crunchy but still maintains that beautiful green color this is my own way on how to make the best ever stilled green amarath or karlalou well keep watching because this recipe is the heat [Music] [Music] hello hello everybody how's it going it's your cody and welcome back to my channel today we are going to be making this delicious green amarath or carlaloo jamaicans call it talalu we in cameroon we call it green but how to search the name it's called green amaraf well before we get started please hit the subscribe button and turn on the notifications so you're going to be the first to receive that alert for any new videos right here we have the green or the color it's fresh beautiful looking i will start by plucking off the leaf and the soft part of the stem in fact all the stems are soft so i'm just going to pluck some part of the stem sliced everything and we're going to jump in to begin preparing our green [Music] next step transfer the green into a bowl and add boiled in water on it you don't have to cook the green like on top of the fire because green is one soft veggies which don't need to be overcooked like it's going to be mushy and pasty when you chew it although some people like it that way but my own way on how to make it and make it like this to maintain that crunchiness and the beautiful green color so heat it inside my water for about five minutes then transfer to a strainer and sprinkle some cold water on it to stop the cooking process this cold water is just to make the color not to overcook when you've done that squeeze the water from the green for the other ingredients you need one large whole onion red bell pepper salt black pepper and chili flake for the onion dice some and save some for garnishing so the one i'm slicing right now is going to be for garnishing [Music] so this is how the chopped bell pepper and the onion looks like in a hot pot add some cooking oil and transfer the onion and the bell pepper and let it saute for like two minutes [Music] you can now add the green and all the rest of the ingredients except the onion we sliced before for garnishing you're not going to add the onion at this point and stir perfectly until everything gets part of that mixture just stay for about a minute in this recipe you don't need to over cook the green because like i said before it's going to be so soft i just want to maintain the crunchiness of the veggies [Music] [Music] after stirring for about a minute you can now garnish with the onion and just garnish for a while very very short time not up to a minute even after you can transfer and you enjoy maybe some plantains fried plantains fried rice and many other sides these veggies trust me it's one veggies i like eating with rice it's really really good [Music] do [Music] we've come to the end of this video and please try this my own method of cooking carlaloo or green and you're definitely gonna love it you're not gonna have any regrets thank you so much for watching and trust my recipes bye [Music]
