but luckily after a few weeks that became my first gig to get me past five figures a month flying a drone keep in mind i touched a drone the first time back in 2019 hey what's going on everybody my name is marvin rosario and i'm so glad that you made it today i don't want to take up too much of your time so in the next five minutes i'm going to break down to you how you can get high ticket clients in the drone industry with no prior experience and i'm going to show this i'm going to share this story with you first on how i got into the industry my journey in the industry and where i'm at today that and the things that i have done to get to where i'm at today so it has not been overnight by any means um so i started flying drones back in 2019 and it was in the summer of 2019 my dad brought home a 30 drone from the convenience store down the street so it was like literally a drone out of the box i had no control over it and we were crashing it in the front yard like tree after tree after tree until it finally got stuck and we had to go back to the store and go get another one so it really started with passion for flight you know just continuously running through batteries charging them up trying to get as much flight time as i could i i got into the industry um as a hobby at first so i started doing research on the industry and how i could get a career as a drone pilot uh before that time i had never thought about it that was the first time i ever controlled a drone so lo and behold the part 107 certification was around and that was something that i looked at and i was like okay cool i have some experience with web development with marketing maybe i get my part 107 and try to become a drone pilot had no idea what i was getting myself into so i studied for the exam took me about three weeks to study uh by the third week went to go take the exam i passed with a 92 and i am now a certified drone pilot cool great but no clientele so i thought having the certification was going to bring the clients i was completely wrong it took me about three months to get my first client and that came from consistency of posting on social media you know that basically became my portfolio so i would post all of my work there my photos my videos all the editing that i had been doing using some of my marketing background uh and kind of mixing it with my new skill set which was flying drones so i fast forward to the first client like i said and it was a simple video um you know i was maybe flying for like 30 minutes uh got back home edited the video it took me about 30 minutes an hour pop probably and all in all two hours in and it was a 200 video and i thought i was a hot shot i was like man i just made 100 bucks an hour and i was doing it from flying a drone something that i loved something that i was doing in the front yard you know months ago and i was like cool actually i paid 100 bucks an hour to do that so the process began to where i started seeing the value in drones um but it wasn't until i really started you know putting uh putting the work into cold call to reach out to different clientele to reach out to different industry verticals that i had seen drone content being used for specifically for real estate but not residential real estate like you would think but more so for commercial real estate so the first property that i ever captured was a barn and i was like okay well that was a barn that was a very big piece of field so maybe i can do something with commercial real estate so i went down that rabbit hole of calling commercial real estate agents around my area and surrounding areas and i did that by going to a commercial real estate website going there figuring out the emails of the agents that are currently selling listings but i only chose the listings that did not have aerial content so no photos no mapping no videos they just had maybe site plans maybe they had google earth screenshots which sometimes are not accurate because you know google earth probably has photos from maybe three years ago two years ago sometimes they're pretty accurate if your area just got captured recently by the satellites but they're probably 10 years old from most areas so it's not sufficient to have that and try to sell a property when somebody you know can't go see the property and especially in the year 2020 um you know that was a big issue so uh i started my company base in january 2020 but it was about a month or two after i got my first job with that barn and then my second job was a shopping center so i had cold called a bunch of commercial real estate agents um hadn't had my business yet but i had a you know pilot license so i was just going to back date all that stuff for my taxes but um but literally you know i had to go for a call out in alabama and i'm from georgia so it was like three hours away and uh when the agent was asking me you know how much is your price we need it as soon as possible for within the next like 48 hours i was so hungry so desperate i was like uh 800 bucks he's like all right sure and he said yes way too quick i was like man should have went a little bit higher if he said yes that quick but you know it's a win-win uh it was my second job and for 800 bucks i was like cool i'm gonna be out there you know it's gonna take me about three hours to get there three hours to come back you know seven hours in the whole day after you take into account taking the photos um and then editing the content so seven hours eight hours let's just say eight hours so for 800 bucks i looked at it again as a win because it was 100 an hour and my goal was to get to 200 an hour but i was falling on 100 at the beginning so fast forward to now where we're at today 2 000 years later and all that was about a year and a half ago when i started my company a few uh weeks after that commercial real estate shoot i was like okay i'm making some money now uh you know this the concept is there so i just need to rinse a repeat so then i started my company in january of 2020 and what i've noticed is that to be able to scale it out as a drone pilot to be able to get to that five figures it requires a sense of knowledge that it's hard to look for but more so you have to find people with that experience to be able to ask him the right questions so in the industry a lot of people have um you know not really in the industry because there's just a lot of people that just get a part 107 license and they think because i have the license i can go get the work and um that's a huge misconception because just because you have the license doesn't show that you have the skill set to be able to fly the drone it doesn't show your versatility in different environments it doesn't show what you can do for different industry verticals so having the license is literally just the first step and there's so much that goes into it afterwards that you know for example i was in the commercial real estate space i was doing some work for some architects some construction companies for the promotional pieces and literally this year in 2021 back in april i heard about drones being used in the telecom industry for the first time and that was like something that like blew my mind i was like wow that's so cool i didn't know there was drone pilots around the nation uh in the united states specifically but um around the nation that were inspecting cell phone towers with a drone and i was like amazed by that so i kind of just dived deep into that not knowing what i was getting myself into but luckily after a few weeks that became my first gig to get me past five figures a month flying a drone keep in mind i touched a drone the first time back in 2019 you know so it took me some time to get there but knowing the right steps you know i wish i had kind of reversed time and been like okay i'm gonna go find somebody who knows you know all about the industry who knows how to make five figures a month already asking that question that would have saved me time and headache on buying the wrong equipment learning the wrong type of deliverables and all just wasting time but that is my story in a nutshell for what i am learning about now so a little bit about right now you know yes we still work in the telecom industry um but i've noticed that education is another facet of the drone industry that you can tap into as a part 107 licensed pilot so not only flying the drone but teaching others on how to fly the drone teaching on others on how to get certified how to fly safely you know working with school programs working with the federal government there are so many different facets in this industry and you don't have to limit yourself to one of them as a pilot but you want to choose maybe two to three of them that you can specialize in so that way you stand out in the marketplace as knowing you know you're very well versed in maybe three four industry verticals that all come together at the end of the day so that is my breakdown of a story nothing crazy nothing fancy i'm not saying by any means i'm successful by my eyes uh you know there's still a lot that i want to do but just knowing just knowing about the industry more and more learning about it more and more it's like the more that i learn the more that i know that i don't know and every day is a humbling experience to be able uh to basically you know dive deeper into it but also just ask questions and and to to know that i don't know everything so you know that's my story um that's why uh i'm in the industry but nonetheless it's something that i want to help others with so one of the things that we've been working on lately is one-on-one training and with one-on-one training we're offering out a training program where we break down all of the industry verticals that you want to get into we choose five of them we really specialize on that focus on what your goals are you know if you're trying to be a travel drone pilot and travel around the nation then it's not going to be ideal to teach you about how to run an after school drone club and work with the local elementary schools to you that doesn't make sense so we're going to cater to your goals but i invite you to join a call you know there's no no risk no trial no money down it's a free phone call but if you would like to learn more about the training program go ahead and schedule call with us it's going to be on the next page after this where you can go under this video it'll be like a book a call now button or something like that but go ahead and click on that book a call with us we can see how we can fix your goals or how we can help you reach your goals because i can't help everybody and surely enough my team and i we cannot help everybody especially with everybody has having different goals so i want to make sure that we're aligned i want to make sure that i'm in a position to help you maybe you're in a position to help us so who knows but at the end of uh this video we can go ahead and go there but before you go there to book a call i want to give you one more piece of advice so this will be something practical that you can you know go ahead and take on your journey with yourself i don't want you all to leave here without any practical advice so we're going to keep it easy keep it simple we're going to search up georgia all right and it's going to be the state georgia in the united states so boom we get all of these properties right here this is loopnet.com the main thing that we're going to look at right here is how we're going to sort out our search remember we want to find leads for commercial real estate agents so that way we can offer our aerial photography our aerial videography services to them so you go in here you find your locations which is georgia you're going to sort it out by the newest listings so this is going to find the stuff that was posted today um yesterday and so on and so forth it's going to sort it out by the newest to the oldest so you can scroll right here you see that there's a drone shot but then look at this one this is a million dollar property with no photography no joint videography so what i would do is jump into here make sure that there's no updated photography shots see this google earth screenshot with the site plans laid out but that's all digital that's not updated today this is going for a million dollars so you scroll down here you look at the brokerage the company right here that's working for them you look at the two agents that are selling that property you can easily jump in give them a call right there or even email them so basically you can go through this list go on to all of the leads right here reach out to them you can reach out to a hundred of these agents a day and i guarantee you that you get at least two to three percent that are gonna get get close a job with you but that's not gonna guarantee the ones that you can follow up with uh the next week next following weeks because this is what they specialize in so you can find all of these properties right here just go through and see which ones don't have area photography which ones do kind of like this one you can tell the photos are edited more right there but that is a simple tip to be able to go get you 10k in your first month i'll see you guys the next page hope you have a good one
