hello everyone welcome to encryption the tech tips and tutorial channel this video is going to be about how to create a password protected pdf document using microsoft word so let's get started first of all i would like to request you to watch the video till the end because i am going to show a creating the password protected pdf using the ms word in two ways i have found most of the people trying the first method but failing each time the second method that i am going to show you here is going to work the hundred percent so again please watch the video till the end press windows plus r keys to open run and on the box type win word and hit enter to open microsoft office work if you already have a document ready to be converted to a password protected pdf you can skip this step but i am going to show you the entire process from scratch so i'm going to create a new document let's write some lines of text here hello everyone welcome to encryption please like share and subscribe our youtube channel then on the top of the line i'm going to add one more line just for a demo this is a password protected pdf document okay now we have a sample word document that is ready to be converted to a password protected pdf the first method of doing this is to click on the file menu click on the protect document and click on the encrypt with password enter a password and hit enter or click on ok button again enter the same password to confirm then click on the ok button the word document is password protected now using the command logic let's save the word file as a pdf click on the save as browse for the location where you want to store the pdf converted file give a name to the file click on the save as type select pdf from the list and click on the save button oh we get a warning and the warning reads this document is password protected saving this document in a format other than a word document will result in the loss of this protection do you want to continue this means using this method you created a password pdf document but saving this document in a format other than the word document will remove the protection anyway click on the s button to continue as you can see the pdf file is created but it does not have any protection this is worth useless to our need this opens without even asking the password so let's see the other method that works 100 and protects your pdf with the password that you specify we will use the same office word program but the technique will be the different we are not going to use any third party software but will make use of the office word itself so let's see how as with the first method we have a new document let's write a line of text here for example this is actually a password protected pdf document created using word then click on the file menu click on export here under the export section we can see the two options create pdf xps document and change file type choosing the first option we'll create a pdf document first then we'll protect it with a password by using the same office word program so click on the create pdf or xps then give a name to the file locate the folder where you want to save the password protected pdf file we can see the save as type is dot pdf and finally instead of clicking on the publish button click on the options button on the options window at last we can see the encrypt the document with a password option click on the encrypt the document with a password option and then click on ok type a new password we enter the password to confirm and click on the ok button finally click on the publish button now the password protected pdf is created by the office word program and we can see the pdf file is open in a pdf reader and asking for password to read the file in your case the pdf reader may be the different with the one that i have whatever program you have and whatever program the pdf file opens by default it will ask for the password so enter the password and click on the ok button we can read the document after entering the correct password let's close all the windows and and open the password protected pdf again as you can see it's asking password to open the file finally to verify that the file requires password to view or read in all programs let's open it with the google chrome as you can see it's asking for password enter the password and hit enter you can now read the file okay guys this is how we can create a password protected pdf using the office world i hope the video was useful to you please subscribe the channel and hit the bell icon thanks for watching see you on other videos goodbye
