How to Cut a Foundation for a Basement Walkout Entry

- Hello, Caleb with Dansie Design Build here. And today, I wanna show you how we cut this walkout door out behind me. Today's the day we cut the foundation and actually remove the concrete so we can install the door. So an awesome day, super exciting. And really excited to show you this stuff we did today. (upbeat music) Okay, so we're here cutting this basement walkout door, and we've got the marks where we're gonna be cutting the wall. We have these brackets that hold the track and the saw. And here, this saw is the Hilti DST 20-CA. It's the biggest saw that they have. And this blade that's on here is a 33 inch blade, so we can cut this really easily. It's hooked up to the water line here, so it's wet cut. And here, we have the remote control, that's Bluetooth, and it will connect to the saw and control the saw so it moves left and right and into the wall and out of the wall as needed as it's cutting. So here we are. We're gonna get going on this cut. (upbeat rock music) So we got both of those leveled up, and those brackets are ready to go for the vertical. And we'll cut that after we cut the top piece, and we'll be ready to go here. (upbeat rock music) So this is the generator that runs the saw, and the saw takes 480 volts, so you need a really heavy duty diesel generator in order to run the saw that cuts the walkout doors. Just your regular 220 from your house won't cut it.
