hey y'all irix guy here and this is how to connect the road caster pro to the atem mini pro or just the atem mini so the first thing you're going to want to do and we're going to step through this step by step so if you need to replay this video you can you know feel free to do that first thing you want to do is see these plugs right here l and r with the little speaker icon these are referred to as monitor out i don't know why they call it monitor out you know let's just call it audio out because there's not like any sort of display connected but so r and and expand this video's description and click the link there to find a cable like i used r is the one with the red tip which is right l is the one with the black tip which is left so this cable runs to the back of my a10 mini pro again if you're using atm mini it's the same it's just a slightly different feature-rich device and you've got two choices mic 1 mic 1 or mic 2. i did mic 1. so there's our physical cable connection the next thing we're going to do is go to atm software control so if you haven't connected your atem mini or your a10 mini pro to your network do that and install the atm software control this is where it gets a little bit confusing because out of the box if you powered on your your uh you know you started to do like a like a youtube live or whatever streaming you're probably going to hear a lot of noise on the line and that was driving me crazy so this step right here is super important atem software control go to audio which is the option at the bottom now once you're in audio you can see there those audio levels are jumping now you got to turn on mic 1 which is your see now it's green when it was off it's gray it acknowledges it's there but it's not it's not actually sending it so now you got the audio see so you can adjust your levels if you want to if it's too silent or too loud the super important thing if you fail to do this your audio is probably going to sound like garbage why atem software control hid this and they didn't really hide it but they kind of did looking at this screen one might assume that the settings would be here you got to go all the way down here to this left corner see that little gear icon click your gear icon now you're presented with this screen for settings you want to go to audio tab so there's audio and then if you're using mic 1 like i am you have got to change it from microphone to line if you keep it on microphone setting it's probably going to be like a lot of people have experienced the same and you're probably going to hear a lot of buzzing you know regardless of how you adjust your levels you're probably going to hear a lot of buzzing so if you're hearing that buzzing it's probably not a bad cable it's probably that your own microphone instead of line so again make sure that you select a line for your input now again i was using mic one so i set mic one to line super important to do do not miss that step and another tip here you know if you if you want to further refine your audio what i found in the default this is when i power on my atm mini pro it seems to default at these levels which may be okay you may not have to tinker with that but what you may end up doing you may find that you want to bring your level down here in the uh you know in the in the atem software and bring your volume up here so this little volume knob this controls how loud the uh you know how the volume level of the of the road caster pro's outputs and then this in the atm software controls the levels of the uh of the on the atem mini pro or atm mini end so a lot of people said hey man keep atem mini lower so in other words you know lower this but you know i found with mine i just kind of keep it where it is by default and it's it's worked fine but if you find that if you find that you're uh that your viewers on a youtube live or whatever are saying that hey man the volume is not loud enough this right here is your volume knob and just for reference and everybody's different but this is how i use mine so that's that's the the volume out setting see where the knobs pointing that's exactly how i use mine for my youtube live streams and it's uh i mean i don't know i mean i've i've gotten outstanding feedback so far so not feedback outstanding response from viewers so yeah that's it that's how to connect your rode road caster pro to the blackmagic atem mini pro or the blackmagic atm mini so i hope this video provided value if it did be sure to like be sure to share subscribe to
