when i do trim work lots of times i have to deal with an irregular angle so i have to miter two pieces like this to do it i have to figure out this exact angle then i have to divide that in half how am i going to do that i just happen to have a special tool to help me figure this out when i open it up and i put it against the wall i push it tight and it will tell me the bisected angle to set my miter saw to pretty nifty huh what's that oh you don't have one of these you know what that's not a problem even though i have one of these i don't use it very much because i have a simple way to bisect that angle to give you a perfect miter start with two blocks of wood that are exactly the same width and i mean exactly place one block tight against one wall take the other block and place it tight against the other wall then draw a line on each side with a sharp pencil all right now here's the cool part you need to draw one more straight line between these two points and that's your bisected angle line up the blade of the saw with the line and cut both blocks at the same time let's see how it fits perfect now with the saw set at the right angle cut the molding all right let's see how it fits pretty good so now even without fancy tools you'll know all the angles
