be longer not like that [Music] so yeah this sounds good it sounds nice and scary and sad and all the all the other things as well so now what I'm going to do is I'm going to go in here and pick a preset from here okay so I just picked this little choir thing and I'm gonna listen to how it sounds it might not sound good so I might have to change it but we'll see okay so what I think I'm gonna do with this is I'm gonna make everything shorter actually except for I can just get rid of this I'm gonna make all this stuff shorter and then copy it over and we'll see how this sounds okay so I missed around with the preset here and I found this black string one which sounds good and now it should sound like this [Music] and I think what I'm gonna do at the end is do like this I think that sounds good and that won't be too noticeable but it's just like adds a little thing at the end and now what I'm going to do is work on the drums because obviously we're done here so I'm just gonna click here to three times and we're gonna place this snare like this as we do and then we're going to do the hi-hat so I'm gonna do a few of them and then I'm gonna go in here and zoom in and then you shift click just click and what I'm gonna do here is go like this with the velocities and also this reminds me I turn the velocity on the piano up to like 130 percent I think because it was kind of quiet I felt like so basically now with this it should sound like this [Music] yeah that is sounding pretty dope so far what I'm gonna do next is actually the 808 because I kind of forgot to do that I'm gonna just copy these do ctrl C X out and then ctrl V in here and push it up okay so I just fixed the 808 pattern now to make it sound good and where I'm gonna want the kicks to be and then I have this little triple thing at the end but before I play it I'm going to fix the clicking real quick by doing this whoops that's out of key because this is a thing that you need to do also I always forget but now she's sound good [Music] okay so I just figured out the thing that I had in my head playing it's supposed to sound like this now and I'm gonna do the same thing over here because I like how that sounds it adds you know some suspense at the end there so yeah I think this is gonna sound good and now I'll play it with the drums and stuff [Music] so yeah I think that's sounding really good so far next thing I'm gonna do is go onto the kick which I'm basically just gonna copy the same 808 pattern okay so basically I just copied down the kick pattern with the 808 and now I'm going to move on to the percussions and the hi-hat and stuff and I think the way I want it is like this something like this and then I want this year and maybe like that so yeah I've pretty much finished with this part now what I did here was I just added these little percussions and now I'm gonna go into the high hats and I'm gonna make some rolls and stuff okay so it's kind of hard to see but I just finished doing the rolls for the hi-hat pattern and it's gonna sound like this now so yeah basically what I did was I just did a little triple roll and then a couple quad rolls down here and stuff and yeah if I go to 200 you can see kind of a better view of it but yeah it's like that and now the whole thing should sound like this [Music] so yeah some of these rules are a little bit off they sound a little weird so I'm gonna go in and fix them and then we're gonna move on to laying out the beat so I just finished up fixing this hi-hat pattern and now what I'm gonna do is separate them all under their own beat and bass line editor and then we'll lay out the beat alright so I just separated all these into their own beat and bass line editors and then rename them as well so I can keep track of them and now I'm gonna copy this over and you know lay out the beat and everything [Music] all right everybody so I just laid out the beat basically what I did you know as usual the usual procedure is I put the piano in and then I put some of the drums in and not the kicker 808 or anything here and then I dropped everything at once and then for this little piece I took out these string stabs and then I took out the percussion in the open hi-hat and then I did the same thing over here except for the piano I took out so so basically that's gonna do it for this video I hope you guys enjoyed watching I hope you're able to learn something and I hope you're able to go and make you know whatever type us Fuki beats you want to make so yeah if you have any questions leave them down in the comments below and I will see you guys next time [Music]
