hey what's up guys father here without an iron we are hearing dirt bike TVs garage with Jay and today he is going to teach me something very important right Jay yeah how to change your rear tire on a dirt bike alright Jay so uh you know my right uh who's up there on trails that are somewhat faster I didn't really take too much on the on the rocky technical first gear stuff and I want to tire that it's lasting for a long time I cannot change it every day like you so what would you recommend me to do well I don't change them too often so I'll give you the pros and cons we got four different off-road tires here we're gonna show you this attire it's our trials tire 803 GP now is the new name and trials tire but it's a very silver a very gummy compound but it actually lasts pretty well now it won't hold up if you're gonna do big fast connector stuff in between trails but on the tight trails like those trails you right by your house that are real rocky and tight amazing works really well really nowhere it doesn't do well maybe in deep sand or in deep mud how about those off camber trails it's still fine as it doesn't yet but none of the side not on the motocross track if you were to take it onto a track which you wouldn't be doing that with this but he did that's where you notice it wouldn't have that kind of bite so on the trail it's amazing it really works well and it lasts pretty well it's a good buy for your money for trail guys if you're writing just that slow stuff this is what I'd recommend and if you're gonna keep it under save you know forty five fifty miles an hour and not be going on the fast dirt roads or asphalt to connect I would run this and it's a good good tire to run for offroad then the next that the ultimate right is the 80 81 IX this is a knobby version with that same compound that's what you have there km 300 right infested yeah that's what that thing was ripping everywhere so just like and we still has some good side bite grabs in still obviously not gonna be good on a motocross track cuz it's right it's gonna be too soft it's gonna flex too much now what if I take you don't my know usual trail and I have 450 that was a very sometimes I go on to get in the turns you think that I would and the repo of this side here well yeah I just don't think I think it would be overkill so this this tires a specialty tire just like for that but if you want the ultimate grit or tight trails rocks like in Moab or that five miles of Hell Trail or any mountain trails with rocks and roots this would be the tire this is the tire that like Cody Webb runs an enduro cross this is the really good tire for that kind of stuff so this is what I'd recommend between this and the trial somebody always do put on this diary of you write their clinical stuff and I'll I'll probably get 10 to 12 I bet guys this which is about three or four rides you know trips out so if you look at it like that you know there are a hundred a hundred twenty dollars what you find them for um you know online so if you find one so you know that's you know you're you know I'm twenty or thirty bucks a trip now for you guys that are going on a special trip that's why I'd say hey save this if you're gonna go on a special mountain trip right some guys you're going on a 45 day riding trip this would be a good tire to take for that so that'd be a good one a lot of phones blowing up all right yeah my wife is calling me so now this this is this probably this is a good option for you if you were just doing dirt roads and some asphalt this is our D 606 everybody loves this tire is street legal and you can see the knobs are much lower a lot harder Road no less for a long time to last a long time and still gives a good grip a lot of the dual-sport guys love this tire and even a lot of off-road guys like on 450 X's will run this tire in Baja though run from here all the way down and back they'll put eight hundred thousand miles on these things no better trick no trip trail guys they're not Racing racing guys are gonna be switching out of course but they want a good strong tire for that so that's our tire for that and then for you I think since you're gonna do a little bit of trail stuff and you're beyond like fire roads right this is a good tire now it will wear out quicker than then the D 606 so it's not quite as long lasting as that but it has really good grip it's it's our 80 81 and we have this in a 120 90 18 and this is what we'll be mounting on your mr. Bourg I usually get the like 30 hours from a tire yeah I think that's for sure doable okay yeah cool so we'll see how that goes so we'll get this mounted up we'll show you some tips on how to do it I do quite a few a week so hopefully I'll really do it easy for you alright let's do it the rough estimate how many tires need to change so far in your lifetime thousands thousands I don't know how many but the guys the dunlop guys that go to the races those guys do like did you like 30 to 40 each a weekend so they're doing a lot but i do you know something depends on the weeks but anywhere from 5 some weeks up to 25 or 30 in a week my start i start by taking a dowel core out you didn't hear a bunch of air came out because right is raw dog audiences oh and by the way i think my tube is flat yeah thank you girls only flood on the bottom though yeah so then we undo the rim walk all the way they steal sprocket that'll last a long time okay 52 from Rosenberg they have 1350 to hearing it's a pattern the same as anything else same as a TM v TM okay okay so I get that I got the rim walk loose now and this is a very old tire he has on here like 10 10 years old don't want to do that okay you're gonna go around here like this knock it all off the feed and then flip it over I'm gonna do the same thing on the other side we've got a little problem here cuz our spacer struck right there okay you're gonna need wheel bearings wheel bearings a bit and then your future we'll see you get it bolted up you can check for any side clip let's say you can tell so now the tires all off the beat I'll start about a quarter the way away from the rim lock just like that so my tire spoon just get in there but and then I usually use three you can get viola two because I got all off now now I flip it over the other side and Roderick did tell me that this thing is not much part in a long time the tire is like over ten years old or something everything's coming apart in here so we think the tube is probably shot and I bet the tire we the quiet the tape up the rim maybe we'll see so I push with my body now the type the tires all the way off and I'll come in here like this there's my tire spoon just that it's all now I will get it and inspect it like so let's see how these spokes there's some silver spokes sticking out so we're gonna retake this up so I'm going to take the rim lock off to tape it up so at this point I'll leave this tape on here and just wipe it off if the tape was ruined worse I would just pull it all off and start over and get a wire brush and clean the whole rim but it's not too bad so I'm just gonna I already have some Gorilla Tape here if you use Gorilla Tape this doesn't happen it doesn't wear through or if you use cheap paint you have to do like three laps sometimes so I go around like this I'm probably only gonna do one lap because I already got that other stuff down just like that of course you cut it with your teeth that's the way you're supposed to do it now at this point we're gonna find our rim lock hole and our valve stem hole and I get a razor blade and I cut it through the tape and then wand at the okay and we can put our rim lock back in you can put some baby powder in the tube that would have ended to end the tire but as being lazy so you keep the rim lock in when you put a tie on yeah and then put it over the rim lock yeah yeah that's funny don't you do them this way this is and I only did it this way cuz this is how I was taught by the thumb up guys you know 15 years ago cuz I was doing tires my own way for years right didn't want to start to work more Dunlop direct they had me kind of do its third way and that's the way to do it you know yeah they probably know yeah yeah so now so I can tire paste this tire pace like industrials called Hunter engineering stuff is great he's almost gone with the pace though he did a few tires here that'll last me about 20 years no no one year really one year is like if that maybe a little less cuz that cuz I take some out I put it in my van because I keep something my van nice for when I do there and then we have some of the Utah's well this would last me for it through lifetimes two lights okay so now I got my tube in I put the tube in I put the nut on and rim walk in and we're good to go now the rim locks not opposite so it's not easy on this it's easier on this wheel then if the rim walk was offices it's not there it's the brim locks right next it's not it's not opposite because you have a choice you got at home there right so who you choose we put it yeah okay I like it like this okay so now we're on now if you're not on let's let me show you what you would do if so what you do if the rim lock so do you have your tire run mm-hmm so with the tire you walk it like this and then you push the rim lock like that and that's how you get the rim lock on if it's not for you if you don't start right next if it's opposite it okay so then we come back over to this side I start a little ways away from valve stem and you need one of these a little lead buddy just like that and I left Hanna pushed on the rim walk and my left hand is pushing down on the tire of course 18-inch tires are easier than 19 inch but also I've been I've done so many tire videos on some of the comments are pretty funny guys say he's using a special tire a trip tire that it's not a real tire that's why it's so easy so anyway that's all there is to it you pull this out well and then we're gonna air it up when he aired up you want to make sure you have good air pressure because then you can beat it all the way up well so what I do is make sure we beat it up all the way around make sure we beat it up all the way around we're good now we'll take our rim our first step and then we'll set the pressure and you'll be ready to ride although you might want to be factored you probably Dunlop stickers on here huh chorus for motocross guys we'll be you know let's say you know 12 to 13 typically in motocross in those ranges front so rear may be 12 v in the front 12 5 to 13 in most conditions and an off-road will run a little bit more will tent you now with that trows tire we're doing slow so we'll run that thing at 8 to 10 mm hm the trials guys that themselves are running those things at 4 or 5 real low but we'll run them at like 8 to 10 on all and we don't really ever have any problems with flats but we're not doing crazy fast stuff with it anything like that and then with what you're doing I'd probably run 14 to 15 mm you don't do it last year I tried to do the video about how things to let tire but it was easier to come here know my hand slip you know I had a short spoons and I I hid my knuckles on this bracket so I just threw it on the on the ground and I said that video will not be posted why don't you shoot once you throw a little cliff to that video you should have something video laughter do you do you throw it away I have to tape it if you deleted it if you have it you should throw a little clip like right here okay that's how I put the tyre stickers on that's one of the most common questions until you head it up guys asking you are these stickers yeah we're gonna get them you know what I think I don't know if there's any place you can actually buy them and people have tried to make them and no one can really make them these are they're making Japan um don't laugh has run some specials and different things where you can get them right and but I don't know that you can actually buy they look pretty cool right from anyone yeah all my project bikes have monocore down all that they'll stay home pretty good as long as you don't pressure wash it right on there straight away they'll stay on a long time I say that in this one's coming off there we go I didn't contact me first so that's all there is to it um yeah easy easy deal we're gonna put these guys like seven minutes to do the tire man and what I'm doing at home if thinking for like an hour we spin a long time to change your your tape there and stuff so there we go we're gonna find some wheel bearings for you so that's all there is to it on go changing tire what else you got thanks Jay that was easy alright guys well there's a body for this video you see it's a it's not a big deal to tend to Taiwan to know how to do it if you do like three tires a week like Jay that's about it for today and don't forget whatever you do stay motivated see you guys later stay motivated there you go
