How to Cut and Polish a Glass Whisky Bottle With Jeff

[Music] [Music] is [Music] world [Music] you can see that it's split most of the way through here lots of times we'll just give it another little hit of hot water here and uh that'll usually do it so you can see by using this method here how uh how perfectly this thing breaks e like uh I don't know if you can see that in there but it's just perfectly straight day with no wrinkles or nothing on there that's just going to make it easier when we go to smooth the top here and then put the round [Music] on [Music] so now we're going to try to flatten the top of the glass like get this so it's perfectly flat that's that's going to allow us to have a a nicer Rim this glass is not flat we just broke it or separated it and all that little shiny stuff there we have to grind that all down and we're going to want to make it look like this here so this is what we're going for so while we're going to do that is I've got some 80 grit metal sandpaper that I've glued down and basically we're just going to keep rotating it like this until we get it flat I put slight pressure down not too hard and you can see your progress you know you take it up and then you just have to dry the rim off here you already can see that we're right these dull spots there you can tell that's where we're working so basically we're going to do this about 2,000 revolutions 2,000 of [Music] those [Music] so what I'm doing here is I'm going to use a variable speed grinder with a 180 grit disc on it and I'm trying to take off the sharp edges almost on to 45 from the outside of the glass and then I'm going to roll up and I'm going to go to the inside of the glass this is just going to make it way easier to make a nice round and smooth edge uh in the polishing [Music] stage [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] n [Music]
