so my F lurch fat today's vid is three steps to neat-looking world's big wells right step one is preparation and fit up so a salad like you I'm talking about with that so I'm talking about with fit up is if I was welding and wanted to wear this join wall here so this was a part we're making all whatever you want to make sure the joint you're trying to weld is as tight as possible so if you'd sort of positioned your part in place and you had a couple of nail gap at the bottom there and it was tight around you know you could get away without you could just hang around a bit longer as you come around here and you're gonna fill that gap in and you know probably probably do alright but it's just the difference of taking that extra bit of time and that actually bit a preparation to to make sure you've got that tight gap and then that weld you can just have a really consistent looking world when the top and same if you were say this was a piece of plate I was making to go fit nicely around there you would want you would want a nice consistent size gap to fill in with weld there so if you made it and you had it you have a little bit of soy overhang up here and then too much of a gap here again you could get away with it and just fill it in with weld more here and then sort of try and wrap it round underneath there and you could join the two pieces of metal but it's just whether you can be rather to take the extra bit of time to take that off maybe you've even got a remake that piece just to get that gap all the way around this it just makes that it just makes that much different when you come to actually weld it like most things it's most the time goes into well yeah I mean 95% of the time goes into the preparation and then it's done really long to load it together but you can really see the you can really see when the preparation has been done and when it's been not rushed but like you know I mean so that's that step two is tax where you do your tax how you position your tax and how you weld around your tax so this this really stands out I think I think you should ever weld up to attack and then on from attack and then you know continue doing that so you do all your tax world up to it do the next bit I think it is looks bad it's bad so attack in a place where you can just Welsh right over the top or groin your tax down and you know continue your weld as you would normally at the attack shouldn't be part of your well it's just it's just holding in place ich until you get around to actually wearing it so that's the second thing right so this one I've made sure the gaps are nice and consistent v doubt on your tax it's just not there everything's clean this one this one you can see you got quite a big gap to fill there and then this top piece starts off starts off right there and then the run is over the editor so this is just step three it's probably the most important thing is to take dry runs at wherever as you're welding and make sure you're comfortable before you can before you start welding so make sure you can get from the position you started in to the position you're ending in before you start doing it because nine times out of ten you might get halfway along and find out you're in an uncomfortable position of your arm ten something on you can't quite get around here or you you know it up or something taking a dry run making sure that you can get from where you're starting to where you're finishing in one run and maintaining a good torch angle and also maintaining like vision of the paddle when you get right where you're going to so making sure you can see the caudal the whole way around and just do it a couple of times and it will just give you that sort of muscle memory - no way you're going and being comfortable like if you're working in a car or something sometimes you just gotta you know get out of the car and get in from another direction and like sometimes you really can't be arsed but you just have to do it if you if you want it to look good so that's the three steps and let's see what difference it makes to ignore those three steps and there use them so on this one we'll do that I'll make sure that you know uncomfortable and doing it on and I'm not gonna grow my tax out in the world up to the tax which I said oops crap you know do this try newest like one-handed and don't you see people doing a lot of time has just sort of one hand hover the torch when you can't really you know you know you need to be using like two hands and supporting together smooth so [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] right then there's our one that we prepped Eisley in comparison to the one that we just did a rush job on I thing they're like worlds apart but I'm not saying like every job you're gonna do needs to look absolutely amazing like if you're just welding up the gate and you're not getting paid for it or something then there's gonna be times you just wanna stick it together like us it's going to be strong that one just to look at it doesn't really look that great if it's like your pride enjoy a car or someone else's you're working on and you can just spend that extra few minutes just prepping it properly and getting it to look like that then why not so yeah that one I kind of did that one-handed sort of tried to make myself a bit uncomfortable you can see the tacks in the middle looks nasty just to see the tack on there and you've got a big tack hanging off there and in this bit you can see where I had to like wrap the world underneath to get it at the bottom to get it at the bottom and you can just see it sort of drop it off yeah it's just you know if you can be bothered to spend that h2 a few minutes and then I think it's well worth doing all right that's it for three tips for NATO come out doing give them a try and let me know how you get on thanks for watching Cheers [Music] [Music]
