HOW TO ... Fix a UPVC Door

hello I'm Steven at SF locksmiths short video show you if you're having problems locking your door lifting the handle what we can do about it your door mechanism you should have a series of hooks and rollers when you close the door and you lift the handle if we having metal to metal contact that's where the resistance will be coming from let's check the alignment the distance at the top and the bottom should be pretty much the same if it's not we need to adjust the hinges you might need with this case of these hinges is an allen key cheapest chips from the uh DIY store insert the Allen key just make half a turn then check the handle again keep doing that half a turn then go to the bottom one half a turn and just keep checking this handle and you'll find that that result resistance eases off that's one of the problems other problem can be that the distance is actually the same top to bottom if you're still struggling with the door shows that the door itself is dropped this is a heavily glazed door not wait pushing down over a period of years what you need to do is remove these beads and repack this door this is probably a service you're going to have to employ a professional to do it can be done but I'd advise you to get a professional in won't cost a lot if you continue to lift this handle you'll eventually break the mechanism and that will be expensive so I think it's better off getting a service if you've got a door then actually you can't actuate the me mechanism at all or it's still in a lot of position and you can't get it open go and check out our other video and this will give you advice on what to do in those circumstances thank you
