guys just a quick video to show the setup procedure for and oh one was it 250f Yamaha I believe is the same through 2:05 so don't quote me on that but very similar process anyway and similar for a lot of bikes which have kickstart four-stroke certainly since the 80s so there let's get into it so this is the new bike so I had this for a couple years bought off a close friend who he's friended prestigious Lee looked after and he'd mate and wrote up quite a bit and yes that's it pretty good me so full disclosure I have just started it with a bit of choke dead cold so hope does it make the process slightly easier but yeah the process is pretty much the same regardless of whether it's slightly warmed up or dead cold so yeah let's get into it so first thing you want to do is put your fuel on here and and then if it's cold or only just been started best process to go through is to use full choke so that just pulls out and then pops into place there and stays out don't use this one this is the hot start leave up so I've had bad mistake before after not riding the bike for about a year after just owning it to try to use this as a choke which I couldn't start the bike at all so avoid that one at all costs this is for when the engine is quite hot and I think it lends the mixture out actually does the opposite yeah and I need to replace that Oh ringing here because as you can see it's leaking a little bit of a fuel which is not great but um you know this is just a quick video to show how to get the engine running so alright so petrol one and full choke so from there we're gonna get on the bike and see if we can get it to start for us so first thing I wanna do is play kick start and from there basically what we're doing is we're gonna kick kick it over slightly not actually give it any so I want that just sort of move it through move the piston through the motion until you can sort of feel lockup we won't keep ticking over until it really feels like it's sort of locked at that point what's happening is pistons at top dead center so that's the highest compression stroke of the engine which is why it's so hard to kick over so what we're going to do from there is come over to your decompression lever and what you want to do is keep that a little squeeze in don't have to pull it too hard and then basically move the Kickstarter down only really a centimeter so just a quick quick march and then you want to bring it right back up to the top of the stroke and at this point you basically you just pass your Pistons just past top dead center if you give it a good kick this is putting the engine through the fullest motion possible to get the best possibility to start so we're just going to go that might take a couple times but depends on obviously the jetting and a few other bits and pieces on the bike to make sure that's running fine so let's just give that a few kicks and see what we get probably not enough there so again I'm just gonna kick it until it starts to get hard pull that in a little bit of a push past that motion and then again give it a good kick so I'm try that again just keep and really depends on how good a kick you're given I'm probably not wearing the right shoes here so excuse that and obviously trying to hold a camera which is your best balance so [Music] okay so that's it you saw there as I went through it I actually slowly let the truck back in now I've had it running for a couple of seconds before so was sort of warmed up but generally what you do is leave that choke out for a period of time or if you're gonna get as quickly as possible get on the bike and leave the choke on and take it for a quick run and then once essentially the engine's warmed up you should be able to just drop that choke lever back in and the bike a lot of fire if you don't do it and you just push it straight in as soon as you get started it'll quite likely die so I just sort of edged it in slowly and then give it a couple of revs just to get get it all settled in and yes that's pretty much it guys so biggest things don't get frustrated with it follow the process and it'll start fine so I tend to find it's quite reliable but a lot of people if they aren't aware of it just get on try to kick the bike and it's really gonna cause you some heartache so yeah again just get that get the engine turned over slowly until you get it to top dead center so just until you feel it lock over and then snug in your decompression lever slight kick down and then a big solid kick and actually get it started you know and some bikes I've seen people who even do it by hand so you get it right it should be easy enough to kick over and start but yeah don't get frustrated with it just stick with it stick with the process and the bottom start alright thanks for watching guys I'll update later with some more videos thanks Cheers wait
