how to diagnos a fuel pump - 2007 Ford f150

ladies and Christmas 2007 F-150 so yesterday I got a phone call [Music] to pick this vehicle because diet when money so I want to pick it up found out that the fuel pump was not working so you guys okay F-150 fuel pump driver module which is right here with six wire connectors I already have my setup over here for uh ground and power from the battery I would like to get my power and ground direct from the battery so I know it's gonna have good gonna be accurate so you guys need to do is connect this okay they're going to be they're going to be six wires okay White pink then the two in the middle you guys don't have to worry about it but then at the order on the other end gonna be a brown and white the next one gonna be black and white okay so the black and white gonna be grounds so to make sure that we're getting round to the connector okay we want to test it first okay so there you go we have ground so the ground circuit is good now the other wires to test gonna be the white one so this white you you guys should have voltage when you guys open the switch as you guys can see is nothing right there right now because the switch is closed okay okay we're gonna open the switch and you guys gonna see the light gonna go on okay okay here you guys is key on engine off you guys should have power there guitar switch off engine off no power switch right there see key on engine off you guys should have power okay but the truck is not starting so you guys have power on the white one when you open the switch and you have uh ground on the black and white all the time does mean the circuit is good isn't you guys not even have to check the fuse because you guys getting power and ground I mean power because the ground doesn't have any fuse you guys have been you guys getting power all the way over here okay so okay so next thing to do and it's really simple all you guys need is two paper clips foreign to the pink one and the black and white to the brown and white because when you guys open the switch I mean yeah you guys open so you get powered to here and this driver since the power to the fuel pump so now with they're gonna start the vehicle should start there when we attempt to start it okay okay see how I did it I bypass white to pink and black and white to brown brown and white foreign [Music] so at this point we are 100 sure that the problem is the driver Mario right here okay this one and this bolted in place with only two eight millimeters I'm going to remove those pins here is the new one foreign broke thank you foreign is working properly the truck gonna start I'm mentioning this because sometimes even when there are new parts they are defective okay so just remember if you get you get power when you open the switch and you have ground okay you get power to the white when you open the switch and always ground on the black and white you guys have nothing to check okay I mean from here to there from here to the ignition switch this circuit gonna be good so when you bypassing this connector doesn't mean the sweet circuit from here to the fuel pump is also good so basically circuit from fuel pump to the ignition switch is working properly and this problem gonna be the driver much one more time the name is fuel pump driver module I'm gonna connect but then we're gonna start the truck enjoy foreign there you go guys he's running with a new fuel pump driver module all right okay also in order to do this job you guys gonna have to remove the spare tire okay and once you remove the spare tire you guys gonna be able to see it so gonna be um yeah right behind the differential and under the I mean or above the spare tire thank you
