It may not wrinkle but it still has creases all over, not much better.
Yeah, this is just how to retail fold. This will absolutely cause wrinkles and creases.
Also remember to pack a clothes hangar, so that when you get to your destination. A lot of hotels only have the hangars that you can't remove from the closet. If you don't have a good iron where you're staying you can leave it in the bathroom and give it a good steam while you're in the shower.
I have traveled a lot and packed a lot of shirts.
What I learned is that it doesn't really matter how you fold your shirt. What matters is the material it's made out of. Some shirts I have will not wrinkle or crease no matter how I fold them. They are cotton too so it must be the way they are made or something. Others will wrinkle between the time you take off the ironing board and put it on.
As a general rule it's better to roll your clothes than to fold them. You can pack them more efficiently and they wrinkle less. You can even do this with suit jackets and pants.
If it's for business or you have a formal occasion plan on ironing when you unpack. Don't worry about trying to prevent creasing and folding.
And when you have more than one shirt
