How to Change Ford F150 Fuel Filter on 2004 to 08

so I'm going to be changing my fuel filter on a 2005 f150 should be the same for most of their trucks so let's talk about the tools you would need so obviously you need hand protection I mean this is optional you don't have to if you don't want to safety glasses a must and a 7/32 socket set and I'll show you why you need this flat-head screwdriver and a disconnect tool so right now I'm going to depressurize the fuel line I'm on the passenger side of my truck and our goal is to disconnect this switch which is tucked in the back so I told you you would need this flat-head screwdriver I use that to rip to help me pull this cover off the fuse box even though it says you can pull it I had a hard time pulling it off and also said you will need this I get to it and that this is what I use to remove the screws that's holding this into place the switch and here's the harness that I disconnected to switch from and I thought I could have just pressed the switch and shut it off but that didn't work so let me do an idea where that switch was located it was located back there and the screw holes what I also had to do was once I disconnected all that I came to the truck and I cranked it up and it turned off in about five or seven seconds something like that and that depressurized the fuel line all right so I'm going to show you where it's actually located I wanted to drive us out of the truck and I'm just laying on the ground right now and here's what we will be working on the fuel filter as you can see my look clean and pretty because I've already installed it hey so right now I'm under the truck and I got an old sock that I was trying to catch some of the fuel whoo so I'm just going to press that in and pull it out and try to hold on to that so I don't get any fuel out I'm going to take this clamp and just kind of clamp it into place so it's not jumping all over and leaking the fuel in to where it's being a pain in the butt I can't hold it so that helps a little bit all right so next we're going to pop this up alright pull it forward and pull it back you're going to take the disconnect tool think it's half-inch yes using a 1/2 inch side just can't clamp it on like that and just work it there it is disconnected just like that so I don't have enough fuel dripping out like crazy because I've already drained mine as I told you before so it's pretty simple you pop this out put the new filter in and listen for the click now alright there was the click you need to make sure you have that click all right so all right so a little difficulty with that but snap it down that's it take this side believe it or not we're done and there it is it's installed so if your truck didn't crank right away just check your switch and make sure that you don't have to press it down and reset it and you should be fine as you can see the trucks running and it's idling good
