hey Art friends in this video we're going to draw a really cool folding surprise when it's folded up it'll look like a cooler and then when you open it it will have an explosion of fun summer stuff and I hope you're going to follow along with me you need your drawing supplies let's get started I'm using a marker to draw with but you can use a pencil or whatever you have and we also have marker paper this helps keep our markers lasting longer and also works best with our alcohol based markers let's first start by folding our paper in half we're going to take the top and Edge line it up with the bottom Edge and crease it down the middle and out to the corners then we're going to take this top flap and line it up with the top Edge and then fold it down next let's flip our paper over and repeat that same step we'll take the top flap line it up with the top Edge and crease it down if I ever go too fast especially because it's just me in the studio you can always pause the video for more time this last full is just a guide fold so we'll unfold it and flatten it out and then flip our paper back over when we're all done it should open up like this I'm going to place a scratch piece of paper underneath my drawing paper that's to protect our table because I'm using markers let's first draw our cooler and we're going to draw the lid above the fold but the rest of the cooler below so let's first draw a vertical line coming down across the fold and most of that line is below so we just have a little bit above for the lid then we're going to connect the top and also the bottom let's put a wheel over here on the left side going to draw a circle that goes outside of the cooler and we're going to add the center right here let's color in the wheel but leave the center white let's also add a funny face to our cooler I'm going to draw the mouth really wide open because it's screaming because everything's exploding out of it we're going to draw teeth inside and I'm going to draw a tongue down here and also let's color in the inside of the mouth now let's draw the eyes I'm going to draw a circle on the left and also a circle on the right we're going to add our little highlights in the top left of each eye and then color in the big circle but leave that little circle white let's also add a handle to our cooler I'm going to draw a circle right here and then we'll draw two lines coming up and then another Circle to connect the top we could add more details to our cooler but let's leave it just like this and open up our paper we can also flatten out the fold so it's easier to draw on we have the lid up here at the top and the bottom of the cooler down here at the bottom everything else we're going to draw is below this top fold and above the bottom fold we want to make sure that we don't draw outside of these folds because when it's folded up we want it to be hidden let's first extend the lid down just past the fold on each side and then we'll connect those two lines together then we can do the same down here we'll extend the bottom of the cooler up on both sides and then connect those lines across now we're ready to draw all of the exciting summer stuff that we've got packed inside of our cooler now you can add different things also you don't have to draw the same things you could draw your favorite food or snacks even a bunch of other summer stuff like sunglasses let's start with drawing pop we we're going to have a lot of pop in our cooler and I'm going to start by drawing a rectangle shape we're going to draw it tall and also drawing the tip so that it's diagonal then we're going to draw two diagonal lines for the top and connect those and then two diagonal lines for the bottom and connect those there's a simple pop can or soda can however you like to call it then I'm going to draw a design on my soda can and you can change the design to be your favorite pop maybe it's root beer or lemonade I'm going to draw another rectangle shape we're going to try try to draw these the same size and I'm going to go a little faster because I'm just repeating the same steps we could draw a circle on this one maybe it's different flavor I'm going to add a bunch of these all over let's add maybe two more one up here this one's tipped a little bit more One Direction and oh that's kind of a different that one's taller then we're going to draw another one over here may this one isn't as diagonal it's more straight up and down and draw the top and the bottom and also I'm going to add some designs on these let's also draw one that is sticking out of the cooler I'm going to only draw part of it because the bottom part is inside of the cooler we can also add a design there we go and we got all of our soda now let's add more things maybe chips let's draw bags of chips I'm going to draw one right here draw two Wiggly lines next to each other and we'll connect the top and the bottom and then we're going to draw another line connecting the top and the bottom we could also add a design to our bag of chips here it has two chips on the wrapper on the outside let's also add another bag of chips over here I'm going to draw it tipping in a different direction so we'll draw the wiggly lines and then we'll connect the top and bottom I'm also drawing it overlapping behind the soda cans to make it look more 3D we can draw the top and the bottom and then let's draw those two chips on the label let's draw a bag of chips sticking out of our cooler and if I ever go too fast remember you can always pause the video for more time let's add some slices of pizza I'm going to draw a side sideways vshape then we can connect the V then let's draw a curve for the crust the top and the bottom and then we can draw a line here and then we're going to come around the outside and then connect to the point we could also add pepperoni on top let's draw another slice of pizza I'm going to draw it right here kind of in the middle then we'll draw the two curves for the crust we'll connect the crust around to the front and then let's add the pepperoni too oh let's add popsicles I'm going to draw an upside down letter U then we'll connect the bottom and then we'll draw a smaller letter U for the popsicle stick let's do that a couple more times I'm going to add a popsicle way over here and one in the middle too next let's add sunglasses I'm going to draw two letter U's right next to each other then we'll connect the top and the middle we're going to also draw the lenses and color them in let's draw another pair of sunglasses over here oh I'm going to draw the top first oh and these could be square sunglasses too now you could add even more things to the inside of your folding surprise but I think we should leave it just like this and we need to color it this part will fast forward but at the end you can pause the video to use my drawing as inspiration for yours we did it we finished drawing our cooler it looks awesome all colored in but I got to show you the inside on the count of three 1 2 3 happy summer you can pause the video right now to match my same coloring or you could color your drawings any way you want you could also add even more things I added this explosion and chips flying everywhere but you could add beach balls or towels or umbrellas anything you would take to the beach or to your summer party I hope you had a lot of fun following along with me and drawing a folding surprise cooler and I I also hope you take extra time to color your drawings and add more things to the inside and we'll see you later art friends goodbye [Music]
