right so now i've got my recess sorted that's all cleaned off nicely so that will now sit in the reveal of the window so we've got a nice round corner here right the way through so that will just sit in there like that and that will sit underneath where we put our fixing through so obviously it keeps it nice and secure in that place [Music] so what we're going to do is basically measure the internal opening which is just in the 920 okay so i'm going to cut this out basically what a 915 inside but also what you need to allow for is your horns of your seal board so we're going to go for an additional 50 ml of the side like that and like that so i know that's 915 internally plus 50 mil there so i need 10 1 5 overall i'll cut my seal board out and then we can then cut the internals here so the silver will slide straight in and what i'll do is as well i'll cut around here so the silver slides in nicely just passed into the plasterboard and then it'll be skimmed in nicely and finished off so like i said we need 915 for the inside of the window plus 50 ml either side for the nose in so that is 10 1 5 so we need to cut our silver there and then we can cut 50 mil in either side up to our nosing point and then we know then our silver is going to sit nice and snug inside so we'll get this chopped off and then we can offer up and see [Music] i've got that cut and i know only ml either side for my nose-ins so i'm going to come 50 mil back here 50 ml back on this side but before i get this trimmed out i've got to do the overall depth of the windowsill i know that i need 265 that gives me a 30 mil overhang into well past the plasterboard so i'm just gonna get the table saw set up now get this trim down and then we can look at getting these horn sorted [Music] get an off cut or another bit of timber get it set in here and get it trimmed off and then that way you know then that you are in the right place because although it reads 265 it might be slightly out somewhere but we'll give this a little go [Music] so i can see there we're at 264 so i'm just going to move this over ever so slightly [Music] [Music] there we go i'm at 265 now so i know this is set bang on for where i need to do what i need to do so i'm just going to get my seal board in get that run off and then we can look [Music] okay so now i've cut my lip using the table saw just basically got it set up to cut this little detail out here uh what i need to do now is just finely tune this up just to give us a nice sharp edge just where the blade didn't quite meet uh when i came back over with my other cut and then once that's done then we can start getting our horns marked out and cut right so now i've got my recess sorted that's all cleaned off nicely with my chisel so that will now sit in the reveal of the window all i need to do now is mark out where my horns are going to be so like i said they're 50 mil back so we're going to go like that nice square line and then same down this side nice square line down there we know we've got a 30 mil overhang and then we want to sink it into the plasterboard slightly as well so we're going to go 35 mil to here like that and then 35 mil there as well across like that and then what we're gonna do is remove this piece here and then what's gonna happen is this is just gonna go like that slide in this will sit up against the brickwork here and then this nose and then will carry on past into well over the plasterboard then when it's all plastered in have a nice little nose on there we'll put also borneos around over on this little piece here as well i might do that in fact i'm gonna do that before i trim this off so that way then i get a nice edge past here yeah i can just bring the router past to this point and then i can just trim that off afterwards i'm gonna have a nice clean edge there i've got to worry about trying to route just on a tiny little bit so i'll get my router set up and get this done right so now what i've done i've got these rounded over so we've got a nice round corner here right the way through just have to do a bit of fetal in just to make sure they're exactly how we want them and now because i've left this chunk in i've been able to just carry on through with morality just give me a nice edge there because the last thing i'm going to do is trying to balance the rails around a little bit like this so because i've left this in it just enabled me to go a little bit further with my outer and then we're all good so what i'm gonna do now is get this section cut out this section cut out and then we'll go and see if it fits [Music] moment of truth this is always the fun bit all right that's looking good that's looking good you can see obviously i'm not right the way back to the frame because like i mentioned i'm tight back to the plasterboard there so i just need to get this level to where it wants to be trim around this plasterboard here and then that will just sit nicely back in there so then when the plasterers skim it i can just skim straight over that and it will just be as if it was meant to be there so yeah that's good bit fiddling around just around these horns and it'll be in we can show you how we get it fixed down [Music] so you can see what i've done now i've basically just marched around the hall into the silver board in here with a pencil and then i'll just use my knife just to basically cut it out like that nice and neatly and then just use basically the flat of the blade just to carve it out just like that so then when i come to the silver now let me sit back in nice and tight like that so it's just behind the face of the plasterboard like so and then like i say once it's all fixed in then this will keep it nice and snug in there and then when the plasters come and plaster it in it'll all be covered over and it will be part of the wall like it was meant to be right so we want to get this fixed in but before we do the few things that we're going to need to get in place ready mainly first one is wedges okay you can just see under here basically where the password is cut back it was just cut to a nominal size and then obviously that's what they have to be doing afterwards so we've got three sets of wedges in here for our three fixings simply wooden wedge just a piece like this just to bulk it up a bit because the wedges that we have going around a little bit narrow for what i needed so that would just sit in there like that and that will sit underneath where we're gonna put our fixing through so obviously it keeps it nice and secure in that place and therefore you're putting a wedge over here and fixing there because it's just to pull it down you want to be directly underneath your fixing and then that will pull it down nicely and keep it exactly where you want it to be okay so we've got three sets of those but you may also wonder why we did the little recess at the back of the seal that is because it's going to sit on the the part at the bottom basically the seal off the window like that so then when we fix this down it'll put everything nice and tight down it'll hold it in place on that seal underneath the window you'll never see it under there that's why we cut the recess out just holds everything nice and snug and tight and when it's pushed down you've got it exactly where you want it to be also what we're going to do we're just going to put a little bead of silicon across this back edge here yeah so that when we push this sill board in it just forms a nice seal across the back here so if any water does get on there it doesn't start seeping down the back and causing the issues with the rotting the sill out so we just put that in there a little precautionary measure there's no real structural reason for it it's just literally stopping you moisture getting down the back of it so what i'm going to do now i've obviously drilled my my holes for my plugs i'm going to get this in place i'm going to move my weight just slightly out of the way like this like this like this and then i'm going to be using brown plugs so i need a seven mil masonry bit for these plugs but what i'm gonna do i'm gonna drill through here with a six millimeter bit through this hole into the masonry into the block work underneath just to make a little basically an indent a pilot in three places i'm gonna do that repeat that in all the fixings i'm gonna take the silverboard out drill this through with the proper seven mil masonry bit so the reason that i'm using a six mil bit a smaller bit is because obviously we wanna leave as much meat in this hole as possible so by going through with a bigger bit you're starting to eat into the actual width of this so the smaller bit you can get through here the better i mean you could even go smaller than a six ml to be honest now you could use a five four whatever you've got just to make sure you make an indent in the block work underneath or the brickwork and then you can move the cell and do the proper hole and then all you need is enough basically for the screw to fit through there because obviously if you take out too much meat from the sill board when you can pull your screw through there's a potential it could just pull straight through and then you you knock it basically you can't fix it down so this is why i'm doing it this way so i know where i need to be i'm gonna use my six mil wood bit [Music] through my feet put it onto hammer and then i know i'm where i want to be i'm not worried about being level at the minute because i'm just trying to make my holes and get everything right i'm in the right position i'm just going to go keep a push back against the window as well take a [Music] a little mark there so now i know when i remove this seal like that i've got hole hole hole change our bit over because here that i'm actually in the joint i'm gonna move this fixing over so i get a nice positive fix and especially if it's in the middle i don't wanna be fixing into this purp here i wanna get straight into the block work so i'm just gonna sit back on now and just re-drill that all i need to do is just fill that hole with a plug and a completely fine all right get my plugs in okay so we've got all our fixing sorted we've got our wedges sorted we know where we need to be now what i'm gonna do just to show you before the seals on obviously remove these out of the way we're gonna slide our wedges straight over our fixing like so so when we come down and fix through everything's nice and solid and also it just keeps everything pinched nice and tight and then when we fix down our seal board onto this it's got this to push against it's all also got this bit of seal here to latch on to yeah so the recess in the back will sit onto that and we're just going to want to be the silicon across the back here as well whip that off quickly so we've got a nice positive place for it to go obviously you're never going to see that because it's still bored we'll cover that completely and just latch on to there i'm just going to get my silicon bead in now [Music] [Music] nice push like edges [Music] just gently put in place for now so we know it's like we're tight in the back here our seal is going to be nice and obviously we need to level across this way so we'll just push our wedges in to suit now it needs to come up [Music] right so what i'm doing now is basically getting ready to fix this down so i'm going to use a plug cutter which is basically a counting bit like this and a bit like this and this fits in there like so so you use this to drill the hole into where you're going to fix it pilot drills a hole basically where you want to go and also then it creates a little recess in which the plug that you cut out with this of the same timber will then go in over the screw you can cut it off and then hide the screw there completely so you haven't got to put any filler in you've actually got the same material going in the hole so like i said i've already done these already you've got three fixed cutting across there i'm just gonna get the plug cutter like this [Music] and then all that's done is cut three little plugs like this in here all you need to do then is just snap them off [Music] and there's three and they just come out like this just a little pellet and then all they do is just pop straight in that hole just put a little bit of glue in there you can send the edges down as well just give you a bit of a chamfer on there and then just tap that in and then that will cover over your screw once you fix this down put the plug in and like say you can just cut it straight off give it a nice sand down and then you will never know you can even be really good and get the grain to go the same way as well so if you do ever see the grain or if you decide to stain it it looks like part of it boom right [Music] all right that's it so fixings are all in nicely just cast your level across and you can see that we are nice and level exactly how we want to be we'll level across this way as well so now all i need to do is basically just trim off our little wedges here just got a pull saw or just a normal saw will do just trim these back nice and flush and then plaster them and get this filled in here get it all taped over and then it's ready to skim so we've got our plugs yeah obviously the end that you snap come out that needs to go down [Music] get yourself some glue now that you've just basically took the edges off that will just slide in there nicely so a bit of glue on the end here like so give it a nice smudge round you want to get make sure you get enough on there but don't absolutely flood it because it's just going to make getting this plug in there a bit of a nightmare [Music] what i'm gonna do now is just leave that to dry and then i'm gonna get my little saw my little japanese pool saw trim these off nice and flush give it sundown cut my wedges and then this is ready for plastering boom [Music] you
