how's it going everybody this is double wide 6 and today we're going to show you how to fix that sliding glass door that doesn't slide too well you can see it's very stiff to push and uh we're going to be working on the track on the bottom see what it takes to repair it the first thing that we need to do is there's a strip up top with some Philips head screws that runs long the top of the door we need to remove that so we got double wide 6 junr here holding the door I've removed the strip up top and now that the strip is removed we can carefully open the door and if you look at the top of the door it'll it'll pull out of the track so you want to make sure if you do this you get someone like my mini helper down there to help you out so I put the door on the side um I was going to move it up to an island countertop but the thing's too heavy it probably weighs like 90 lb seems like there's sand in the door anyhow if you look down here at these wheels there's all kinds of dog hair stuck in here and all that type of stuff so I'm going to clean that out with a screwdriver maybe some compressed air and then if we look at the track the track is kind of dirty too I've already tried to oil the store a couple times on the bottom and up top cuz I thought it was binding up there as well with the door on and it works a little bit but there's still issues with this thing so I'm going to clean these things out all righty so I cleaned uh the hair out of here and basically I'm just taking a little penetrating oil and we're just going to spray some oil in here lightly and and uh I'll spin the wheels a little bit another issue that I'm trying to clean up is the track um I noticed some dirt embedded in here so I've just taken a little bit of my um spray uh liquid wrench silicone spray and um basically I've uh removed the dirt and I'm just trying to shine up the track so it spins pretty good and my helper went off on another mission so I'm on my own here I'm just going to finish cleaning up the track so I've uh completely cleaned the track that looks real good I've oiled up the wheels and cleaned out all the dust I've uh this mating Edge this has some friction on it so I clean that off real well with the silicone spray and then also the top that was was uh a little bit sticky too I had put a little bit of soap up there to help it slide like a bar of soap and uh that seems like it was a little sticky so I cleaned that off and uh basically all the mating surfaces and oh this strip here as well um I cleaned up as well so now we're about ready to reinstall the door so I finished up everything here and uh we got the door moving really nice and really smooth it's still a heavy door so it does take a little effort to open it but it's it's about 100% better um one of the things I looked at was uh the height of the door you want to check if it's hitting the top up here if it's bumping the top you can pop out these little plugs down here and you just use a flathead screwdriver or an allen wrench in there and you can basically turn it to the right when you tighten it it'll raise the door when you turn to the left it'll lower the door there's two of those and that adjusts the height of your rollers and the other thing that I found that was binding is on these doors these are Anderson's there's a a sponge down here I guess to prevent cold air from coming in that was rubbing against the door on the bottom and there's another one it's kind of hard to see but up top here and uh what I was able to do was uh spray a little bit of that silicone in there and uh that took care of it and now the uh door is working real well so uh I'm double wide six and hope you enjoyed this video and we'll give you a last look at my helper he was out here working on the store with me doing a great job so you can check out my other repair videos and and please subscribe see you next time
