locate all components needed for extension spring installation once track has been assembled install a cable pulley on the horizontal track angle three to four inches from the wall raise the door all the way up and reposition vise-grips attach a pulley to the end of each extension spring with a spring sheave using one 3/8 inch by one and a half inch machine bolt and one 3/8 inch hex nut fasten an eye bolt to the vertical back hang using two red 5/16 tents hex nuts four to six inches above the horizontal track fasten one end of the safety cable to the vertical back hang and thread it through the spring bring the lift cable over the forward track pulley back through the spring pulley and then forward to the track angle attach the cable adjusting clip to the end of the cable and add an S hook to the horizontal angle to make sure the cable length is the same on each side install the cable adjusting clips at the same position on each horizontal angle pull the safety cable tight and fasten the end of the safety cable to one of the holes in the horizontal angle repeat these steps for the other side a properly counterbalance doors should be able to be raised three to four feet off the floor and not move open and close the door several times to test operation of the door readjust Springs if necessary door should operate smoothly check over the entire installation make sure cable does not bind slide lock only applies if operator is not used for the slide lock installation locate the pre punch slide lock hole on the vertical track it should be near the bottom of the second section using the claw end of a hammer gently tap out the pre-punched hole align the slide lock with the hole and attach it to slide lock to the section with two quarter inch by five eighths inch universal screws work the lock mechanism to make sure it is functioning properly place your striker plate on the track so it aligns with the snap latch attach the striker plate to the track using two quarter inch by 5/8 inch track splice bolts and two quarter inch twenty hex nuts
