in today's video we're taking a look at how to clean and lubricate your sliding patio door this is so easy anyone could do everything that we use on the video we're gonna leave a link on the description so you've noticed that your sliding door is getting stuck or not running well don't worry today we're gonna take a look at a simple and easy way to make your sliding door run smoother and the good thing you won't even have to unmount your door the first thing that we're gonna go ahead and do is clean the track because usually the accumulation of dirt and grime is what causes the door to stick or to slow down or even become a pain to move so the first thing that we want to do is get this clean and even though that we like to work out every time we go to the patio your muscles are getting too big and the shirts don't fit no more and you don't want to buy new ones so let's go ahead and fix this right away we're going to go ahead and use a vacuum to pick up any loose debris or dirt and we're gonna do this on both sides of the track so we're gonna have to open the door to access one and then close the door to access to other [Music] now we're gonna get to the crucial step and that's using a flathead screwdriver or something that could fit under the door between the track so we can remove the years or months of dirt accumulation if in your case removing the door itself it's a lot easier you can go ahead and do that we're gonna use the vacuum once again to remove the dirt and we want to go ahead and do this on both sides [Music] here we are at the second step we're gonna get a rag a bucket of water with a little bit of soap and call it soapy water and use old-fashioned elbow grease we're gonna go ahead and clean the tracks with this solution if you notice any bumps or stuff on grime you can use a brillo pad or a scrubbing pad as you can see all the dirt that still comes off the track [Music] and once again we want to do this for both sides now we want to get a dry cloth and dry out the tracks and now that's clean and we can even invite NASCAR to get on the tracks we've come to the star player of the game and that is a silicon-based lubricant this can be used for window tracks hinges locks fitness equipment in our case we use it for the treadmill as well and you don't have to buy this specific brand just make sure it's a silicon-based lubricant and we're gonna leave a link on the description of the video of this one and others that you may use what we're gonna do is spray it about three times on each side and you're gonna notice on the hours or days to come that dirt is going to start loosening from under the track because now it does not have a place to grab on to because of the lubricant so protip it's a good thing to keep an eye on it everytime you see any loose debris dirt or grime you can clean it up and now your sliding door boss you can show off to your friends how you can move the door using your pinky don't forget if you liked the video please give us a thumbs up that really helps if you have any questions place them in the comment section below don't forget to subscribe follow us on social media thank you for watching and here's a link to our latest video [Music]
