How To Fish Blade Baits For Walleye

foreign [Music] everybody so uh welcome back to another video here we got a pretty interested video we were out here yesterday dodging those uh rainstorms so it was Saturday and burned about forty dollars in gas looking for fish we drove he looks for fish from 52 feet of water all the way to six we were off of Point Avenue Sturgeon point we drove all over this Lake looking for a consistent screen that we were marking fish and legitimately just couldn't find that we lost one fish on a four color out in 61 feet of water and never found any fish and we fished for five six hours ended up in the gaps Jake and never found anything and so we said all right well let's slow it down a little bit um our presentation and literally we drove around this morning for about a half hour um right here in 47 feet of water 48 feet of water just looking for fish um and we marked a couple fish drifted through and marked a couple more fish drifted through them and we finally found a pretty decent school of fish exactly what we were throwing earlier in the year and we got a report from a guy yesterday who kind of tipped us off to us about this bite that we caught 30 out here and uh the blade baits tried to figure that out as fast as we could and we got accepted through Cabela's so you guys should be good with that and uh yeah hopefully we get a few more fish it's a it's a really weird pattern like no one else really does it pretty cool and uh hopefully we get a couple more get a good video for you guys so let's get back after it there we go all right so this is in the three quarter ounce size Cabela's um blade bait yeah we're running it on the middle hole be honestly I've never tried other holes we just have confidence with that one it gives it a different presentation if you put it in one of those different settings and so all we're doing we're just basically keeping the boat straight with the Troll Motor and just letting it drift and I'm just firing this thing as far as I can get it and just letting it go all the way to the bottom we're in 48-ish feet of water we'll be a little deeper and a little shallower kind of just drifting through where we drove over some fish is the important part we're not just setting up and casted willy-nilly we drove for literally a half hour this morning and finally found some fish and I've been just fishing over them so I finally just hit the bottom there I'm gonna do is pull it up and just reel down let it the important parts let it smack the bottom again they like it when it stirs up the mud a little bit and bring it up again and that fish I missed one this morning where I pulled up and it just hammered quite better than others and some fish are more aggressive than others um you can also so we're basically just yo-yoing this right now but some guys they'll put their rod right in the water and they'll just slowly reel it just enough to get that bait to vibrate that's the really important part and that thing's down there is just shaking and it comes back down and it shakes again and it comes back down you can kind of do a number of different retrieves with it but the one that always works for us is just pulling it up letting it hit the bottom I'll get that all the way back to the boat you know fire it out there again so here we go hooked up you have no idea what this is it hit it when it was dropping I jigged it once I just missed a fish too gotta be it still being a pounder though I mean it the fight is weird I guess I should kind of get a net ready just in case something cast in uh I see it small mouth Maybe Maybe right back to the bottom kind of act like a big walleye let's just get it a little ridiculous it's got to be a sheep head running like that I would think but I don't know if it's a walleye it's a giant my word it finally stopped running that's good that was really it was like a 10 second run I know I It's gotta be a sheep I saw a color way way way down there but I couldn't tell see it see it yep sheepad coming in like a barn door gosh darn it well all right well it's under the chin that's what happened now we'll get this guy unhooked and get back at it hmm at least we got some this guy dude yeah oh my God I got something good job what do we get hurt I think he burnt well downsized dude spoon yep and the fish downsized too wow really there we go it's another technique yeah I don't know just trying some different stuff we're still driving over that same school of fish we looked around some more like 20 minutes and just couldn't find anything so we're just grinding away on these ones trying some different stuff so I picked up the spoon we were marking some suspended fish I literally just said I'm like I think I just felt the bottom and then that dude latched on so bad I don't know I'm trying one way Will's hooked up you don't know what it is guessing it's a sheep head but it's kind of not fun you never know I mean but I mean it's it's hard for like oh I should put all the freaking toothy Critter pops up you're like what no so I'm missing my six pound walleye the rod is I haven't seen it oh geez It's gotta be issue but it's super heavy it's acting weird you're right huh big walleye big wall no way big walleye all right just take your time really it's nice hold on all right hold on yep I'm gonna nut it right in front of you you go easy okay you ready I can't see anything so ready [Music] oh my God just take it easy we got all the time in the world oh my God I can't see them holy cow are you kidding me whoa William okay oh man what oh my God holy cow we did it I think he wanted it we did it open water blade baiting what dude that's like a freaking I mean that's a seven eight pounder right there that thing holds so fat we thought it was a sheep head it wasn't making the runs on my hips doesn't feel right Open Water blade baits we've been trolling and trolling for weeks not having good luck we thought why don't we just go out broke the hook on that okay um holy cow William let me take the camera from you don't hold that up dude what that's a tanker it's a tank all right we're gonna try to get her back if she doesn't slow she doesn't kick her we'll keep her but she kicks off good I'd like to get her back oh how much you think that thing away we didn't throw it on the skin I think it'd be seven and a half maybe eight I mean the back look at the back on that thing that's a big fish and it's big Open Water blade baits I love it holy cow you want to hit the trolling motor a little bit yeah let me uh all right everybody that's gonna wrap it up for us got some errands to run this afternoon um so weird is out real quick and it shows that that blade bait put in some work today um just trolling or not trolling I should say jigging um right along the bottom all we were doing really like I said earlier was just we'd drive along Mark some fish kind of do a quick S turn around and see if there was any more fish around and drift right back through them and rip that brave it off the bottom in pretty short order we got that nice eight pounder and uh I lost a couple others here in the last hour or two but just a real short video today
