so in this video I would like to show you how to create 3d data or elevation data 3d visualization based on elevation data we have obtained so what we've got here are the regular regularly spaced point data elevation data from the area of Grand Canyon so these data as we can see down here are in decimal degrees and if we go right-click ego properties we take source that we see the due date or in WGS 1984 t so to be able of using some base maps that are delivered by s3 and are hidden here and add base map I would like to transform data T so call that market or the coordinate system that is used by s3 at the native coordinate system for all the base maps available within our GIS so first I go to search tools in the search toolbar is in here it's up there search control off I choose tools and I select project your project data management the help file pod project in data management tool box we set input data or feature class the Grand Canyon it will automatically detect at my data are in WGS 1984 I defined output location or my data our canyon of that matter yes output coordinate system will be 1984 good Mercato rockslide sphere if it's not listed if they've already you have to search for it like this you just type in web Mercator and it should be located in projected World Cup yeah so here we go we go ok and now we wait till our data are projected which shouldn't take a long time and here we go it's completed so we click this wait till drawers so we open a new blank map we add the web Mercator data and now we can see that we are decimal degrees but we are emitters now we can add base map we get up to measure a and see what will happen so now these are or data and this is location Grand Canyon that they are covering okay or we can add sorry we can add other base map graphic so we can check out our type of base map you just have to wait until it loads all right comes laughter on a report tonight right so if we got Grand Canyon as well so now our task is or task is to create a demn digital elevation model out of this data if you right click on the data we check the attribute table so we can see that here as call them code credit code in our case is the elevation it can be that elevation or critical in this case because I converted these data from a creek so doesn't matter so just okay just to makes more sense I will rename the field - same elevations one's confusing okay elevation now there are several functions or data interpolation they are in three an elective raster interpolation here are different types of interpolation matrices to interpolate they touch a continuous surface like greater yeah make sure you check your customized extensions that through the analyst and special unelect checked otherwise market won't work will this function turbo thruster is function it converts progress the date activity M so here we define our input data read any on you know is that type are point elevation on control line here here you can see all the tags the parcel mostly will work with point elation or contour line relation and here we said that a great code that we have removed elevation which it hasn't been which isn't reflected here but which is great code as the elevation as the elation information so Nancy do as we will define output we call it Grand Canyon like grunting yeah hey you know we can define here we can define let's say what is the special bones are meters from each other so he said the courage to leaders and we hit okay and function starts interpolating and one at the interpolation finish we have your the elevation grid for our area of interest so now we can compete something at school let's call shaded purely shaded you early you know I still faster surveys and shade the Sun illuminate illuminated sofa so we put or diem at the input we set 1km shaded output and just do okay you're making or L shaded our elevated your for denied there are other analysis we can have a look at like aspect so all time we use the diem aspect will compete the orientation to towards different [Music] world site at North in southwest see how are the slopes oriented or we can compute slope again because of the yeah say grunting and slow you can choose we use degrees or Burton try W here you can see for your thickness of your your elevation data this India maybe use person for calculation version and some other case so now when we are finished with this we you know and we will prepare some data for 3d visualization as you can see and this satellite image is not high quality so we just try to zoom in a level till the resolution rises so I'll put it down further water water order 1 to $50 now he is much more details so just take it barred and we just check it it's covered with our hands like this and we just keep in mind have to break here or at Grand Canyon for the visualization and now we will export you divided a detector for three mortal so I'll export Bob just jumped our folder make sure JPEG render dpi and we take ride world file this is the reference file it will put your image recordings yes wait two words we can do the same with the flop okay that's it so now we are ready to launch our exceed arcs in 10-foot for 3d visualization - or rjs data so here in our RC we load on your load or DM you can see that it's flat is the social resume if this is elevation data or just a map or some other type of derive surveys so we have to tell him that right click ride height we say that this grid is floating on a constant phase under TPM surface now you can see that is elated right we can see the Grand Canyon in 3d but this is lousy visualization right alone only the elevation TM so just disable it we switch it off we can load the shaded and we do the same we say say that it's floating on a custom through faith but it's floating on 2 p.m. yep what we see now is that our Grand Canyon looks more and 3d better right now we can do the same with our slope define another color scale or slope yeah like this we say it's floating on the DM so now you can see it really see that there the red bars are the steepest parts of the Grand Canyon and the green are flat land okay what if you load the satellite image the texture we do the same right hold on a custom surface on the DD image floating it's way a little too let's compute it and you can see a very nice 3d visualization of the Grand Canyon here where we can do is go to rendering top and to enhance it so the quality will get better and surprisingly oops sorry even given the speed-up of visualization will speed up so here you can see very nice Grand Canyon in 3d pretty cool right in the net now we load the topographical op you can see if link right under bigger there are is no elevation data assigned to this month so when we say it will be floating on our DM and we made the rendering heist here you can see Grand Canyon as it as a topographic map this is pretty cool as well so you can see the contour line here the National Park Information Center and all the road the buses are running around and the Colorado River is blue I think this it's an awesome physical ization yeah and now if you are satisfied with your data you can create a video here somewhere it's not here we go right click in the gray area up here and there should be animation tab okay so here we go for a small camera so you just define keyframes which should be visible in your it's always linked and every point you want to camera position it in you just Fred camera of course there are more advanced way of visualizing these data or using animation but they are not part of the skill try to find it somewhere on internet or a scrap okay so when I'm satisfied I can go to this animation control and save animation relax 15 seconds I could play now I can see how is my animation playing it's not Ebola a good one because I in a rush but anyways would be useful Nyko animation it will export animation and then you got your data okay so here so far we have presented how to turn your point data into into 3d model we can do exactly the same operator and every open control lines okay so well I'm back in arcmap I have loaded our control lines that I would like to convert ng diem I will use the exam same process I just go check attributes table here is the elevation called fish guide because these are or vocal a job so but you can see that here our elevation values you always look for elevation values not independently owned in fields or if it's not English well we go to two box we find raster interpolation to put raster we choose our layer control lines see now that our contour lines yo V D Phi and elevation we define output also size has to be 5 which is 20 now made or incompletion image you know we got elevation so same process using point or a bunch Y so now I would like to show you how to create a 3d model of any power walls you desire I'll open browser and I will I will go for I'll go for earth Explorer you will just look up like the side from EGA is the United States in vertical survey and here we can find a relation data or uttering in written data for whole world so now we would like to check some nice place computer lie okay I like let's say I like the Zion nation part so we try to search for Zion let's see what fun so it's not as I try to find it get lucky so that Valley II so after some search I found design a tional part right here violation for a the very next play so I would like to create a 3d model of it so I will I will say that this is not my around rest I will just work work inside now you check these cuts so we have to look for like there are many other datasets but we go for other and not the writer but let me check so we now engage to digitalization see because our TM and srtm one arcsecond global these data are covering the whole earth or almost horse with the special resolution about 30 by 30 meters which is pretty good because it covers all the world here you can see the coverage also you can see that it's covering almost the whole world except or part so now we have checked the core data we have our area of interest defined here we can go for results you see that these two datasets are covering or area of interest here we can see the footstep of the data so here or here so it depends on we can download both of the data but just not to make it difficult I will download these data you may even see how the digital validation looks like right and here is a button for download options and what our or is a data is do teeth one arcsecond 25 megabytes but we have to login so here it just requires you to create your account now we can download it so we just wait till download and one finish we open our Bob of the new document we can try to learn directly these data work yeah and here we get the data of resign it's part time and what we have here decimal degrees and for a visualization our I propose to the bed Mercator because if we open the base map it should be a little distorted so you need a function that is called project raster same thing we did with the later data now we do with the restaurant data so this function loads we open our TIFF file it's WGS we say it will be the I am web Mercator yep nice to long for a out right this time get it transformed so here we are it is open file again so be if we are messing up with the coordinate systems blah here you have as I am now CPR meters we can open base map my tray you just wait a little bit till it loads one loads we can even try to compute a hill shade shade it really right so your chick decides apart now not much this was quite a lot of in there matter anyway we can work with it yes we can work with this quite well which is cheese at four we would like to visualize this look interesting so we go again export now if I texture we started our scene um so I went and slowed it so we go for design texture go we open design with my authority em right feet Apple there Gus here we have this very small personal piece or or or or hello image we say that is floating on the line but better see how it's going to look like what I can drink here see the dilation bar I think that is awesome isn't it like this you can be grow up visualize and it a place on earth pot yeah so is it hope you like it
