we're doing a Logix ICF basement with eight inch cavity so I got my layout chalk lines done we're just going to run the first and second course I gotta drill some rebar in and then uh we'll go from there here we go [Music] [Music] thank you [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] so first we set our corners on all four sides and then next we run our straight lines for the corner and then where they meet if there's a gap that's less than four feet we'll measure that block and see if it can be cut on a cut line in this case it did so we'll cut it and set it in there for our first course here's an example for the next cut it's touching here on this side and then on this end we have a stud right here with all these x's on it cut line right here so we're gonna Mark that cut line [Music] after it's cut we'll just slide it this way [Music] now that my first course is laid down I got my pattern for that one I still have to drill my rebar you can set your rebar in the cement but I didn't want mine to interfere with the webbing between the foam so I'm just going to drill those and pound them in now [Music] foreign course we have to run our horizontal rebar [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] so after we get our horizontal rebar in we need to bend up to a few corners and then after we put these in we'll use these horizontal ties or zip ties when these don't fit to tie the corners together [Music] thank you [Music] that looks High ties these together really nice when we take these horizontal times [Music] that [Music] now that we have our rebar set we're going to go ahead and start on the second course first we'll start in the corners using the opposite side corner blocks so you see this one here has a 16 inches here and then a small amount here and this one's the opposite so it's high in the corner [Music] thank you foreign [Music] ER in [Music] I can start laying some straight blocks along the wall [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] on your second course after you finish all your vertical horizontal ties to your rebar next we're going to put in some of this form lock it just slides in here [Music] just helping helps keep your walls straight [Music] thank you after we got our second course all put together next we're going to go around with our laser level and level off our top top of her block shape if you need to lift it up a bit you have to put some shims under like this and when the shims are in you just put a few uh spots of spray foam to hold it up and then afterwards you'll go and spray foam the whole thing if you need to go down at all you'll have to get a handsaw or something and trim it a bit how's it going so far it's going good we're making progress oh yeah I can't buy this tool in any hardware store this might look like an ordinary piece of garbage piece of wood but uh it's actually a micrometer [Music] [Applause] [Music] as we continue the courses up we're going to lay our windows out as we go we don't want to be cutting them after they're all set we're going to cut them as we set them down [Music] foreign [Music] so after your third or fourth course you can set up your bracing and then we'll set our scaffolding boards up so we can keep on going for the last few questions [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] foreign [Music] now that we have all our forms set we're going to start working on the window buildings [Music] foreign [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so yesterday we finished our last two courses of blocks we got our window box in and we got all of our ties and rebar vertical rebar in the walls just going to show you around next what we have to do is do some extra bracing and um some extra strapping over the cut lines there's there's a few spots where we just need to add some extra support and on the top of that window I'm going to add some as well so here's what it looks like inside we also straightened our walls yesterday with the bracing so on the top of course we tied we tied all the blocks together horizontally and vertically all the rest of our clips that we had [Music] we put a hole in the bottom of the windowsill so that put some concrete down there and see how high up it is so we don't get any cavities in there hey everyone so today's the big day for the ICF core we've been working on this for about a week hopefully everything goes good and we don't have any blowouts [Music] [Applause] foreign [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] well there it was the last bit of concrete successful corner without any blow ing horn or cracked but it didn't blow out so we reinforced the other corners but we just had enough concrete so overall a successful day good work boys foreign
