Hello guys, today I will show you guys how
to create lakes and rivers using Unity Terrain tools. This is part 3 of the Unity Terrain tools
tutorial so if you want to watch the previous part, check the video in the top right corner
or simply go to the description of this video. Let’s get started! First, let’s create terrain and apply our
grass texture to it. If you don’t know how to do it, check the
video in the description or the top right corner of this video. Secondly, you need to raise the terrain higher
like that… Thirdly, at
the part that you want to create a river, lower it down a little
bit, and after that, you need to select another texture, it can be a rock texture or a sand
texture, and paint that lower part. Finally to create the water, right-click in
the hierarchy -> 3d object -> plane and then move the plane to the river position, move
it up a little bit. Now, I will show you how to create a water material. First, change the material type from solid
to transparent. Then, go the color of the material, go to
the alpha channel and change the alpha channel to 0 and I mean that you are changing the
transparency of the material. Now, drag the material and apply it to the
plane and as you can see, we have our water. Now, let’s apply the grass from our previous video. I will use my sand texture and cover the bottom of the lake. Then, you can add some grass to the bottom
so go to detail, and click on the grass that you want to use. Then, drag it under the river and now you
have a kind of underwater plant. If you have a tree model, you can place it
around here to add more details. That is it for this video, hope you guys enjoy
it and in the next video I will combine everything we learn, and let’s see the result. Bye!
