in today's video I'm going to be showing you how to export project stems in five easy steps in Cubase 12 without wasting much of your time let's get into the video hi guys what's up and welcome back to the channel if you're new to this channel my name is Jay I make music production tutorials on YouTube on mixing and mastering so consider subscribing and click that post notification Bell so that you get notified every single time I upload a brand new video so I've tried my best to break down the process of exporting project stems into five easy steps that you can follow the first step is organize your project so what I mean by organizing your project is first of all removing everything that you don't need in that project just make sure that you label each and every channel according to what they are I've got my hook here and I've got another hook right here and if you take a look at this I've cleaned out everything that I don't need that's the reason why you see so many spaces here let's say for example we've arranged everything and everything is cleaned out like that and we've labeled everything so what you need to ask yourself now is do you want to export these vocals with the effects on them what I mean by this is if I come to my channel here you'll notice that I've got auto tune right here which I had put and I've got an EQ going on here so the question is do I want to export these vocals with these settings on but if the answer is no then I need to come here to the channels and just bypass this come to all this and just bypass the plugins and make sure that if it's linked to a group I remove it and just send it directly to a stereo out so send all these vocals to stereo out and make sure that you bypass all the effects all right so if you want to export with your autotune on and everything that you've done on make sure that you leave them on the channels so assuming that we are done with linking these to still out and by passing everything that we've done on the vocal so now what you need to do is just make sure that you set this from the beginning to the end so that it exports right from the beginning to the end you can now go to your export window go to file then go to export then audio mix down so what we can do now is select the channels that we want to export so I can simply push it to this side so make sure you click on multiple here and click on this the sync selection to channel I'm going to click control on my keyboard and then just select all the channels that I want to export say for example I don't want to export this channel right here I can skip it do that skip the channels that I don't want to export once I'm done with all the channels that I want to export you can see them all right here I'm now going to select the file type so if you're exporting your project stems it means you've got intentions of baby one day working on them again or sending them somewhere for mixing export them in Web format so that you don't lose any type of quality so you make sure that you select web then for the sample rate you can select 44.1 then the bit depth can be 32-bit so for stems you need to ask yourself whether you want to export as mono or stereo and this is where you choose from so what you see here has interleaved this is Stereo mono down mix is just the left and right channel combined together into a mono Channel and this is how you should export your Vocal Stems when you're exporting your files in mono that means your bid for example should not be included because you wouldn't want to export your beat in mono your beat should be completely stereo you first export your vocals and then you export your beat stems or just your bit in Stereo afterwards if you don't want to come back again and Export the bit in another type here you can simply select stereo so that you export Everything at Once In Stereo and that's not a problem so let's say in this case we want to export in mono so I'll select mono here and the next step is simply create a folder so I'll click this and choose go to any location of your choice and create a folder so I'm going to create this folder with the name of this song just add project stems at the end or at once that is done I'll double click and then save and this is where all my project stems will go once this is done I can simply go to export so once you're done exporting what you'd want to do is check if all those stems have been exported in the way that you wanted them just open a new project then go to the folder where you saved all those stems just highlight everything and drop them in here so you can now see that all my stems are here now I can see everything everything is properly labeled so once you are sure that everything has been done properly and everything is playing just fine then you're done alright guys thanks a lot for watching if you found this video helpful don't forget to give it a like because it helps the channel grow if
