- Hey, what's up, guys? Welcome to another episode of
Chemical Guys Detail Garage. Today in the shop, we got this beautiful Challenger here. Now, as you guys can
see on the closeup view, this vehicle has been neglected, has a lot of water spots, and a little background
story for you guys is, the owner of this vehicle
bought the car used and he hasn't done any work to it yet, so he hasn't waxed it, he hasn't clay barred it
or anything like that, so that's to be expected whenever you get any kind of alkaline
deposits on your paint and you don't have any protection, it's going to stain and etch right away. Besides that, the owner said that they do
park it under a household where the owner, the balcony, they have plants which they
fertilize and, you know, they have a lot of water and
chemicals going on right there. So, all that stuff leaks
over and onto the vehicle and it lands on it and it looks like this. It looks really, really nasty, and honestly, like, you don't
want to be driving around with a car looking like this. To top it off, the owner
thought it'd be a great idea to rinse it off with a garden hose simply because he didn't
want to wipe it down. So he got the garden hose, he rinsed off the car
and he left it like that, didn't bother drying it and this is our end conclusion right here, so this is pretty much
the worst of the worst. These water spots, you can
even feel them on the surface. They're really bad. We'll go around the vehicle and you'll see that they're on the glass. They're on the paint. They're on pretty much
all the plastic surfaces. I mean, the good thing is that
they're not on the wheels, as I can see right here, so that's a great thing that we're not going
to have to worry about. But today in this video, we're going to show you guys how to remove these water spots
very easily and effectively using Heavy Duty Water Spot Remover Gel. Now, Heavy Duty Water Spot Remover Gel, it's a citrus-based gel
that pretty much breaks down any kind of alkaline and calcium deposits that are on the paint or
any kind of glossy surface. So you can use this product on the paint, you can use it on the glass, any kind of smooth,
glossy plastics and/or, you know, glossy wheels if they're metal or anything like that, use it on there. It'll instantly erase those alkaline deposits that
are sitting on the paint. So before you do get, before you get into that, you want to make sure that you
wipe down the surface properly, so, you know, don't rinse
it off with the garden hose and just leave it like that. You want to sure that
you actually clean it and prepare it for an application, so you manna make sure you're using, like, a quick detail spray. Today I'm using Synthetic
Quick Detail Spray. This product works out great to remove light dust, debris, you know, bird droppings that are on
the surface of your paint without scratching the paint and without having to conduct
a full-service carwash. So all I'm going to do is
spray once onto my towel here and I'm going to and pretty much wipe
off these water spots. In a lot of these areas, it'll kinda like wipe right off, but they'll kind of like disappear and then they'll come back
just because the etching, it stains the paint so it's
not really going to come off with just the standard wipe. I don't know if you guys
can tell right here, you have a lot of, like, smearing going on and these are going to be
like the lighter water spots, but for like up here on the hood, you can wipe 'em off, but they're just going
to come right back. I think the worst scenario
is actually on the top where all that water and
stuff was leaking onto. I'll have my cameraman, you know, pan over that area so you
guys can check it out, but this right here, it's pretty bad. It's very, you know, unfortunate to have to clean this, but luckily we have this Heavy
Duty Water Spot Remover Gel that's going to make
our life a lot easier. So the way you use this
gel is, like I said, you want to make sure you're
working on a clean surface, grab the gel and get a
microfiber applicator and all you want to do
is apply a few drops. I usually like to do about two drops when it doesn't want to drag on me. I'll give it one more drop just because it's a little bit heavier
in concentration up here. I will start at the worst area. So we'll do the section that I've already wiped down. All I want to do is get
the Water Spot Remover Gel and kind of blot it out
like as if it was a wax. Remember, this is a gel-based product, so when you work it in, you just want to work
it in kinda like a wax how you regularly would. And just like that, very
quickly, very effectively, you'll see that it neutralizes and it literally erases these water spots right off the surface of the paint. Then section. Now you want to wipe it off. A great way to do this is to
simply use your detail spray to wipe it off. Why? Because it's going to make
your life easier to wipe it off and it's going to neutralize
any kind of leftover citrus-based cleaners that
are sitting on the surface. So all you want to do is simply spray it, set that down, and then you just want to wipe it off. And like I said, this makes it very easy to
just simply wipe it right off without having to struggle. I mean, it is a gel-based product, so, you know, it is kind
of a sticky product, so it will kinda stick to the surface if you're trying to just do it with, like, a dry side of the towel. But you just pretty much work it and you just want to make sure that you wipe off all
the product entirely. Wipe it right off. And check it out, it looks like brand new. Those water spots were never there. It looks great. I do see some haze right
here in this section that I'm going to wipe off. And there you go. Now, like I said, the owner of this vehicle
just picked it up. He's going to actually plan
on clay barring, polishing and applying HydroSilex
ceramic coating to the paint. That's one thing that you
guys can do to prevent this. If you have a coating such as HydroSilex sitting on the paint, that's going to make your
paint extremely slick, so any kind of water that gets on there, it'll just literally bead it right off or sheet it right off. And it definitely makes it a lot easier to prevent any kind of contamination from etching its way into
the surface of your paint so that you ensure that your paint is protected at all times. So then I've done a section of the hood. I still do want to show
you guys more surfaces that you guys can and use this Water Spot Remover Gel on. Like I mentioned, you can
pretty much use it on anything that's a glossy surface. So next, we're going
to move to the glass. We'll show you guys how to do that. And then any other part of, you know, the vehicle that's glossy
that has water spots, we'll show you guys on that, too. So now that we're done
with the paint over there, I want to show you guys an example here on the glass. remember, you want to make sure
that you clean the surface, so get your towel and you
want to wipe off any kind of water spots that are on there. And I know a lot of these water
spots just kinda disappear when you wipe 'em off
with the detail spray, but that's exactly the point that I want to show you guys. Even though you can wipe
it down or wash it off, you still have some of them
that are pretty etched in. I don't know if you guys
can catch it on camera, but there's a lot of 'em right here, around the lip, and especially on this
kind of border right here. So they get pretty etched into the surface when there's no protection, so that's why you want to make sure that you neutralize these
things as soon as possible before they make it a nightmare for you to remove it from your paint. So now that we've done that
and we've cleaned the surface, going to grab the Heavy Duty Water Spot Remover Gel. And since my pad's already
saturated with some, I'm just going to put one drop of product. That's going to be more than enough for this little section here. And remember, just blot it out and then watch as the magic
unravels before your eyes. I'm just kidding, guys. It looks great. It's going to neutralize and erase these alkaline deposits that etched their way into the surface. And I'm not even putting any, you know, crazy elbow grease into here. It's just simply a matter of working the product onto the surface. There are going to be some areas that are kinda hard to get into, just like that little corner there. I'm going to try my best to get in there. There we go. So just knocks it right off. It literally erases it from the surface. That's the reason I like, I love Heavy Duty Water Spot Remover Gel because no matter if the water spots are light or pretty etched in, they do a great job at both. So just work it in. And remember, now that you're done, you can pretty much spray your water or your Quick Detail
Spray onto the surface, wipe it right off and it just
wipes right off no problem. Go to a dry side and pick up any excess. I'll flip over my towel 'cause it's already kind of just soaked. And just wipe it right off and
just reveal that nice glass, that high clarity without any
kind of residue left behind. Check it out, guys. You can actually see
my reflection in there. Looks nice and clean, etch free, and we don't have to worry
about these nasty water spots like you see over here on this side. You want to worry more
about this right here. You want to spend time looking good. You don't want to spend
time having to worry about these water spots
that are in your paint. So, as you guys can see, even around the vehicle on that glass, on the door, on the paint, we still have a bunch more work to get done on this vehicle. I'm going to do the entire vehicle and then we'll be right
back once we're done and we're all removed of
all these water spots. (chill music) All right, guys. Well, there you have it. Just using Heavy Duty
Water Spot Remover Gel, we managed to get all the water spots that are on this vehicle off the paint so that it doesn't cause any
future damage such as etchings. You know, I do want to go over that. If you do leave these
water spots on the paint, what happens is over time, they're going to pretty
much stay in the paint and they're going to
etch their way in there and they're pretty much
going to live there forever unless you decide to remove 'em. And when you let 'em
sit there for a while, then that's when they
permanently start etching and then you're going to have to, you know, resort to
more aggressive measures as opposed to like the Heavy
Duty Water Spot Remover Gel. You're most likely going to
have to polish out water spots or in worst-case scenario, you're going to have to
repaint the vehicle entirely if it gets that bad. I hope this video was
informative for you guys. You know, like I said, you don't want to be that guy that lets these water
spots sit in their paint because over time they're going to etch and it's not going to look good on you. You don't want to drive around with a super etched up, watered ride, so just make sure to clean
it up as soon as possible and you'll prevent any kind
of headaches in the future. If you guys liked this video, make sure to give it a thumbs-up. If you haven't done so already, make sure to subscribe so
