[Music] all right guys so we are here inside cabinets quick offices and we did a little mock-up showroom space here uh just to kind of show a few things but today what we're going to talk about is fillers so what I'm going to do is I'm going to walk you through putting in a filler in there and that's kind of the opening with the drawers that will show at the end the tools you're going to need to put in a filler are essentially a couple of dowels a couple of screws a pre-drill bit and a screwdriver tip so some of you call in to ask how the filler works because you have a couple pieces so you'll generally have two pieces for a filler backer and the filler front and the filler front will generally have a locator Mark to locate to tell you that that is the top of the filler the backer will uh just be a backer for the filler to go to and these dowel holes are meant to align so that when you put the filler together it will align the filler the reason why we did that is because um it's easier to put the filler in without any adhesives or anything and it allows you to space the front filler flush with the doors and that's how we generally like to do our installs here is the fillers and panels should be flush with the door so I'll get to showing you how to install this and then put this in front and we'll talk about why the holes are offset because you would generally will have a little bit extra material to field cut to fit and the same thing on the front filler or an example here it's going to be a little oversized because this is just a mock-up but it'll give you let me put in the down to help me hold it generally speaking you would want to put this connection on before you put the cabinet against the wall you want to have it up to the top there we're going to kind of drill somewhere where you won't really see so ideally you want to hide it behind here but for this example we're just going to kind of preview [Music] okay take a screw driver and the screw put that there and we can screw this in Okay so we've got uh two screws in generally you want to put three and for the sake of demo we're only going to put two and see how the backer is flush to the front I will now put in the dowel in here so you're just going to put the dowel in tap it in a little bit and then we'll put the filler in show you how that goes it'll be fine I actually have to get a hammer and uh tap this in a little bit so it was fully set in and you would really want to put this in before you install the cabinet so some of this stuff is or any kind of handled switch the frame a little bit and that's what it looks like this top portion is actually supposed to be up this top portion is actually supposed to be up flush and the filler technically should be matching the top door reveal but we're not going to show that in this video I'm going to put in the bottom drawer here and show how it should be put um flush with the door so normally an installer would use some double-sided 3M tape and some mastic here to stick it stick the filler on so there's no nails or any Fasteners showing the dowels actually resolve the issue of adhesive and glue so what we're going to do is kind of line the dowels take a little sacrificial block here same thing on the bottom tap it in and what you want to do is you want to tap it so it's flush and now your fingers installed flush with the door front uh this filler is installed a little high because this reveal is supposed to be up here but for the sake of demo we're going to pretend I got it right and that's basically what it should look like once you're done and uh maybe in the future I'll make a new video with it perfectly done but that's kind of just how it's it goes for fillers I hope that helps and we'll see in the next video
