hey Art friends today we're going to draw Santa Claus we're going to draw a cartoon version of him we're gonna draw his whole body he's going to be really cute we're going to draw him right in the middle of our paper now we've already drawn Santa Claus but we just drew his head and we filled up the whole paper it's a really cool lesson I'll leave a link to check that one out if you haven't seen it yet we're going to first start by drawing his eyes right in the middle of our page and we're going to draw two circles we're going to draw we're going to draw them about this size we're going to draw two circles and then also remember on these lessons when I'm just by myself I might go a little too fast so remember to pause the video if you need extra time all right let's draw smaller circles inside of these big circles and I'm going to draw them in the top right corner now this is for the shine in his eyes to make them look friendly we're going to draw smaller circles also in the bottom left corner now let's color in the big circle and leave the other two circles White all right we got his eyes done now let's draw his beard we're going to draw a big U shape that comes down over and back up and this is awesome it's going to be his beard but we're going to add more details for his face okay now we're going to draw the bottom of his hat so we're going to connect the u from the left side over to the right side let's draw the rest of his face so we're going to draw another U that's smaller inside so right here we're going to start we're going to come AC cross right under his eyes and then back up on the other side there's the top of his beard now we're going to draw his nose and I'm going to just draw a circle right in between his eyes cool now let's draw his eyebrows we can draw two little eyebrows and we can't forget his mouth we're going to draw a really fun mouth who draw a little smile right here but we're going to draw open so let's draw a u-shape underneath his smile big u-shape he's really happy okay and then let's draw his tongue inside of there we'll draw a little curve comes down and then let's color in the top part leave the bottom part white so we can color that pink later okay let's finish this hat we're going to draw the side of his his uh the fuzzy part of his hat on both sides so we're going to draw a line that comes down and it's going to come past the top of his head so it looks 3D and it looks like it's wrapping around his head then let's connect the top we'll connect these two lines and this line is going to match the bottom line so you want to make sure that this curve matches that first curve that we drew right here okay now let's draw the little the little fuzzy pom pom on top of his hat we'll draw a little circle right here kind of like the Snowman if you haven't checked out that lesson you got to check that one out too we drew a Santa hat on top of on top of our snowman and we're using those same steps so we drew a little circle then we're going to draw a sideways vshape that connects to the bottom down here now this line if you were to draw an imaginary line it comes through it lines up with the side of his head that makes it look like his hat fits on top of his head all right now we're going to draw the top of his hat we'll start over here and I'm going to draw a big curve that goes all the way over and connects and see how that lines up with this side of his head too next let's draw his ears we can draw a c-shape over here for one ear and we'll draw a backwards C on this side for his other ear all right we got his head he's looking awesome I'm sure your drives are looking really cool too now let's try his body we're going to start over here right below his ear and we're going to draw a curve that comes down for the side of his body now you if you want to you could draw your Santa taller and you could draw this line coming down further but I'm going to draw them kind of short so I'm going to draw another line on this side for the other side of his body and that's going to line up and come down at the same length okay now let's connect the bottom I'm going to turn my paper this way sometimes that makes it a little easier to draw lines if you if you want to you can turn your page you don't have to leave your paper stuck to the table sometimes it helps to turn your page to draw a line okay so we got the bottom of Santa's body let's draw the bottom of his coat now I'm going to draw a little a little fuzzy detail that goes along the bottom of his coat the same as his hat so I'm going to draw another line and see how it goes past up here so it looks like it's 3D and it's wrapping around his body we'll do that on both sides and then let's connect those two lines now this bottom line is going to match that first line we drew just like we did up here and see how we're curving it the other direction this makes Santa Claus look like he's round so I'm going to turn my page again and we'll connect those two lines there we go we got the bottom of Santa Claus's coat all right next let's draw his belt I'm going to draw a square right here in the middle of his body and I'm going to draw a big Square so I'm going to draw an L shape first and then I'm going to connect the top over to the Bottom by drawing an upside down L there's our Square now I'm going to draw another Square inside of that I'm going to draw another L shape inside and then we'll connect the top down to the bottom okay that's his belt buckle then we're going to draw the rest of this belt and we're going to draw lines for this belt that match this same curve down here so watch this we'll draw this bottom one first I'm going to draw it it's going to come over here and curve up just like we did on the bottom of his coat and then we'll do the same thing with the top of the belt see how there's a slight curve up that's making his body look round in 3D we'll do the same thing on the left side come over here and we'll curve up same thing with the top of the belt look at that looks like it's wrapping around his body okay now let's TRW some more details for his coat I'm going to split his coat right in the middle so we're going to draw a line right down the middle of his coat and we don't want to draw it through the middle of his belt though this line is going behind his belt coming out the bottom and then we're going to draw a little detail here maybe this is white more white fluffy uh trim on his coat so I'm going to draw another line that comes over here goes behind the belt comes out the bottom he looks awesome okay we're missing arms so let's draw his first arm over here we'll draw a line that comes out over his shoulder and then it's going to come back into his body and we're going to draw more of this fluffy details on his coat we're going to draw a side line that comes out and down and then it's going to come back into his body and then we'll draw a little U shape or a j-shape for his glove he's wearing mittens so we don't need to draw the fingers okay we're going to repeat those same steps over here so we get some practice we're going to draw another line that comes down we want this to be the same length and we'll come back into his body then we're going to draw that detail that goes around his his sleeve so come down and then connect back in and then we're going to draw that Mitten so we'll draw a j shape it comes down connects into his body he's got two arms now all right he's missing his feet so let's draw let's draw his toes first and we'll draw his toes on this side so we draw one line coming down and then we'll draw his heel over here coming straight down and then we'll connect these two at the bottom okay okay let's repeat those same steps we'll draw his his toes first coming down and then we'll draw his heel and then we'll connect them at the bottom all right the last thing we got to draw for Santa is his toy Zack we're going to draw a a curve that comes out over here and we can draw it kind of wobbly so it looks like he's got lots of toys in there then we're going to connect it back into a shoe down here at the bottom and we're using overlapping that means that Santa is in front of his toy sack so it makes it look 3D it looks like this bag is behind Santa because we're only drawing part of it okay now let's draw the top of the toy sack we're going to draw maybe there's a little rope that ties it together so let's draw that up at the top and then let's draw the part of the the sack that's closed so we're just draw a wobbly line that comes out like this crazy fun line comes back in now we can draw a few little wrinkles and we can also draw maybe we got little bumps here where the toys are poking through all right now I'm going to draw maybe he's out standing in the snow I'm going to draw a little bumpy line right here that's just kind of goes off to the side on both sides for the snow all right we finished Santa Claus he turned out awesome now I'm sure your drawings look really cool too now he's going to look even better once we color him so let's put our markers off to the side this part I'm going to fast forward but I'm going to use colored pencils to color him and you guys at the end can pause it if you want to match the coloring that I did we did it we finished coloring Santa Claus now the last step I went around the outside of Santa with my Sharpie again and thicken the lines so it looks like he's going to pop right off of the page now you guys can pause the video right now if you want to so that you can match the coloring or use your imagination and color your Santa Claus any way you want now it's okay if your drawings look different than mine I hope they do actually because the most important thing is to have fun and remember the second most important thing is to practice I promise the second time you draw Santa Claus he'll turn out better than the first time we'll see you later art friends goodbye
