hey guys welcome to another episode of plant fanatics this is going to be part three of how to grow a papa tree from seed uh i guess this is going to end up being a four part series because we have some growth on these things not top growth but some root growth and i was just excited and i wanted to give you guys an update so go ahead come over here and look at what we've got so you can see we planted these on the 8th of january this year so we're almost at a month not quite at a month [Applause] and i wanted to show you guys what's going on here look at that we've got some sprouts coming in i don't know if you guys can see that or not if we can get that focused on there but that's very exciting stuff because i wasn't very sure about this paper towel method on papa seeds but it turns out it's going to work just like it does on citrus citrus seeds and just like it does on mango seeds so it's really exciting you guys can start it out this way um i want to go ahead and take you guys out to the greenhouse and we'll see how those seedlings are going and just so you guys know i am going to leave these in here just a little bit longer i'd like for that root to be a little longer but i just thought i'd go ahead and show you that because it's pretty exciting that we've you know we got some movement on these seeds so let's go ahead and go out to the greenhouse and i'll show you what's going on out there so here we are back out in the greenhouse um this is our little area as you can see the greenhouse has become a little more busy with figs and stuff we've got more projects going on but if you guys remember in from part two if you haven't already check out part two i'll put the link in the description but we were doing this in four different ways in in four different containers and we were doing the paper towel method so what we have now is you can see we had no top growth but if you look under here it might be hard for the camera to pick up but right there we've got a root showing and that's really exciting stuff that means we're making progress it probably won't be too long before we see that top growth come up now with this big container my concern was not that they weren't going to sprout but my concern is that whenever we go to move these into different containers we're going to have to disrupt that root system and from you know what the internet says and what i've heard from other people is that pawpaws don't do well whenever you're basically transplanting them so we're going to essentially make these bare root trees and we're going to go ahead and plant them in another pot so we'll see how that works out i have a feeling it'll be okay if we're really careful but stay tuned for part four so far what we're showing is that you can do the paper towel method you can sew them into these pots and so far it's looking like it's gonna work out but thanks for tuning into this video like i said check out part one part two this is part three and part four will be the finalization of the project so stay tuned
