hey our friends today we're gonna be drawing a snake yeah coral snake they're really cool we hope you're gonna follow along with us you need something to draw with we love using markers some papers and something to color with all right let's do this yes we're first gonna draw the head of our snake so let's first draw a we're going to draw it down here in the bottom i'm going to first draw the front of the nose and it's flat then we're going to draw the outside shape so we're going to curve out and then back in and we'll do the same thing on the left side curve out and then back in yeah it already looks cool yes now let's draw the eye we're going to draw it close to the nose we're going to draw an oval shape and then we can also draw a little hole up here for the nostril nostril yeah now the other side of the snake is being covered up so we're just going to draw one side let's now draw the body and we're going to draw both sides together that way we can make sure that we don't overlap too much so we're going to draw a curve that comes out like this and we're going to curve around and up i'm going to draw it just a little further too curve back so it almost looks like a backwards c now we're going to draw the other side and we want to stay the same distance as we follow the first line we drew so we want to make sure that we don't get thick thicker or thinner as we draw around we want to make sure that that's even all the way around now we're going to we're going to continue but we're going to continue on the left side of the snake so we're going to start here and we're going to come down and get close to the neck of the snake down here then let's curve around and we're going to draw further around and i'm going to keep coming back up and then we're going to stop just like we did on this side yeah so we curve around so we almost got a c shape right here now we're going to draw the other side we're going to follow it around make sure that you keep the same distance you don't want to get thicker or thinner and it's okay if you do though because we're practicing right so the most important thing to remember is to have fun and to practice practice yeah like i got a little thicker right there yeah and that's okay that's totally fine now we're gonna continue except we're gonna continue on this side so we're gonna curve back down like this and get close to the other side of the snake i might even i'm even going to continue and and touch right here and then we can even come up further touch even more curve around and then i'm going to stop there so the same thing we've got a backwards c shape then we're gonna finish on the other side stay right next to it same distance curve up oh i got a little thin oh he's looking so cool now on this side we're gonna leave some space in between here so that we can curve back around we're drawing our snake all coiled up they like to be this way they feel a little more safe i think insecure especially if they feel threatened yes so we're going to continue on this side but we're going to leave some space in between here so we don't want to come close to it and touch we want to leave some space we're going to curve back around and then let's just stop like that yeah then we're going to draw i'm going to turn my paper sideways so it's a little easier then we're going to draw the other side match and stay right next to it same distance come down and we'll stop there now we're going to continue drawing but we'll start on the left side which i think has actually been the right side we're just going to start on this side we're going to come down curve around and then we're going to connect to the body and we're going to continue following it around like this until we get inside the big loop we're gonna curve around and then we're gonna stop just like we've been doing with the backwards c now let's jump over to the other side we're gonna follow it around good job we're doing awesome you're doing great keep going now we're get now at this part we're gonna start getting smaller because we're now to the end of the tail end of the snake we're gonna get a little closer to the line so that it starts getting thinner and thinner and you ended the snake good job man i didn't end mine yet it's totally fine buddy don't worry because it's okay that our two drawings look different and it's okay for our friends ended their snake right there too i'm just gonna extend mine a little further you're so funny i'm gonna extend mine like this and then i was gonna come around and then end it like that i think it's awesome jack you did such a great job now let's add the stripes on our snake this is what's going to make it look even cooler and also more 3d so we're not going to draw straight lines across we're going to always draw a curved line so right here on the head we're going to draw a curved line that comes up over and then back down on the other side then let's draw the other side so the first stripe is yellow we're going to curve up so that makes doesn't that look super 3d yeah or a lot more 3d than it was before it looked flat we're going to draw another stripe right next to it so we're going to draw a curve this way and now we're going to draw another curve so these little stripes that we're drawing are the yellow stripes the tip of the head is black then the neck is black and then it alternates it goes black red black red but in between each of those colors are yellow yellow little stripes yeah so let's leave a little space leave some space and then we're going to draw another yellow stripe yeah now on this side when we're going to turn and go around this corner we're going to draw the stripe going this way so we'll draw two curves stuck together like that then let's come down a little further we're gonna draw the curves going the same direction now let's come down here this stripe in the middle of this turn is gonna it's not gonna be as curved we'll draw it kind of straight but kind of curved yeah then over here on this corner we're gonna draw the stripe going this way yeah good job let's do another stripe right here this one is not going to be as turn as curved either similar to what we did right here now the curves going up this direction are really curved i'm going to add another two up here and i'm even going to do one more around this corner good job and then over here let's switch and go the other direction and all the way down this side of the snake we're going to draw them the same they look like upside down use all the way down then over here going back up we're going to switch and still make them look like they're upside down use going back up and then even on this corner right here i'm just going to draw them kind of curved not too curved now over here on the end of the tail i'm going to draw this last stripe right here a little bit thicker and then i'm going to add one more going this direction on the tail yeah and you did it jack we finished drawing our snake it looks really cool and super 3d except we gonna make them look even cooler what do we still need to do color it yeah we need to color our snakes this part we're gonna fast forward but at the end you guys can pause the video to match the same coloring you ready to fast forward yes [Music] jack great job on coloring your snake it looks so cool yeah way better colored in yes we first colored our snake solid but then we went back over it with our white colored pencil to add the highlight to make it look more slithery like a snake yeah then we use the gray marker to add a shadow yeah and that makes it look even more three-dimensional we you had a lot of fun drawing your coral snakes yeah we do we hope you had a lot of fun i'm sure your drawings turned out really cool and we'll see you later our friends goodbye
