I know it's a matter of discipline. But my morning me is a different me. Morning me doesn't care if waking up early means having sex, getting paid, or having a blast. Morning me tells everyone to go fuck themselves and goes back to sleep. Normal me hates morning me and doesn't understand how morning me is a different person.
... holy shit the phrase "Never let the sun catch us sleeping" may actually be life changing.
aaaaaaand I'm watching this 5 hours before I should be waking up
As someone who used to have to be at work at 430 AM everyday (hooray for college hours), here are some things that worked for me:
Use sleepyti.me. I was skeptical at first, but even if you screw up the first time given, there are always a few more. They have an app for phones too.
Put your phone/alarm in a lidless container to amplify the sound. If it doesn't wake you up, it should at least wake your wife, your roommate, your kids, or the dead. They'll let you know its time to get up.
If you're like me and took a job requiring early mornings despite being a night-owl, schedule naps. Best thing in the world is a mid-day/early evening couch nap.
I find having my bedstand light on a timer to turn on at 06.00 really helpful as well. Also: not shutting the blinds to the room to let the natural light in.
Coffee.
i wake up for work at 4:30 AM. i just cant make myself wake up earlier than that.
