How to FIX "steam was unable to sync your files" (2022)

so if you've clicked on this video you're probably having the same issue that i am where it says steam was unable to sync your files for steam input config with the steam cloud now i had just finished up a twitch stream of our twitch.tv slasher jaden and everything was working perfectly fine and then this air happened so in this video i'm gonna go ahead and show you guys how to fix this air so that you can go back to gaming on steam now there are a few causes of this issue so i'm gonna go through a few of them and hopefully one of them will end up working for you the first thing we're gonna do is go to the steam directory and delete the user data folder so in order to get to the scene directory you want to open up your file explorer and then go go to this pc and now if your steam is in your c drive or your solid state you're going to want to go there to program files x86 and then scroll down to where it says steam right here and then this folder right here but user data all lowercase and then all you have to do is go ahead and uh delete it like that and close it out and go ahead and relaunch your game on steam and see if it works if that doesn't work you want to go ahead and verify the integrity of the game files now if you don't know how to do that go to the specific game you want to play right click it and then go to properties from properties you'll see this little thing right here that says local files click that and then verify integrity of game files depending on the size of the game this can take anywhere between 5 to 15 minutes however while you are waiting for these game files to verify go ahead and watch the video that's in the top right of the screen right now it's a pretty good watch once it is finished it's going to say this all files successfully validated all you need to do is close it and then go ahead and launch a program again now if you're still having issues you need to repair your steam library folder to do that you want to go to your steam app and then click on view and then go to downloads from here you want to go to the little settings button over here to open download settings click on that then where it says steam library folders click on that and then you'll see these three dots over here go ahead and click on that and then repair folder once the photo is repaired it'll say this go ahead and close that exit out and go ahead and try to open up the game you're trying to before if you're solving issues either the windows antivirus software or your own antivirus software may be messing with steam and stopping you from loading up the game if you're using a private antivirus software go ahead and just go and disable that i don't know which one you're using so you probably know how to disable that but there's also a second anti-virus software which is the windows one it's just windows defender all you have to do is just look up windows defender down here and uh just pop up on the control panel right here versus windows offender go to turn widows of better firewall on or off click on that now on both private and public network settings just go ahead turn it off like so and press ok then once again try to load up that game again now after all that if you're still having issues there's one last thing that could be the problem which is that the steam servers are currently down in order to go ahead and check to see the steam servers are down i highly recommend just looking up steam server status and then looking for the link that goes to down detector which is the second link for me go ahead and open that and if you see a lot of reports like this right here that probably means that the servers are down and then you will not be able to play for a little bit all you have to do is go ahead and sit back and wait but while you're waiting i have a ton of videos on this channel that you guys may enjoy as well as having a huge discord of over 250 members so if you haven't subscribed and haven't joined the discord make sure you go ahead and do those and i hope you guys have a good rest of your day peace
